Had a great time in the milking shed, such a rustic farm visit. Because of all the rain, the wooden doors have expanded a bit. It would have been nice if the doors on the inside had maybe a handle to pull open, because we had a bit of trouble getting the doors open in the morning because there isn't a proper handle on the inside to pull on not to pull The staff was very nice and always helpful if you asked for something. Thank you very much for that. The donkey was nice and warm.
The experience at Arpa was pleasant. Wonderful scenery & view! Average value for money. Friendly communication with owner and host & hostess. We understand the absence of 230V power in the unit, with solar for lights and a "donkey" for hot water. Only downside is that there is no hot water pressure in the shower, with a small amount in the kitchen. Unfortunately, this aspect affected the feedback quite a bit. But otherwise it was pleasant.
We were in Fouriesburg for a wedding at Affilande, so it was nice and close. Our two Jack Russels also went together and we (and the dogs) really enjoyed it. The bonfire was also very special in the evenings. There is nothing like sitting and staring at nature TV and visiting. The Bass pond (Emden Bass) was also quite close, so my son was treated to a few fish that he could catch and throw back. According to him, it was one of the most beautiful ponds he had ever fished in with beautiful clear water. As constructive criticism, I would only recommend a good shower head. A place wins points with me when the mattress is good for a good rest (which Arpa has) and good shower facilities. I tried opening the holes in the shower head, so it might be better now for the next guests. Also just a shame when the power is off, the water flow to the taps is also off. It was not a crisis for us. We showered when we could.
For a self catering there were no washing up facilities in the residence, door did not have a handle on the inside - difficult to open. No braai area at the accommodation. Location is great and hearts were hurt for the burned environment around us. Great place if you want to disconnect from everything electronic. Feel life has been great and the pond is beautifully clean.
Surroundings are amazing. Hiking is amazing, especially with a guide. Birdlife is incredible. Staff are amazing, helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much for them. It was a lovely relaxing time away.
We really enjoyed it. It's quiet, clean and the people are very friendly. There is no electricity, only solar for lights and 2 USB plugs. Refrigerator and stove work with gas and geyser with fire. It was a lovely weekend. Close to Clarens and Golden Gate and 4 km from Fouriesburg with cute restaurants. The workers are very helpful and friendly.

Arpa's rates are very reasonable - so much so that we were worried! According to the owner, he mainly saves on operating costs by not supplying bedding or Eskom power. There are electric lights and mobile phone/USB charging points which d. m. f. solar power and batteries work. Our whole family really enjoyed the time. Friendly and helpful staff.
It's wonderful to wake up in peace with the greeting of a beautiful sunrise and mountains surrounding you. The solar, gas and donkey contributed to the silence, rest and peace. Had enough hot water and the fridge kept cool and meat was frozen. Fantastic that the dog could go along.
This was our second visit to Arpa, this time we stayed in Bleshoender because we went as a family of 8. It was a very nice visit and Sylvester received us kindly and made sure that there was always wood and hot water as we needed it. He also went to show the children the cave, something they thoroughly enjoyed. The view from the kitchen is picturesque, the sleeping place comfortable and the sitting area on the stoep is nicely furnished. We will visit Arpa again soon.

We had an enjoyable stay. We were welcomed by the friendly staff who took great care of us ensuring we had hot water morning and night. The house is compact and cozy. The furnace provided much-needed warmth in the evenings. It was a great time for family one-on-one time, hiking, photography and relaxing with the beautiful nature and views surrounding you. Our dog also had an amazing time!

It was delicious. The owl house fit our face perfectly. The view over the pond and the mountains was beautiful, and the night sounds of the foxes and the frogs were something special. The location is great, far enough from Clarens to miss the tourists, but close enough for a quick visit. Thank you Christo for the hospitality and the good service.
First please electricity to at least charge phone and second please. the lights. It flickered on and off the whole time in the morning when I had to finish. Had a great time just needed electricity and a microwave oven.

Arpa exceeded all our expectations. Christo constantly made sure we were happy and equipped with everything we could need. The most beautiful view surrounds you and at night the stars are a feast to experience. We stayed in Uilhuis, which is nicely equipped with everything one could need. The teenagers could row on the dam, fish and Ishmael told us stories about the area. He also made sure that we had enough firewood and the donkey came to cook as we needed hot water. A piece of heaven. The fact that there is no power really makes you feel like you are getting away from the rat race. We will definitely visit again!
We stayed in the Owl House. It is a cozy little house with a nice veranda overlooking the pond. It is also slightly set aside from the other accommodation which makes it quite private. The cottage has everything you need, pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, dish soap, cloths and so on. There is a barbecue area at the side of the house. When it's cold, it's also nice to just sit in the house and read. The sun shines beautifully through the large windows. There is also a stove/fireplace that we lit when it was a bit cold. We walked out the hill with the children and dogs, fished in the pond, rowed and just sat in the sun. Christo and his team constantly made sure that we were satisfied and comfortable. The fact that there is no electricity did not bother us at all. The lights in the house work with solar power and Christo's team makes delicious hot water with the donkey. We were able to charge our phones using A USB point that uses solar energy. We were looking for a place where we could rest and it was definitely Arpa.
A wonderful weekend - from doing nothing, to fishing for the children at the pond and mountain climbing for the men. It's a beautiful picture there with the pond that is right in front of the owl house and out the bedroom window are the mountains. I put pictures on my status and got so many inquiries. Will recommend Arpa for sure.
Arpa Adventure Farm was a fantastic long weekend destination. There was everything we could need. The views are so beautiful and the accommodation is simple with the focus on the nature around you. It's also nice that it's close enough to Clarens, Fouriesburg and the Golden Gate Nature Reserve! We will definitely visit Arpa again!
My husband wanted fishing, I wanted mountains and hiking, and we wanted to have our dogs with us. Arpa has it all! The Uilhuis is basically on the water, so my husband could literally fish from our deck, and there is a mountain a few hundred meters away! Our dogs loved swimming (even in the pouring rain) in the dam. The house is fully kitted, neat, tidy and clean! Loved every second! We were stuck inside for about 2 days due to rain, but with the fireplace going, cosy couch and something good to read, we didn't mind it for one second! Christo is a great host! Called me as soon as the booking was made to chat, and got in touch throughout the stay to ensure we want for nothing! Thank you, Christo, for caring and we will definitely see Arpa again!

Even though it rained just about the entire weekend, we enjoyed every moment. The Uil Huis was so cute and cozy. The kids loved keeping the fire going and fishing off the deck. They rowed and played in the dam. We had such an awesome time and Christo and Sylvester were so so amazing. Thank you.

Arpa is a peaceful, eco-friendly farm with cute little houses and a lovely pond to row on. It is situated in a beautiful setting not far from Clarens. Christo was a good host with suggestions for activities in the area and Sylvester was very nice and helpful. He even washed our dishes daily which was a pleasant surprise. We had a great time and would definitely recommend Arpa.
The family rested wonderfully, fished and swam, the workers are very helpful and friendly.
Christow as very nice and called a few days ahead of time to make arrangements. He made sure that we were comfortable and Sylvester received us at the farm. Sylvester also lit the fireplaces and filled the kettles even without us having to ask for them. It was wonderful. It was terribly cold, but with the fireplaces and enough warm clothes we enjoyed the stay so much. The stars are breathtaking!

So much hospitality, kindness and service is rare. It is ideally located if you want to explore the area or even go for a day hike in the Drakensberg. It is also close to the border to Lesotho for an overnight stop before crossing the border. It is very well equipped, clean, lots of wood, lovely hot water.
We were very kindly received by Ishmael who showed us where what is. He spoiled us with lots of wood to make a fire the whole night long, because it was ice cold. Christo came to greet us in the late afternoon and we had a nice chat. We had a lovely stay as a family and we will recommend Arpa anytime!
Words cannot describe how lovely our family reunion at Apra was. It was an absolutely breathtaking getaway from the hubbub of the city. The ablution facilities are pretty, modern and always clean. The workers were so friendly, especially Sylverster who greeted us every day with a big smile on his face and was always willing to assist. We didn't have to ask for anything twice. Our family was completely rested after the week's stay and quite sad to go. Gathering around the campfire was priceless. The fresh air and outings were also a treat. We even held a fishing competition amongst ourselves and managed to catch a few big ones. I would recommend Arpa anytime and we are already planning to go relax there again. Once again, thank you so much to Christo and his team.

For someone who likes peaceful, untouched nature with views that will leave you speechless, the place is perfect. There is more than enough braai wood. Ismael and Sylvester always offer a helping hand. In one word: soul food.
If you at all like a more simple, "rustic" place to stay, Arpa will not disappoint! The houses are equipped with everything you need, lots of character with exceptional finishes. The facilities are basic but we really enjoyed it! It's a little too close to the road, that's the only negative in terms of location but it wasn't disturbing. Sylvester was lovely and went out of his way to help us! We had to blow dry hair for a wedding and when the generator didn't want to cooperate, Christo very quickly arranged that we could finish it at a neighboring farm. It was lovely and just took the service from very good to excellent! We greatly appreciate it! Definitely worth it.
We only stayed one night so didn't use all the facilities available. The units are spacious, neat and comfortable. Really value for money.
We stayed there for 2 day and we had a nice time! It is close to the boarder of Lesotho and also to Clarens. There are enough bedrooms and the bathroom is so amazing! There is a nice place to braai and also to make a fire! The view is so beautiful, it is between the mountains and if you want to, you can hike to the top of the one that is closed to the place you stay. At Arpa Farm there is also a little lake and they have raftboats. The owner is so friendly and nice. The same for the two persons who work there! They were so nice and wanted to do everything for you! We had a wonderful two days.

We used Arpa to sleep over after a wedding. It was exactly what we needed as we didn't spend a lot of time there, and didn't want to pay too much.
Good value for money. Will definitely go again. The rooms are also beautifully furnished, each with its own fireplace. We camped, and everything was fixed before our arrival. Friendly welcome by Christo. Wood was given to us for a fire. The bathrooms were neat and clean. We had a great time camping and took beautiful pictures at the dam.
Arpa was more than we expected. The host was in regular contact to make sure everything was ok.
