Asemskep is a farm house surrounded by nature. Have you ever been awoken by bleating sheep? Well then you should visit Asemskep. It is the perfect place for someone who wants clean air, peace and quiet . The starry night sky is something to behold. Views over the veld, mountains and lucerne fields and sheep is something not to be missed. A wide variety bird species flock to the dam behind the house.
Amazing sunsets and the calming nature, without any disturbances, no TV or cellphone reception is something to look forward to. Mountain bikers and hikers can enjoy the trails. Depending on what time of year you visit us, you may experience sheep shearing and feeding a lamb or two.
Enjoy the fully furnished house with 4 bedrooms (one has an en-suite bathroom), a separate bathroom to share between the other 3 rooms. Lounge, sun room, kitchen and braai/BBQ area inside. We have a big lawn for children to play on. The lounge has a cosy wooden fireplace for those chilly Karoo evening.

Buks was very friendly and dealings with Beulah were effortless and quick. Our dogs enjoyed the large lawn and were able to browse around everywhere. The house was also wonderfully warm when we woke up, even with the light snowfall outside. Note, there is no cell phone reception in the yard or a long drive away.

Beulah is a wonderful hostess! We had a wonderful rest and would love to go back.
Asemskep is the perfect place to reset. Getting away from the influences of society. No internet, no television, no distractions. But emergency connections are available. I would like to go again when it is snowing.
Silence, stars, beauty and bliss.
It was exactly what we needed after a messy 2020. Big old farmhouse with wide hallway, big rooms and all the amenities needed for a nice peaceful farm break. The indoor braai was a big plus, because it rained almost every night. It was also great not to have a cell phone signal at home, but if you need to make a quick or emergency call there is a signal about 500 m away from the farmhouse. . Beulah received us very kindly and made sure we had everything we needed and knew where everything was and how everything worked. We were even invited over for a drink to her and Buks' house and we had a great time visiting and chatting. It rained 2 of the 3 days which was fantastic to experience in the Karoo. So we didn't use the pool. Nice mountain bike routes on beautiful farm roads in both directions from the farmhouse.
The dirt road from the N9 to Asemskep is very bad, From Nieu-Bethesda there are no directions and no signal for Google Maps. Very deserted, no vehicle encountered.
Very safe in an old renovated farm house. Quiet and peaceful with open area. House is clean and neat. Owners are very hospitable.
Beulah is a bundle of joy. She makes the extra effort. Took out the most beautiful Christmas decorations and put on the candle lights for us. The old trees on the site must be hundreds of years old, their diameter is probably more than 2 meters. After more than 1000 km for the day it was wonderful to be able to eat hot Karooplaas food and get into a nice clean bed early.
What a beautiful experience! Big and spacious inside, needs some work outside, but the setting is stunning. Beulah and Buks' hospitality was second to none. Our children and dogs thoroughly enjoyed it!
The accommodation and reception were very good. Friendly and clean and lovely farm atmosphere. Very well furnished and everything you might need is available. Very nice environment. The road to the farmhouse is more suitable for 4x4 vehicles at this stage.
Very convenient, spacious house in a quiet environment - away from the city. Well-equipped with everything that you need. For the teenager the absence of signal was a slight negative - maybe there is signal for another network. Felt very welcome. Would like to stay there again.
