Stay was very pleasant. Staff respond immediately if you need anything and everyone is very friendly and helpful. Only two points that bothered me a bit: the roof leaks above the fireplace, so we couldn't have a fire in the stormy weather when we arrived, and hooks for washcloths in the shower would help a lot.

We enjoy Arniston as a weekend getaway. We have been to Arniston Seaside Cottages before. With this round, the cleanliness and cleaning of the units has been greatly improved. Although the units are showing their age and need some maintenance, they are still comfortable and clean. Although probably the window latches don't work, there are burglar bars in front of the windows and the security of the area ensures that this shouldn't be a problem.
We as a family had a lovely break, comfortably furnished, nice sheltered barbecue area, fireplace inside and close to the cave. Second visit, recommended.

The host was friendly and the staff stayed till late to fix the TV.
I enjoyed the 4 nights at Arniston Seaside Cottages. The stove needs to be replaced urgently as it poses a safety risk; all 4 plates are rusted and have holes. The grill pan is also rusted. People who stayed there in 2021 during their holiday made a request about the stove, but nothing has been done. The kitchen utensils inside the drawer are also rusted, and the microwave door is faulty. Only a few channels are available on DSTV, but the card states that all sport channels are activated. Also, there is no WiFi.
It was clean and tidy.
The location is excellent and the apartment is well equipped. Unfortunately the stairs were terribly steep (I'm 73). Also, it needs serious maintenance. Another problem was that right down in front of us they were working on a car with petrol fumes and a 3 person chaff. After much complaining they finally stopped at 17:30.
This was our 1st visit to Arniston. The accommodation is perfectly located - walking distance to Romans Bay and the Waenhuiskransgrot. The fact that the whole town is dog friendly was also a big surprise. Just note that there is no shop in town, only a small shop behind the hotel with only the essentials. The little shop has e.g. no more bottled water. You then have to drive to Bredasdorp.
The cleaning staff were not pleasant or friendly. They seemed as if they did not want to clean the unit and when they did it was not satisfactory. They do not work off a checklist that a supervisor signs off either. The location is great but not the housekeeping.
It was very comfortable to live there, but the utensils were full of dust and dirt. Many of the necessities were not there.
The accommodation was not what we expected. We believed it would have a sea view and be on the beach. The accommodation was sufficiently clean and well-stocked, but surrounded by a lot of small and similar flats. We had a situation where some 5/6 workers staying around us had big drinking parties till late in the night. We had to call security and the lady managing. She was very helpful and was going to complain to the relevant parties. It did not help us.

The staff at Arniston Seaside Cottage were incredibly friendly and helpful too. Unfortunately, the website didn't let them know I was bringing my small dog with me. When I arrived, the receptionist, who was very friendly and helpful, quickly had to make other arrangements where I could stay with my dog. Thank you Lady for your help. I thought I was sleeping on the street here, because I booked two weeks in advance and also paid immediately.

Love Arniston. A great location.
The units are spacious and clean, but one gets a reasonable feeling that the units are outdated. The shelf under the TV is still suitable for a box TV, although at least the TV has been replaced with a flat screen. The stoves are beautifully cleaned, but with age you can't tell which button is for which plate or oven. The cleaning staff are very friendly and helpful. Wood and lighters were dropped off in unit when we ordered.

We had a wonderful stay. Was able to light a fire in the fireplace when the loadshedding darkened everything and looked at the stars.
A safety issue is that there is no handrail going up the steps to the front entrance. One could easily fall off when opening the door as well as it is difficult for the elderly and people with knee and hip problems.

Apart from the fact that there is little seating for hanging out, given the large amount of sleeping space, it was a lovely place to hang out for social cooking!
We stayed in Chateau Louis for 5 nights and found the property to be more than sufficient. The kitchen is well-equipped and the property kept very clean. The property is situated behind the hotel, with a small sea view from the balcony which is great. The only complaint I would have is that the buildings (fittings and finishes) including the furnishings are somewhat outdated and generally old and in need of some minor updates and maintenance. All together a comfortable stay.

Perfect location - 100 m to beach. Hotel within 100 m and has the most delicious pizza. Unit was clean and tidy and serviced every day. Staff are extremely helpful and always willing to help.
Because of the thatched roofs we sometimes encountered small bugs - which the woman obviously had a lot on the run, maybe just finding medicine to counteract it. I must mention that I completed the booking within minutes and that 4 days from the date of departure - I was very impressed. Thank you very much.
Purpose of visit was to attend a conference at Arniston Hotel. Being alone and only required accommodation for sleeping purposes the venue was compact, neat and acceptable for the purpose of my visit. I was well received, made to feel welcome, so the first impression was a positive one. Will gladly return. Also note the unit was self-catering.
The house was comfortably furnished and close to the beach. We really enjoyed the fireplace in the house and the barbecue under the canopy. Our puppy hung out and the enclosed back yard was ideal for a pet.

Mary, the friendly receptionist learns upon arrival, what one's expectations of the visit are, and then adjusts the choice of cottage to give you the best experience. Fully equipped with up to 2 and 3 point electric plugs in bathrooms with luxury heated towel rails only expected in 5 star hotels. DStv in a spacious living room that leads onto a sheltered courtyard where you can braai under a thatched lapa while the Southeasterly blows elsewhere! Here you can read and sunbathe and the brave wash off the sand under a private outdoor shower after braving the cold Cape waters.
Would have liked to be more on the sea front - didn't realize it wasn't directly on the sea front.
Unit Brown Cow is right next to laundry and creates no privacy and even other visitors also use gate going to town. Website does not indicate the information. Unit itself is clean and spacious and acceptable. However, unit has no view and right behind hotel's liquor store which attracts many characters on Saturday. Visitors should be informed that no gas station or other shops are available and purchases must be made at Bredasdorp.

Accommodation is provided in a variety of thatch-roofed cottages that are within a few metres from the beachfront.
Some cottages have balconies with panoramic views of the ocean and the unspoiled coastline. The cottages are serviced daily. For those cosy winter days, almost all of the cottages have open-log indoor fireplaces. All bedding and towels are provided as well as complimentary toiletries.
There are outdoor undercover braai areas available to all guests and firewood can be purchased onsite. The cottages are well-equipped for self-catering and also have TVs with selected DStv channels. Ample free parking is available to all guests. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
