It was easily the most uncomfortable guest house ever to stay overnight. We were two people who had to sleep in a single room. The toilet sits next to the bed. Very bad!
Parking space on premises is insufficient. We had trouble getting out when we wanted to leave early as an inconsiderate resident partially blocked our car. Although requesting the owner to ask resident to move the car, this was not done.
Traffic a bit disturbed during the night, as the guest house is located on a main street.

There are just too many steps to navigate in the bedroom allocated to us. Very crowded room for our needs i. e too much furniture. The TV in the room simply did not work = Load shedding aside. That TV set wasprobably manufactured before the SA war.

The owners were really nice and helped us get a room when they were already full. We had a very comfortable stay but the room we were in definitely needs some TLC. The bath was leaking and the sink faucet was loose. It's not a bad place at all, we had a very comfortable bed and could watch some nice TV.

The guest house is on a busy street, the trucks rush by all night and it makes it impossible to sleep. The parking is a problem, we were stuck parked after we said we wanted to leave early.

The pictures are very misleading. We definitely did not get what we expected from the photos, and were extremely disappointed because we got absolutely no value for our money. And felt put in. Among other things, there is no bathroom door. To walk outside, you have to walk through the bathroom. I don't know why this is advertised as a family room when I don't even have privacy in the bathroom. There was also only a quarter of a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, and the quality was worse than what I've used at gas station bathrooms. The towels were washed out, and the linen was not the standard white. It's the first guest house I come to where there is no milk, only Cremora. Then I'm not even talking about biscuits. There was also no water bottle in the fridge, only an empty ice cube tray. If you are looking for water for the kettle, you have to fetch it in the bathroom. Please fetch this place from the web page, they are damaging your extremely good reputation.

You have to pay R150 per person, then you have to do your thing in an open toilet and bath. Too many doors leading to the room which instills a bit of uncertainty. Two very hard single beds pushed together to make a double bed. Very dark in the room, even though the sun is shining outside it feels like night in the room. Very old fashioned for a lot of money. Upgrade is definitely needed because there is no table to make your tea or coffee, so I preferred to leave otherwise I had to do it on top of bed or microwave. The air conditioning is in the bathroom, for which you have to get up every time to turn it on or off and when you bathe then you have to turn it off, because it blows right on the bath. Sorry but it's definitely not what I expected.
The cutlery was not complete. Towels could be better. Big vehicles drive by all night!
Parking is a problem, as cars have to park 3 deep behind each other, not parallel. Meaning, if the first car in needs to leave first early in the morning, two other guests will have to get up and move their cars out on the road to allow the first car to get out. There are also only two car shades and we overheard two guests having an altercation as to who gets to park in the shade. The unit is advertised as self-catering, in reality it is a room with an en-suite bathroom where a fridge and microwave have been pushed in. So the fridge is humming away in the bedroom. There is a small communal area with a sink and a small cooker serving several rooms, dorm style. The only way to sit down for a meal is at a very small table outside the room on a tiny veranda that joins the common area. For a place advertised as self-catering, the 'kitchen' is under equipped to a degree of dysfunctionality. We did not even have forks. The room was reasonably clean, but when the toilet seat was lifted, the underside of the seat was disintegrated and the chipboard was showing (hygiene!). The towels and linen were clean but threadbare and very well worn, the linen was was dark and patterned, definitely not industry standard. The pillows were really lumpy. I was very glad I brought my own. The venue felt like a truck stop, geared to high turn over with maximum profit and minimum input and really fell short compared to other places in the same price range we have stayed.
The room was very dark. Aircon is situated incorrectly and blows directly in your face. Never saw the owner.

If you are only looking for a place to sleep, then this place is good. There is no comfort. We were caught off guard with the situation in the room/lounge/kitchen. There was a small fridge, but no ice in the ice tray! The microwave was on the fridge and the kettle on the microwave! It cannot be that difficult to get a small table or install a counter! The situation is not comfortable at all. The worst for me was the fact that we had to get water for dishes from the bathroom, in a dish, which I did not know where to place. If you are young and enjoy camping, it won't bother as much, but I did not foresee this situation in a self-catering set up. Other than that the reception was friendly and we slept well.

The bathroom has no privacy. The rooms are dark and there's no kitchen (after I specifically searched for self-catering accommodation). The picture of the pool was misleading and the pool was dirty. The street is very busy until late at night, but if you only spend 1 night, it doesn't bother you when you close the room door. It's easy to find and the self-catering part was a pleasant surprise, but understandably not something that should be advertised. Very good for people who only stay 1 night or have alternative arrangements/activities during the days, a.g. the noisy highway. Not bad at all and would stay there again.

Rooms were cleaned regularly. All negative comments are that toilet paper was not replaced. Everything else was positive. People very hospitable and friendly.

We had a great stay, just didn't like the bathroom in the room & the trucks passing by outside kept us out of the loop. On the positive side it was one of the few guesthouses that did have a kettle, microwave & TV. So much more pleasant when one cannot order dinner.

The owners are very nice and we had a nice time with them before we went out for dinner. They recommended a restaurant "Bi-Lo's" for dinner and we were really impressed. But just make sure you go to the real Bi-Lo's and not the "take-aways" Bi-Lo's. Also, just ask for a room away from the street, as it is quite a busy street that passes in front of the guest house.

Hi,nWe had a really good time at "At Home guesthouse". Andrea is an extremely nice person and a wonderful host. The only problem with the location was that there was a lot of trucks passing by at night, which if you're a light sleeper, it makes it difficult to fall asleep. I have two suggestions, the first one being that we only had SABC 2 in our room, but we could watch tv in their lounge which also had more channels - however, sometimes you do want your privacy. The other suggestion is adding a bell - as we waited for almost half an hour to get in, and had to ask one of the neighbours for their number. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay, thank you so much Andrea, we will be back!

The King-Size or Twin Rooms have a private entrance and comprises of a king-size bed that can be converted into twin beds. The Family Room has a private entrance and comprises a double bed, a bunker bed.
Each room has air-conditioning or a heater, a TV, a fridge, a microwave, cutlery and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Barbecue facilities are available in front of each room, and free Wi-Fi is provided.
For the comfort of families with children, we do not use white linen, but rather good quality patterned duvets.
Breakfast is available prior to arrangement at an additional cost. No breakfast available on weekends.
On-site facilities include secure parking, barbecue facilities and a splash pool. Pets are allowed prior to arrangement.
