163 guests' feedbackArumvale never disappoints. Extremely neat and clean. Very tasty. Silence and peace surround one. Most beautiful view. Very friendly reception. Everything one needs. Can recommend Arumvale with the utmost confidence.
It was the most beautiful and so much peace around you! It was refreshing and delicious! Everything was perfect! And the host is amazing! Thank you very much!
The tranquility of self with the most beautiful view of the valley.
Great long weekend out of CT. The accommodation is located just out of town in a beautiful valley with the most amazing views. Our highlight was our morning coffees on the upstairs balcony.
It was an incredibly fun experience!
Fantastic. Friendly, clean and beautiful place.
Staff were very helpful, even the owner. Parking, view, pictures, everything was just perfect. I got the feeling that if I were a book writer, it would have been the perfect escape to write or refocus.
Arumvale's service was excellent. It's one of the best places I've ever stayed. I recommend it for sure!
Everything we needed was in the cottage. It was spacious and the trees are beautiful.
Beautiful place. Very private.
The host received us kindly and was very helpful with any queries.
Magical location, perfectly situated to explore Swellendam and the pristine Marloth Nature Reserve. My kid loved the vegetable garden and picking fruit in the small orchard. We had one night solo (1 adult, 1 child) before our friends arrived, and felt safe and secure at the accommodation.
Lovely peaceful place to stay, private, comfortable, with beautiful views of the beautiful well-kept gardens of the place of stay, rural green farm surroundings and nearby mountains. This was my second time at the accommodation and I can highly recommend it. Just outside Swellendam but close enough to the many restaurants in town and other attractions in the area.
We had an amazing time at Arumvale. The staff were very friendly. What an amazing gorgeous place, you need to experience this for yourself.
Sam greeted me and helped with the check-in. Lovely little spot. Lots of attention to decor and very tasteful. The only issue would be if someone in the unit above you; the wooden floor means you hear them stomping around and using the bathroom, etc.
It is a very beautiful, special place. We will come again.
See stars.
Both beautiful and tranquil surroundings. There was nothing that was not thought of, and the views from our balcony were stunning. The host and his staff were very welcoming, and I would definitely recommend.
Lovely - just a bit worried about safety, no burglar bars and had to close all windows at night. Although I assume that there have been no or few cases in the quiet town of Swellendam where tourists have been attacked, the absence of anti-theft protection as a single woman made me sleep restlessly. Furthermore, it is a wonderful peaceful place and beautiful guest house. The TV also only offered one channel. Also would have appreciated a Netflix as an option.
I was shocked at first when the door was opened, with a huge swarm of flies flying around inside - the receptionist then got hold of a can of doom and started spraying, then left a self-release poison syringe in the room which every now and then and then sprayed. But after the episode and with flies under control we were able to move in and enjoyed the accommodation especially the beautiful view as well as all the bird sounds of a farm life.
We would recommend it if you are looking for a place where you can rest and appreciate the surroundings.
Only suggestion is to perhaps add a small table to use on outside stoep. Overall brilliant.
My body is back home, but my heart and soul have remained at Arumvale Country Retreat's cottage. I go again, and again, my eyes will never see and hear enough of that magical place.
Arumvale was beautiful and we will visit again.
Arumvale Country Retreat is really that beautiful and the view of the Swellendam mountains unbeatable! We stayed at Anneline Garden Cottage and what a gem it is! The little treats, e.g. soap and shampoo, bathroom towels, spices, milk, biscuits and many more show that the owners have thought of everything! There is a fireplace with plenty of wood which warmed a cold winter evening! There is even an herb garden from which you can pick ingredients for cooking. Full DStv is also available, but who wants to watch when you have bushveld TV (fire)! Thank you very much, Carol, for your kindness. George and Beverly, I will definitely be visiting again!
Me, my husband and our 2 dogs had a great time at Arumvale. We will definitely go again, the farm is in a beautiful setting and we were able to go for a nice walk and jog with the dogs. Service was very good and staff were nice.
Well deserved break away. Peaceful, safe environment.
Arumvale accommodation was wonderful! Beautiful surroundings for walking or mountain biking. Cows in the field and nice fat chickens that roam free. In the afternoon we stretched out on the deck with a glass of wine and a fire burning. Everything that could be needed is available. Thank you very much George for a nice 3 day visit and all the information about walking routes and cycle paths. We will definitely come to show face again! Swellendam area is beautiful!
Just what we needed to recharge. I would definitely recommend Arumvale Country Retreat for a getaway.
I had a very nice stay. Everything needed to make my trip comfortable. Most beautiful views.
Spacious unit and well furnished with everything one needs. Neat, tidy and clean. Incredible view of the mountains. Blissful with the natural beauty and silence. Can recommend Arumvale Country Retreat 100%.
Was very warmly welcomed and knew from the start it was going to be a lovely time at Arumvale. The pool was a bonus and the kids really enjoyed it, not even loadshedding spoiled the fun. Definitely a place to go back to.
Stunning location! Kitchen well equipped. Bathroom has Rain products, which is such a treat.
Accommodation is tidy and contains everything needed. The bed is particularly comfortable. The shower does not have a door, so the floor is wet and slippery after a shower. There are rechargeable lights that help a lot, but attention can be paid to alternative power during load shedding.
It was very nice to take a break from the city. The fresh air and greenery was something to look forward to after a good night's rest.
Lovely cottage with everything you need and more! Unfortunately, didn’t spend much time at the cottage! The only complaint was the footsteps above your head, late at night (wooden floor). But if you’re not a light sleeper that won’t be a problem!
Perfect place to spend time in winter. Beautiful restaurants in the nearby town of Swellendam.
Overall, our stay at Arumvale was lovely and enjoyable. The bed was comfortable and the views from the stoep of the Samantha cottage are breathtaking. George was incredibly friendly and helpful. They also have almost all the amenities one could think of - including pre-packed Weber/braai. The Nguni grazing the field in front of the cottage was a treat as were the various wild birds that came to greet us on the stoep. However, there is one aspect that significantly detracted from our stay - cleanliness. It felt as if the cottage hadn’t been deep cleaned in a while. The bedding and towels were clean and there were no obvious stains etc. on the floor. Understandably, the Estate is on a farm off a dirt road, so dust is to be expected as well as a few spiderwebs here and there. However, there was a significant amount of dust build-up on less-trafficked areas (behind the headboard, on the shelf in the bathroom, etc.). This was usually accompanied by spiderwebs (including dead daddy long-legs so these were old webs). In the bathroom, the shower rack was covered in grimy soap-build up and there were toothpaste stains on the mirror. The counters also felt a bit sticky. Overall though our stay was very enjoyable and I can highly recommend Arumvale for the magnificent views alone.
My children enjoyed playing up and down the stairs and in all the fun nooks and crannies this cottage offers. There is a friendly puppy on site in case you have kids that are scared of dogs.
Recommendation. Modify the parking area to be more user friendly, because there is too little space and it is too slanted. Dry outdoor seating in the morning after rain and dew to be usable.
We stayed 10 successive nights in different guesthouses from Nieu-Bethesda to Knysna to Karoo places to Stellenbosch and this place was between 28% and 89% more expensive, than any of the others we used, with an average of about 45% more expensive. Compared to all the others it was not in the same class and presented poor value. Maintenance and cleanliness are not up to standard. Parking is a nightmare if you have a trailer. 3 vehicles of the owner stand under the roof whilst guests have to park in spaces that are very restricted. It has a beautiful view of the mountains as a positive.
Spacious living area and outside eating area. Thanks George, a great stay and lovely garden ambience with great views of the Langeberg Mountains.
Lovely facilities with the most beautiful view! So quiet and peaceful, we never even turned on the TV to fully enjoy the silence.
It's an indescribably beautiful farm filled with so many elements of breathtaking! Wonderful people George and Bev, you feel right at home with such hospitality! Would recommend Arumvale anytime!
Homey and lovely stay. Great attention to detail with a lovely location and views.
Rustic cottage charm. This was one of the best stays we ever had. We decided on the rustic garden cottage and was spoilt with the most amazing unhindered view of the nearby mountains, green pastures and a beautiful garden with arum lilies. The cottage used to be workers quarters, it's cosy, beautifully decorated, private, tranquil and away from the main building with private parking right next to the cottage. It's also dog friendly. The owners' friendly and playful dog also came over to visit. It was cold during our two-night stay, but the fireplace warmed up the cottage. The cottage is also serviced and filter coffee was replenished. The owner, George was very welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home. The cottage is highly recommended for a couple, also close to Swellendam, one of our most beautiful old towns.
The unit is beautiful and well equipped. The view through the large windows on the green grass and mountains creates a very peaceful atmosphere. My visit was short, but it's the ideal place to switch off and relax.
Very nice and peaceful place.
The cottage is unique, and we had a wonderful stay. Quiet and peaceful there. The view is also special. The amenities were 100%.
It was so peaceful and romantic with the fireplace, would have liked to stay longer.
Our travel plans changed and could only stay at Arumvale for one night. Really regret it because it was the best experience ever. Despite load shedding, we were welcomed by very friendly staff. Room was equipped with everything and more. Fireplace was packed, ready to light. Electric blanket on bed was very welcome, as Swellendam was wet and cold. After our Around the Pot Mountain Bike Race, we were able to enjoy a nice hot shower even though we had already "checked out". Many thanks again to Arumvale's staff, will definitely be able to recommend you at all times.
Beautiful unit with more than all the necessary amenities.
Just an overnighter, but very pleasant and laid back, lovely scenery on the farm, with beautiful mountain view. Well equipped, as advertised. Will go back!
Just fantastic, we didn't want to come home.
I can definitely recommend them. Safe, value for money and the most beautiful view.
George welcomed us and looked after us well. Tastefully furnished apartments in a quiet setting.
Excellent service on arrival and a very neat and clean unit.
We hoped to have an isolated mountain stay and our accommodation at Arumvale did not disappoint. The host, George Missing, is extremely accommodating and goes out of his way for his guests. We enjoyed picking our own fresh salad leaves to go with dinner. The property is also very close to the Swellendam MTB trailhead.
We had a feast. We are already planning the next trip. Thanks Arumvale.
We had a very nice, peaceful evening here, the view and surroundings were beautiful and the accommodation was clean, tidy and safe. We will definitely be back again.
Cute well appointed cottage, not far from town, but which feels like you are in the Alps. Friendly service. Our 2nd visit and will be back again!
The beautiful, peaceful surroundings and perfect service made it an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended.
Very nice host. Fresh vegetables from his vegetable garden were delicious.
What a charming place. The farm setting is perfect and the views are astounding. The unit is beautifully decorated and well-equipped. Surprisingly the floor in our unit was obviously dirty and could do with a good scrub. Other than that, a great place to relax.
Great accommodation for a stopover.
We stayed 2 nights in the rustic cottage, we enjoyed our stay, despite a few things that bothered us and challenges with a heavy downpour. The unit was separate from the guest house and you could park your car next to the cottage which was very nice. The cottage is rustic and offers you a farm atmosphere, with a beautiful view of the mountains, which we loved. The cottage consists of an open plan sleeping area with a double bed, the bed has a mosquito net on it with white linen. The mosquito net had a dirty watermark and was torn in two places, and the linen was a bit shabby. The bed was comfortable, but had no headboard, nor were there any bedside tables or bedside lamps. It does show that way in the photos, so I can't really complain about it, it wasn't inconvenient. There was a cupboard behind the bed with two lamps and a plug where you could charge your mobile phone. I was very happy about the hair dryer that was provided. The bathroom had 2 tall stairs that were not mentioned in the description, which was very difficult for me as I have difficulty walking. The bathroom also does not have a door, only a curtain which is not sufficient for privacy. The other problem was, my husband bumped his head a few times going down the stairs from the bathroom to the room. There should be a sign warning you so you can be careful. The water in the shower did not drain quickly while showering, and you stood in the water while showering. We brought this to the owner's attention, which he undertook to attend to. The sink had hand soap. Another problem was that the bathroom window could not open, it made the small bathroom feel stuffy. The hot water for the shower was soon nice and warm. The white bath towels were also a little tired. The kitchen was very, very small and only one person could be in the room at a time. There were also 2 high stairs again that were not mentioned in the description. The up and down was just a struggle for me. There was a fridge, sink, microwave oven, cutlery, plates and glasses available to make your stay comfortable. There was also dish soap. A table and two chairs were in the open living area where you could eat comfortably. There was also a couch by a teller that couldn't open either. There was a fan which helped to make the cottage a bit cooler. What we enjoyed the most was the covered patio where you could barbecue and just sit quietly to appreciate the beautiful mountains and view. Luckily we had nice weather and a beautiful sunset the first night. Loadshedding was with us again, there was a lamp and candles, but bring your own for more light. There was a heavy downpour the next day, which brought its own challenges, but a story to tell another time. We enjoyed our stay, the owner was very friendly and helpful, and we experienced excellent service. We can recommend Arumvale Country Retreat, I just suggest that the owner put the description of the stairs from the bathroom and kitchen, put a sign by the stairs in the bathroom and maybe replace the linen and fix the mosquito net. This was our 2nd time staying at Arumvale, last time we stayed in the luxury Carol self-catering unit. Thank you for an unforgettable 2 days.
Parking is just awkward with little space for many vehicles, difficult to get in and out. There is maintenance that needs attention.
Roof a bit low for tall people.
The load shedding was a bit silly, but the farm feel is very nice. Plekkie is very cute and unique. Old restored windows that don't close tightly here and there, but nothing serious. Place is neat. Bedding has broken spots here and there that can be addressed. Service was very friendly, children really enjoyed taking out the cows and chicken eggs. Feels like farm. Can definitely recommend it.
The dog came into our unit and took out and destroyed one of my sandals. I immediately went to report it and then had to run after the person in management to find out if I was going to be compensated for my damage. No apology or acceptance of blame for my harm. The next morning I was compensated at my insistence and shown the way very unkindly and by then I couldn't wait to get out of there. Arumvale never sees me again.
This was definitely a Christmas to remember. George went over and beyond ensuring all our needs were met. Great host, he was accompanied by the friendliest staff. This is a perfect place to switch off, and catch up on all the sleep that was overdue. Thanks again for your great services George and team!
We had a lovely stay.
We needed a break during the lockdown. George, the host, saw to all our needs and the cottage and location were fantastic! Soft, white linen on beds, lovely fireplace and full DStv. Incredible view of the mountains, but also just 5 min from the center of town. The weekend felt like a whole week's worth of relaxing. We will definitely return.
Tranquility at best. If you are in need of experiencing and breathing in nature and fresh air, this is the place. The breathtaking majestic mountainscapes surroundings are an absolute treat. This spot is perfect for decompressing and breaking away from the city's buzz. The staff is also very kind and helpful.
We stayed in the beautiful Rustic Garden Cottage, separate from the main guest house and an authentic, well appointed unit. It's an old worker's cottage that has been transformed into a neat, cozy place to stay. We had the most beautiful view over green grasslands and the mountains behind Swellendam. Even in winter it is comfortable, because there is a nice indoor fireplace and a heater. A nice place to stay for any season! Would definitely recommend it.
It was perfect, clean and fully kitted!
We had a great stay, the service was 5 star.
Friendly and efficient staff and owners.
Was the best getaway. Beautiful, quiet and children thoroughly enjoyed it.
Honest and genuine owners, we had to check out a night early and they let us know someone had arrived and they could rent out the room and refund us. Incredible view!
Incredibly beautiful, nice people and easy access to everything Swellendam has to offer. Definitely see us again.
Absolutely beautiful setting with everything you need. Perfect for a weekend break, uninterrupted views, divine swimming pool, beautiful lush green gardens, and friendly staff. Very very chuffed with this gem, definitely going back!
The rural environment complemented by the surrounding mountains definitely makes Arumvale an oasis where the city's noise and troubles can be left behind. It is a place of rest and relaxation where you can recharge your batteries.
Gordon is a passionate owner/host. The house was right in front of the cattle pens. The nice fresh air was fantastic. Everything was there, well equipped, neat and clean. The cleaners and garden worker are very friendly! Anytime I would recommend this place!
Spectacular scenery, silence away from the rat race, peacefulness and hospitality of everyone in the area make it unforgettable. Lovely walking trails. Will definitely visit longer next time.
We were only for one night. Didn't stay very long to enjoy the whole experience. Owners are very friendly and helpful. The location and view are breathtaking.
I enjoyed my stay very much.
Great place, dog-friendly. Cows are the best part.
Cottage is a bit close to a dirt road which is right next to the house.
Stayed in a very nice room. The four poster bed was very nice. Very nice to be quiet in the winter in front of the fireplace with the view of the farm and mountains.
Lovely garden and view of the small holdings. Beautiful garden and vegetable garden. George came to greet me at the gate and helped me with my luggage. Lovely walk with my dog on the farm road.
Fantastic setting and view.
Very neat. Uncle George's service is excellent and friendly. We try to go once a year.
Reception was okay, staff friendly, place was clean and fully equipped. Just a pity we only stayed 1 night.
Friendly and professional reception, very neat and clean room and facilities, beautiful surroundings.
The place was not at all what we thought it would be but adequate, one night was more than enough to stare at the beautiful views and explore the beautiful town.
The Farmhouse Cottage really is a fantastic little place, but after a few hours in the cottage, more and more things started to go wrong. Cobwebs, dust, loose faucets, a refrigerator whose freezer compartment was frozen, a pool of blood under the plate of the microwave oven and dirty bedding. The owner was kind enough to refund us and did apologize for our experience. We are people who can live with many things, but the standard of cleanliness and beauty is something that should always be held in high regard.
Accommodation with friendly owners. The dogs really enjoyed the open spaces. The accommodation was well furnished with everything one could wish for.
We slept in the special "rustic" cottage. Absolutely ideal for a couple who want to live in comfort, yet have an earthy experience. It's completely private, beautiful and exquisitely furnished with a rural, panoramic view of the majestic mountain. Absolutely worth an overnight stay!
Well equipped accommodation, with beautiful views! We were received hospitably and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Sal weer besoek, was great om die area te verken. Sal meer trail running doen.
We had such a good time. Everything was neat and clean. A house where you can relax!
Friendly and helpful reception. Invited to use any vegetable in the organic vegetable garden.
Beautiful unit with nice big porch. The view over the mountains is fantastic. We had a great barbecue on the large porch and also enjoyed dinner there. The farm atmosphere adds to the tranquility and we will definitely stay there again.
A little out of town, real farm feel with cows in camp in front of the door. Nice old building, well furnished, beautiful view of mountains.
Very nice location, great service
The plant species are special.
Very relaxing accommodation in beautiful surroundings.
Chairs outside full of bird droppings and dog and animal hair. Living room sofas uncomfortable. DStv remote functions very difficult (must be replaced). If corrected it will ensure repeat visitors.
Despite a friendly host and a breathtaking environment, our stay at Arumvale was disappointing. We didn't sleep well. No privacy, extreme heat, flocks of insects, various important equipment not working (doors, taps, blinds), the unit was not clean when we arrived, torn curtains. Not worth four stars.
We have stayed at Arumvale more than once and have never been disappointed. George always makes an effort to help where he can and their guest house is neat and comfortable.
This was an excellent guest house. The suite we stayed in had great decor, wonderful bedroom and stunning views.
With young kids all of our challenges and concerns were addressed by the host and his exceptional attention to detail. It was a pleasant experience en-route to Cape Town.
Had a lovely stay, quiet and nice location. Is near the town.
Met with fresh milk and eggs!
We had a very nice stay at Arumvale. It's just what you need if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We love to braai and the braai was cleaned every day and new wood was packed in the braai as well as in the fireplace. There were seeds left for the birds if you wanted to feed them.
Unbelievable view from the veranda and the couch in front of the window! The swimming pool is a bonus in the summer and we had a great braai.
Wonderful stay. Clean and comfortable accommodations.
Unit was very clean and tidy. Fantastic fire place.
Incredible scenery and delicious experience!
Arumvale is a lovely place to spend the night or even a few nights. It's located in a valley, picturesque and just outside the town of Swellendam. The unit was neatly and stylishly furnished with white towels and bed linen. We regretted not being able to stay longer!
Would definitely recommend Arumvale.
Spent a lovely weekend here with the whole family. Farm feel and excellent service. Very comfortable. Would recommend.
We had a great stay, it's so beautiful, the most beautiful view, cute and friendly staff.
Great farm destination. Beautiful view of the mountains and even a cattle pen next door to enhance the farm experience. Not that the flat feels 'affie farm' at all. It was luxurious, well looked after, stylishly furnished and the fireplace in winter just makes it the ideal getaway.
Beautiful setting and calm, relaxing environment. Perfect place for a relaxing weekend and to recharge your batteries.
Beautiful location with views of mountains and working farm next door. There were, however, two incidents that weren't pleasant to us: 1. The hostess and assistant weren't rude, but weren't enthusiastic and friendly and didn't sufficiently answer our questions about the area and activities. 2. The pictures and info on the website gives the impressions that there are walking trails on and around the farm, but upon arrival we learned that the guesthouse only owns a plot and the farm next door is not open to hikers. Neither were there any nice walking trails from the house. Other trails were only accessible with car. The above didn't spoil our weekend and we still had a good time at the well equipped little house in tranquil surrounds.
Dit is die oulikste plekkie met als wat jy nodig het. En die uitsig is pragtig.
In Swellendam one couldn't ask for better than Arumvale, peaceful farm atmosphere, lovely views, lovely rooms. The self-catering units are very well equipped, even brewed coffee was provided. Really enjoyed the stay and will definitely be back!
Will recommend it to anyone. The hospitality and welcome reception as well as the units and location are fantastic.
We had a special time in Swellendam. The location is something special and ideal for a peaceful getaway. We will definitely use the accommodation again. I advise anyone to give this accommodation a try.
Very quiet area with stunning nature.
It was very cold but they went out of their way to make the place cozy and warm for us.
Arumvale is centrally located and there are so many attractions within 60 minutes from Swellendam. The accommodation was neat, clean and the interior of the rooms very tasteful. The view was breathtaking. George and Bev made us feel very much at home and were always there with a friendly greeting and interest in what we were doing that day and with suggestions of places to visit.
We can definitely recommend Arumvale, and already did. The units are stylishly furnished, yet without any frills and create a very peaceful atmosphere. There is absolutely nothing to improve on and our time there towers above the rest. It's at the bottom of the Langeberge which can be seen from the veranda. Arumvale is as pretty as a picture and I wish we could visit it again, take our mountain bikes and explore the area a bit more.
We enjoyed our stay in the Annelie Cottage. It's smaller than it seems to be on the photos. The shower didn't work well. The television was very small and there was no roasting dish. The bedding was nice and the place was cosy. We loved the fireplace. The service was also excellent.
A beautifully situated guest house just outside Swellendam. Very friendly service and it's very stylishly decorated. It also has everything a self-catering unit needs.
Neat and clean. Lovely view and a helpful, friendly owner!
Thumbs up for George, he makes you feel at home! Very neat and relax place. The interior very well set up.
Very nicely situated farm accommodation, which offers value for money.
Lovely units, location is excellent. Ideal for 2 people who want to explore the area or just want to relax a bit. The unit we stayed in gets lovely afternoon sun in the winter on the corner sofas.
We chose Arumvale because it had high ratings on the internet. Rather than staying in the main B&B, we opted to stay in (the best?) self catering "Anneline" cottage. While the B&B may be 4*, the cottage did not feel 4*. It appears to be a converted out-building, with two floors. It is very 'intimate' - the bedroom upstairs has little privacy from the couch-bed downstairs. There are no rooms - just one large space with a deck which serves at the upstairs. The toilets are similarly open plan, so you can be sitting downstairs and hear everything. The upstairs is quite nice however. In terms of amenities: wireless is advertised, but the signal is so patchy you have great difficulty getting anything. The TV is far too small for the space - we tried watching from the couch/bed, but gave up since you really couldn't see what was going on that well. There is a big fly problem, their is a dairy farm right next door and they were a constant irritant. We had ants all over the kitchen counter, getting into everything ... They provided automated fly spray didn't seem to work - never sprayed anything while we were there. The cows woke us up at 05:00 every morning - this was not welcome. The kitchen was not that well kitted out - we only had 3 forks, for example (for a 2 couple unit). The showers were the worst I have ever experienced in paid for accommodation: they switched from boiling to icy frequently as you showered. A morning shower is one of my great pleasures, so this was really unwelcome. Finally, there was parking - it is extremely tight, and required perilous reversing manoeuvres, especially if other guests parked slightly sloppily. The only plus really was the pool, which was great for a dip after a long hot day.
Absolutely stunning location with service unsurpassed! Will be back again!
Outstanding. Unforgettable!
From the reception to the departure was very nice!
Nice apartment, beautiful as a whole.
Friendly reception and warm atmosphere. We will definitely be back for a longer visit!
Arumvale is quiet and peaceful in beautiful surroundings. The host is friendly and helpful. I will stay there again.
We had a nice stay in a very nice environment! However, the Carol Suite only has a double bed in the bedroom, and not a queen size as in the description. The ants in the kitchen and bats in the roof were a bit disturbing, but will definitely visit Swellendam again!
We were kindly received and George and his staff were very helpful. The unit was neat, clean and well equipped. Only the ants in the kitchen had been a problem. Also would have liked it if there was a proper shower in the bathroom, and not just a handheld shower head in the tub. It was very peaceful on the guest farm with its breathtaking nature scenes and mountain views.
It's an amazing place, I can recommend it anytime. The service is great, the environment is amazing, and the town's people are stunning. Swellendam is just amazing and Arumvale is GREAT!
A wonderful time was had sitting in front of the fire and soaking up the surroundings. We will most definitely recommend Arumvale to friends & family.
It's such an awesome place, so comfortable, clean and peaceful, can recommend it to anyone and definitely stay there again myself... Tops!
George really goes out of his way to make his guests feel welcome. The accommodation is first class with a breathtaking view of the Heritage mountains. For us village lads a wonderful break away from the tranquility of farm life. Looking forward to our next visit at Arumvale.
Very pleasant night spent in a rustic cottage. Good value for money - wish we could have stayed longer! Only two small problems encountered: No spatula so was unable to fry eggs; solar electricity battery box started to buzz during the night.
Excellent views of the mountains and beautiful grounds The cutest ginger cat!
Good in all aspects.
Only down side was that there were no TV channels that we liked watching.
Enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area.I also liked the farm setup.
My wife & I live on a wine estate in Stellenbosch with Simonberg as our backdrop, so for us to be impressed says a lot about Arumvale. You shall see us again, often.
Arumvale was fantastic. The view is amazing. George is so friendly. The service was great and the self catering was really homely and cosy. We as a family had such a great time and will definitely be back. Thank you George!!
