All bed linen are provided. Guests are requested to provide their own beach and bath towels. Electric blankets are also available on request. We had a wonderful stay in At Patat Cottage! A weekend is far too short to fully enjoy the cottage and the surroundings. The house is beautiful inside, there is everything one could need. From cuddly bedding (we slept so well) to the most beautiful cups and plates, beautiful art on the walls, a TV with DSTV and Netflix, Wifi, to a cozy outside braai area with a very comfortable built in seating area - you really can't ask for more. I would definitely recommend At Patat Cottage. It's walking distance from the sea/beach, you can hear the sea when you lie in your bed at night and we felt very safe in the security complex.
At Patat has such a lovely atmosphere. You also immediately feel at home. Delicious! It was really wonderful to walk into such a neat place to live and where you feel very safe after a day's travel. Would recommend to anyone for a holiday.

The accommodation is extremely neat and perfectly located in Struisbaai. It is very well appointed with everything one could need, with beautiful beach house decor. You can also easily walk from the accommodation to the sea, even with a baby in a pram!

Wonderful little cottage, with everything you would need for self-catering. I would advise adding another frying pan if they could. The only issue we had was the main bedroom ceiling fan that was broken. Everything else was great.
Beautiful, neat, romantic cottage in an idyllic location. The house is equipped with more than you could ever need. Especially ideal for children with families who want to play and walk around. Very safe and by the sea.
The great thing was the fireplace inside seeing that it was cold and the outdoor barbecue area is a nice place to hang out.
The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. There could only have been an extra blanket for each bed.

The entire experience was amazing. This amazing cozy cottage is situated in a secure complex so close to the beach which is spectacular - the sunrises are worth waking up for and there is an endless stretch of beach you can have all to yourself. Loved the fact it was pet-friendly and so close to exploring the stunning L'agulhas region as well as Waenshuiskrans caves. A real gem.

Idyllic getaway weekend that felt like a week. The decor of the Fisherman's House is beautiful and the fireplace lends a romantic atmosphere. Especially the paintings that each tell a story. Nothing is missing in At Patat Cottage. Braai area is very well laid out. Struisbaai is much better than the Greek islands.

At Patat had everything required for a lovely break. More comfortable furniture in the living room space would make it even better.
In spite of poor weather (it rained, which was wonderful), we really enjoyed it. The TV and great reception was a big bonus. We would love to go to At Patat again.
Delightful breakaway after a period of hard work.
We had a good contact via e-mail with Madeleine, the owner of the cottage. She was very helpful for us and made a deal with the park authorities to get the keys even on Sunday. The cottage is fully equipped for at least 4 persons. And stands more then safe in a park. The most southern tip of South Africa is very close to the cottage. It was a pity that we were here only for 3 days.
Would recommend it. Good value for money.
At Patat is well equipped, picturesque, in a modern development with a fisherman-atmosphere. This is what a beach house should be like - compact, comfortable and easy to maintain.

Very neat and tasteful. Had a great time but just a shame that so many payments had to be made to be able to stay there for just a weekend. There was also a house in Langezandt Village that had parties every night until after 2 in the morning. Furthermore, we had a nice barbecue and had a good time.
No sea view. According to photos, it looks like cottage is on sea front. A cleaning fee of R400 has been added after booking, looking for a deposit of R500. There was never anything like this before. The amount you pay for the place should include the cleaning.
The beds are too hard, there is a lot of traffic because of building houses, the gate is day and night open, the reception was not real welcoming. We had an idea to come back another time, but the prices are raised by 50 percent and that is far too much for only the design of the cottage.
The electric blankets on the bed were a big bonus and the fire we could make inside the cottage was fantastic.

We enjoyed the stay. Sun, rain - wonderful and lots of wind. Everything you need is there and especially a nice fireplace with lots of wood. It's like your own home away form home. We enjoyed it very much! Everything was very neat, clean and comfortable! We did get there late Friday night and no shop was open. A few logs of wood for the first night's braai or an option to pay extra that you leave a bag of wood or two there would be amazing. We didn't have room to haul wood together. Had to drive all the way back to Bredasdorp. Other than that everything was perfect. Thank you.

At Patat was the only one of 10 different places where we stayed and had to bring towels. For 4 people it requires an extra bag - it is difficult! Also the only place where a breakage deposit had to be paid. It's really an arrangement that fell into disuse.
We had a great time. At Patat is perfect if you want to switch off and just appreciate the tranquility and natural beauty. The electric blankets were a great treat against the cold evenings. We will definitely visit again!
We had a great stay! However, there were 2 incidents where local people appeared out of nowhere and came to beg. I believe that people from that area are used to it and if it is busier and there are more people, it won't bother you as much. It made us afraid to barbecue in the evening. The security of the cottage itself is very good.

It was great! Very nice location, lovely units with a cozy small town atmosphere. Safe walking distance from the beach and close to everything one needs. Bedding, bathrooms and kitchen were very nicely done and new with a sea theme. Every night we made a fire and hung out on the porch. Would go again anytime ─ it's worth the money! I can definitely recommend At Patat. It really feels like home away from home. The short distance you have to walk to the sea can only be done well. The braai is also very well equipped and you can spend a lot of time there. The area is very peaceful and quiet and you can relax wonderfully. Everything was neat and in its place.
We had a lovely stay, everything you need is there. Would be great if the yard was enclosed but that is a minor. The braai area is the place to spend your time. The sleeper couch in front of the fire place is also a winner!

Our family visited At Patat during July 2016. At Patat has everything you need for holiday accommodation. Unit was neat and clean. We made a delicious fire in the fireplace in the evening. Decent bedding and towels.
Madeleine helped us beautifully and was always ready if we wanted to know anything. The house was beautifully clean and you just felt good when you walked in. What also makes it nice is that it is an open-plan kitchen with a lounge by the kitchen and a nice fireplace. So my little wife and I could have a good time while we cook. There is so much to do in and around Struisbaai. It was a very nice getaway. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was that the advertisement said the sea is almost at your doorstep - and then the sea is still about 1 km away. Then say near the sea or something like that. It didn't bother me, but when you think you have a sea view and you get there and see nothing it's not so nice. Overall I would say 8 out of 10 for the total package. It was really nice to stay there. It is a particularly homely place to stay. Thank you.

We were a little worried about the fact that there was no anti-theft (We come from Cape Town. Anti-theft is a requirement) but had no problems with security. The accommodation was good with DStv, nice beds and a very peaceful atmosphere. We decided at 20:00 of our last night that we wanted to stay longer. No trouble for the friendly staff who quickly arranged it. Thanks again. I will definitely come and stay again.
The unit has every appliance and utensil that one requires and the beds are very comfortable. Attention to detail is a bit lacking; the bedside lamp could not work (no extension provided) and some of the windows and the front door open with difficulty. That apart, we had a good stay and we would return but would prefer to be closer to the beach.
Lovely stay, even though it was cold at night. Luckily they provide electric blankets. The roof leaked after rain, in all the rooms. Décor and linen was beautiful. Please provide a hairdryer.

The perfect place for time away from the rat race. A wonderful mix of rustic charm and modern convenience. Check in is a breeze; the cottage is perfectly situated and central to many interesting sites to see. It is well worth staying a week just to recharge and connect. It is great value for money and a place to return to regularly.
Very comfortable house near the sea! There is no sea view, but at least the sea is close. At Patat is very beautiful inside. Really the perfect place to just relax! You don't need to bring anything except your food and drinks... everything is there! The indoor braai and fireplace are a winner and make the houses very cozy in summer and winter. There is also an outdoor barbecue for the summer days. Had a great time and rest assured... I'm sure At Patat will see me again soon.
The house is very modern and well equipped. Delicious braai place, we didn't use it due to cold rain weather. It is not a few meters from the beach and does not have a sea view.
