Lovely setting in the mountains with very scenic hikes on the farm. Very cute cows on the farm - which also means you have to do some cow dung hopping when you go on the walks. A clean shared swimming pool to cool off in the hot summer Robertson days. The back stoep braai area with lots of wood for the "kuier" fire was very cozy and provides a lovely space for star gazing. The kitchen was well equipped for self-catering. Jackie popped around later in the day to greet us and give us a brief overview of our surrounds and answer any questions we might have. For us, the beds were rather hard and we didn't get a comfortable sleep. The room next to the kitchen had a lot of "electronic controls " and the various lights flash and flicker in the dark which disturbs ones sleep. Would be better if these controls were placed in the kitchen. Overall we had a lovely relaxing time and enjoyed the farm and the quiet.
Assegai Rest is a lovely family retreat with loads of outdoor space for kids and fur babies. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone that loves the outdoors.

Brilliant, best service, very spacious and perfect for dogs. Very clean and tidy. Absolutely no cell phone pickup, so come prepared!
It's a very comfortable, peaceful and lovely home with everything you need. We will definitely use the accommodation again.
Assegai Rest is the ideal farm destination where you can rest with the most beautiful view of the mountains. It is close to several wine farms, and there is a lot to do in the area.
Excellent, quiet, neat, farm atmosphere accommodation with the most beautiful view! Safe for kids to run around and also for your dogs. We enjoyed it a lot and can definitely recommend it. André and Jackie are wonderful people.
Assegaai House offered everything we could need. The accommodation was neat and nice and big. The setting in the valley surrounding the farm is perfect for nature lovers, with nice hiking options right from the front porch.
The house is very spacious, and there are no burglar bars/security gates. The surroundings are peaceful, but the dirt road to the house is poor in places. Reception was friendly. Would recommend for people who can get by without phones and for people who want to get away from the city noise.

- Swimming Pool – as this is a shared space, sanitiser is provided. You are welcome to use the facility but please self-manage the time you (especially a group) spend at the pool.
- Water Wise - with our aim to be self-sustaining and off the grid as far as possible, we do not waste precious water unnecessarily. Therefore, please No diving / Splashing at the Swimming pool!
