Very friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy and peaceful! Near Pta East hospital. The shower's pressure is only very low and did not have hot water in the evening, did have hot water in the morning. The toilet or sink leaks and wets the floor, just have to look after it. Thanks for everything. It is said that there is a generator for lights and TV for loadshedding, which was not the case, but there is a gas stove with boiler and emergency light.

The accommodation was comfortable. Here and there there are small things like finishes on the rooms that are not finished or look like that. Furthermore, everything is nice and peaceful and was able to get a good night's rest.

Bed quite comfortable, relaxing atmosphere, basic commodities available in the room e.g. bar fridge, crockery, cutlery, microwave and TV. A definite plus factor is the provision of a gas bottle and cooker plate available as a standard feature in the room for periods of load shedding. Upon arrival at 17h50, it was already very dark, the guest house sign board and street number on the dark background of the perimeter wall were completely illegible, we missed the entrance and eventually had to call the manager for assistance. He waited for us on the pavement with a torch to guide us toward the gate entrance. Very irritating not to be able to clearly see the name of the place in the dark. Further, there was no hot water the following morning in the shower. When we departed at 09h00, we would have liked to mention these issues to the owner, but she was not on the premises at the time. Apart from the lack of hot water, which we believe was a minor mishap for some reason, we would like to stay again at Arum Lily Guest Cottages, when my wife needs to visit the Netcare Hospital again. It must be emphasised, the location of Arum Lily is ideal for people attending treatment at the nearby Netcare Hospital. Furthermore, the price for accommodation of this quality was really affordable.

Although the place is neat and clean, it appears shabby. Painted concrete floor, poor emergency lighting and bathroom facilities not what one would expect from a 4-star place. Towels clean, but old and hard. No hanging space for clothes/nightwear in bathroom. The curtain in front of the enormous shower can easily be replaced with a shower door. The shower area can be made smaller and a European type shower installed. Actually, the bathroom needs a total renovation. The parking area is very tight. The wall in the sleeping area behind the door can be removed for another bedside table. A better plan could certainly be made with the microwave and kettle setup. At the moment, the kettle is on top of the microwave and could result in injury or electric shock. Furthermore, the place is well located and if the improvements, as suggested, are made, it will be an excellent stopover.

Everything was very neat and clean when we got there. All I would recommend is the parking. There were guests who arrived before us and we could not get in next to their vehicle to park under the roof. Other than that everything was perfect. The DSTV was out of order and the one room had a funny smell on arrival. Furthermore, if is neat and clean, would definitely recommend the place.

Upon our arrival we were kindly received by William. We were taken to our rooms. At first glance everything looked neat, but the more we saw I realized these rooms needed maintenance. The plank floors in one room must have received water damage at some point and the planks were lifted. The bathroom window was an ordinary window and had no curtain or blind so anyone could look in there. The bottom sheet also looked like it hadn't been changed, it was dirty and had hair on it. The "skylight" was also sprayed with what looks like a can of spray paint. The other room had water damage on the ceilings in the room and the bathroom. We had no hot water on Friday night and thought that the other guests might have used up the water. Saturday morning we still had no hot water and William tried to save the matter, but we signed out and went to bathe elsewhere. The one room is also directly next to the house and at 1 o'clock in the morning my daughter woke me up because she couldn't sleep due to the person in the house snoring and the TV still on - all could be heard through the door leading to the house. I read the previous reviews and saw that there was mention of the window without a curtain/blind on a previous occasion and it was said that it was going to be replaced. Also that Covid - with all its limitations - meant that maintenance could not be carried out, but if this is the case, guests should not be received there until all maintenance work can be carried out. The price is also average for the area so it's definitely not that I took the cheapest accommodation. I will definitely not be staying at Arum Lily again.

Would have liked Sunlight Liquid to rinse out cups. On Sunday morning, the gardeners started sweeping in front of our window and talking, which I feel you don't do on a Sunday. Other than that, we had a great stay!

The paint on the floor is peeling, work has been done on the ceiling and hole has not been repaired. The kitchen cupboard has been painted, but the paint job is poor and paint is on the edge of the top surface. A pane of glass is missing from the large side board. The place looks tired. The location is good, but the photos on the website are misleading. The rooms need to be repainted, especially the floor in room 1. The second time we checked in we got Room 2, there was no soap or shampoo provided. Milk was provided, but not replenished. There was only one cereal bowl. There is no sink, except the bathroom basin, but one cannot refill the kettle from the basin because it is too small. The advert says something about a private deck, there is no private deck. It was disappointing.

The room did not smell fresh. Every carpet in the room was dirty, as if it had not been washed with soap. The bath had not been washed, the tiles in the bathroom around the bath and shower had stains everywhere, it was not pleasant to shower there. Furthermore, the bedding was nice and clean and the aircon was a big plus, but the room definitely needs more attention with specific attention to small detail. The shelves of the cupboards, which are white, were brown and looked like people were moving their shoes around on them. The extension cord is also brown from the fabric where the two prong plugs plug in. Other than that we found the place easily, we were greeted immediately and had covered parking which was a big plus with the heavy weather we had.

It's our second time at Arum Lily and once again had a very nice overnight stay on the way to the Kruger National Park from the Cape. It is centrally located, safe and the room is very spacious and we were also received kindly. Will recommend for sure.

Arum Lily Guest Cottages is really the ideal place if you have to visit Pretoria East Hospital. Besides being stylishly decorated, it is clean and tidy and effort has been put into the smaller details. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Arum Lily is right opposite a restaurant and bad 6 min from the hospital and Mall. Will definitely visit again if we are in Moreleta area.

Deidre went out her way to accommodate our need for warmth and comfort in a week of cold weather. After a long day at a conference, we came back to a warm room which was immaculately cleaned and prepared for our next night. The heater was switched on every night before we arrived back. Richard, her help, was always very friendly and helpful.

On arrival I was offered a parking (I had a trailer). I went out and came back and it was given away to another client. I had to spend quite some time trying to squeeze into the only other parking available. If I went and got dinner there was nowhere to sit and eat it - I don't like eating my dinner on a bed. The TV was not working - perhaps because the toaster and microwave are on either side of the TV - and you have to squeeze past the fridge to get to the bed? I just found it to squashed and not practically laid out. The owner did eventually get the TV working - very limited DStv channels. So overall I would not return to this property. This after I was told by the website that I got upgraded (?) due to a misunderstanding not having picked up the payment that was indeed made.

I can recommend this unit and of course our pooch was welcome, which was much appreciated.
