It's a shame that the hawkers from the beach are constantly knocking on the door. Unfortunately, this makes it slightly unsafe.
The unit was not advertised correctly. One room should have had two single beds which have since been changed to a double bed with the result that I slept on the floor with an additional single mattress on the floor. This was cleared up with Stay in Paternoster.
House is lovely located with fully equipped kitchen. Rooms a bit neat, but still very neat and clean with enough storage space. Our DSTV was switched off early in the morning which wasn't fair as we weren't leaving until the next day.
Lovely scenery to wake up to, house is fully equipped with all essentials. Really good value for money.
The location of Asteroidea could be amazing and what a nice place. It is however very unfortunate that the locals can ruin it for you with loud car music, urinating in front of your place in public and polluting the beach. There is broken glass bottles everywhere. Such a shame. The house itself was also not cleaned properly and was also a big let down.
Lovely place, big enough for 4 to 6 people. Indoor fireplace makes it perfect for cold, wet weekends and braai on enclosed porch is an added bonus.
Asteroidea is located on the beach. The fishing boats that go out right in front of the house early in the morning are a feast to behold. Asteroidea had everything we needed. The surroundings and the beach are particularly neat and clean.
Unbeatable location, cleanliness and safety make this the ideal accommodation in Paternoster. The home has everything a visitor could possibly ask for. We definitely recommend Asteroidea.
The house is beautiful and well furnished. The porch with staggered windows is a bonus. Even if the wind blows, you can sit quietly on the porch and enjoy the view. The stay in the cottage was very nice. House is very centrally located - walking distance to restaurants and shops. If there are 2 things I can complain about, it's the braai place - it smells awful. My husband had to put up a temporary screen (with cardboard) to prevent the smoke from coming out in front of the barbecue area. The other annoyance was the people who park their cars on the beach and play loud music from their vehicles. There were also taxis parked nearby (where fish is sold) playing loud music. They also made fire. We were coming from the city to Paternoster for some peace and quiet, so this was a bit of an annoyance. It's public area, so there's probably nothing that can be done about it.

Microwave rusts a lot. We were also in the same house a year back. Would like to see owner look into it. It is very dangerous.
It's not as idyllic as in the photos, currently the front porch is closed with glass and "sliding-stacking doors" that offer more privacy and protection from the wind. Beautiful view of the sea. Well equipped kitchen. Although there are 3 bedrooms it is very small, 6 people will have to get along very well. The letting agents are very helpful and friendly. But there is a lot of annoying foot traffic, constant lobster smugglers and shell art sellers, noisy weekenders on the beach in front of the cottage leaving you with no privacy on your front porch. Decided on a whim to stay over on Sunday night as well, which gives an idea of how quiet it should be during the week. And just to end our wonderful weekend well, 2 brave souls tried to break in at 02:30 on Monday morning. You are well warned in advance about the mentioned elements, take them to heart. Would I go again? Definitely, but then to the quieter corners of Paternoster, as it remains one of our favorite West Coast destinations.
We enjoyed it a lot. Wish there were more fans in the rooms. Otherwise everything was perfect, thank you.
Everything was very good except that the steps to the house are very high. Difficult for older people and also someone with a disability. Also indicate in advance what is not fully working, e.g. toilet, bottom shelf of freezer section of fridge and food scissors.
The service from all parties involved was excellent and extremely professional. Accommodation met all our expectations. Undoubtedly the best place to experience the West Coast. Unfortunately fellow vacationers staying in adjoining unit spoiled our stay. Loud music and noise during day and night (two days) was extremely unpleasant and their behavior was disturbing. Agency did respond to our requests to warn the tenants to calm down.
Thank you very much, we had a great stay. Although the 2 main rooms are very small, they were still cozy. Of the lights such as the front porch light bulb was dead so there was no light in front. The flowers were a nice idea, but the water smelled bad. The kitchen and porch are lovely to visit. The braai light on the porch was also dead. The kids selling shells and such get a bit annoying but it's good to see there are night guards walking around. The view is fantastic and all in all we had a great stay and will do it again soon.

Key- and breakage deposit:
Key- and breakage deposit is payable with the deposit for the booking and refundable by bank transfer within 5 - 7 working days after departure, once the house has been scrutinised and all found in order. Please note that the key deposit will be retained and additional charges imposed if more guests than booked are found to be utilising the premises. Please furnish us with your banking details on arrival. Keys will not be handed over under any circumstances unless the key and breakage deposit has been received.
Minimum stay required:
2 nights in low and mid-season
3 nights over long weekends
4 nights over Easter weekend
7 nights in high season
Guests must first visit our offices to check in and get their keys.
When entering Paternoster, turn left at the four-way stop. The 'Stay in Paternoster' office is situated about 75m further, on the right-hand side of the road, at 87 St. Augustine Road.
