We stay at Asher Stable Stay every year during the Meiringspoort mountain bike races. Very hospitable, and the rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen could be upgraded, and the equipment is minimal. If all the rooms are fully booked, there is not enough equipment in the common kitchen for everyone. No bowls to serve salad in, and for a beautiful guest farm like Asher Stable Stay, it would make sense to pay attention to the kitchen facilities.

The stables have been beautifully converted into rooms. Very neat and clean. It is ideal for groups of friends, each has its own room with bathroom and then you hang out together at the common braai area with a common kitchen. We were kindly received. The rooms are on the olive farm, which received the prize for the best olive oil in the world. We could buy some of the olive oil there.

The views and setting were outstanding but the fact that no insect (mosquito) repellant or mosquito net available was a negative. If we had been prewarned to bring our own we would have done so. The fact room had no window was also claustrophobic.
We had a very nice stay. It was very neat and we would definitely recommend it.
We stayed in the last of a row of six units, with No. 1 having a very attractive and adequate kitchen. There did not appear to be any other guests. The WiFi router is in the kitchen, so we had to sit in the kitchen to get internet access. Everything worked well - nice shower, fridge, kettle, and two individually wrapped delicious rusks. We were on bicycles and had to wash clothes. I carried a suitable cord which I was able to string between a couple of fence posts to dry the washing.
Was a wonderful stay. I would add a half litre of milk as not everyone uses Cremora.

After a long day driving through stunning scenery from Maclear, it was a fitting end to a great day of scenic wonders. The view over the valley of Olive Grove was just great.

It was very nice to spend the night at Asher Stable Stay. Neatly clean and very cutely furnished. Air conditioning in the room helped a lot. Barbecue facilities with wood available and a shared kitchen with all the equipment.
Better planning is needed if you want to stay longer. Would also be ideal for a group that comes walking, cycling etc.

I am in love with the place. It is for sure one of the most beautiful and cleanest places I have ever stayed. The view from your private porch is beautiful and it's also perfect for looking at the Karoosterre. There is nothing negative to say. I didn't use the communal kitchen, but everything was clean and there was more than enough wood for all the braai. I will definitely stay there again!

The site was very clean. Adequate wood was supplied for a fire. Easy access to a short walk into the gorge. The Wi-Fi worked well. The water was potable.
Although each unit has it's private entrance, there are no cooking facilities in the rooms. Because of this there is a communal kitchen and braai area on one end of the units, which means guests could continually walk in front of your unit, to and fro from here. So, if like me you like your privacy, choose unit 5 or 6. Otherwise, a five star stay.
Where do you want to find more perfect? The hospitality, friendly, spontaneous reception. Ask and you shall receive. Nothing short. The place is in one word beautiful, clean and high quality. Will definitely go there again and can definitely recommend it. The environment is beautiful, nature sounds everything you want. What you see on display is more and more. Painfully neat and accurate. The atmosphere was refreshing and the other people who stayed there also made the stay special because the layout forces you to interact with each other. Definitely a place I would visit again and recommend. The caretaker was also helpful and helped us out with something we couldn't carry on our bike.

After a very friendly reception, we were really surprised by the luxurious accommodation in the horse stables of old. It was freezing cold but wood and a braai drum were made available to us to use the stoep sitting a bit to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. What a wonderful gem of a place! After a long day of travel, Ashley Stable Stay was like an oasis in the desert! We were received kindly and immediately felt welcome. They went out of their way to accommodate our 10 year old son, even though there is technically only room for 2. The place is spotless and incredibly stylish. We didn't want to go to sleep, the view is breathtaking and the tranquility addictive! Would love to go again but book more nights, the area has so much to offer, from De Rust's cute little shops, de Rustica's olive oil to Oudtshoorn's ostrich farms which can easily be visited in a day. Thank you very much for a wonderful experience!
