Friendly reception, large, comfortable room (the sherry was a surprise). The roof terrace has a fantastic view of the mountains. We will be back for sure!

I know the bathrooms have recently been redone and it looks great so just my 2c worth. Perhaps a bigger floating shelf could be added to the bathroom for one's toiletries. The current one is very shallow/narrow and short so putting 2 people's toiletries on the shelf, does not work. No little cupboard is available in the bathroom so one toiletry bag and a cosmetic bag ends up on the floor. Perhaps a stronger globe could also be added to the bathroom as the light is very dim to do makeup. Above is just some positive feedback as in general, it was a lovely stay. Thank you.
This was a last-minute booking, which was well-managed by the host. We were well received and had a good stay. There is not enough room here to describe the early morning view of the mountain as the sun comes up. Thanks to all for a good stay.
Ash River Lodge is a superb choice for B&B accommodation. Close enough to town to walk, great food, friendly staff, amazing setting with views of the mountains. We loved it here.

We were personally welcomed by the owner on arrival. She first took us through the guest house and showed us our room where we stayed. She was also helpful with our luggage. We've received information about everything we could do in and around Clarens. In the evenings we had a great time sitting in the lounge by the fireplace. We will definitely stay there again when we go to Clarens and would definitely recommend Ash River Lodge.
Hit safety in showers with handles. Shower mats, tiles in shower smooth. Extra shelves in bathroom to unpack toiletries. More safety measures for senior citizens who are no longer so mobile. An electric kettle in the living area to make a cup of coffee or tea.

The driver was so friendly and helpful. He made us feel very welcome. He lit the fireplace in the living area and switched the warm blankets on for a cuddly bed for when we went to sleep. Unfortunately, they were late with breakfast that morning, I had to be at my client at 09:00 already and had to eat at 08:00, which was discussed with them. Otherwise, we will certainly stay there for a getaway weekend.

We decided to break away for my husband's birthday. The staff were friendly and helpful. The reception was really friendly. Breakfast was delicious - not too much, but more than enough. I asked them to do something for my husband's birthday and gave some money. When we returned to the room, there was a lovely platter with biltong, chocolates and sparkling wine with rose petals - nothing was too much for them to do. What a great weekend!

It was a very, very cold weekend in Clarens, but every time we returned from a trip to the village there was a lovely log fire and the electric blankets on our beds were switched on. Although Ash River Lodge is not located within convenient walking distance of town centre, it offers a true escape for city dwellers. Cleanliness, hospitality and homeliness are the resort's outstanding features. Thanks to Mike Botha, Senzo Maduna and the other friendly staff.
The manager went out of his way to make sure that we found the lodge. We arrived after 19:00, and we were welcomed in by Mike who made a plan to store our mountain bikes. The breakfast was the best!! Beautiful view overlooking the mountain from our room and spacious patio. Thanks Mike and staff. The lodge is very neat and comfortable. I highly recommend Ash River Lodge.
