At Rest is a charming self-catering log cabin at Pirates Creek, in the heart of the Garden Route in the Wilderness National Park, close to the beach. It is a popular weekend and holiday breakaway destination with something to offer for the whole family. Situated on the banks of the Touw River, it has a breathtaking view of the mountain, with its own private parking at the entrance. The three-bedroom log cabin is fully equipped for a comfortable, peaceful stay and all rooms are equipped with bedding and towels. This accommodation is most appropriate for 4 adults plus two children.
The main bedroom is upstairs and furnished with a queen-sized bed. It has a separate dressing room and study area with an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and basin. From the bed, there are beautiful views of the river and mountains. The main bedroom extends onto a timber deck from where the beauty of the luscious vegetation of the Wilderness National Park can be appreciated. The second bedroom upstairs is furnished with 2 comfortable single beds. The third bedroom is downstairs and furnished with a queen-sized bed with en-suite bathroom with bath, toilet and hand wash basin.
The kitchen is fully equipped for 6 guests with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and oven and stove. The kitchen, living and dining area on the ground floor is of open plan design. It is equipped with a dining table and six chairs, two comfortable double seat leather couches and two additional loose seats.

Had a great time and the view was breathtaking.
We really enjoyed staying here. The location was ideal. House beautiful and well-kept. Ilze, our host, was so accommodating and friendly - she even sent us ideas of what to do in Wilderness which was so thoughtful. We would definitely book again and will recommend it happily to all friends and family. Thank you. One point I feel I should mention was when there is loadshedding, there is absolutely no signal in this area, which was a little surprising and challenging as I had to work whilst there.
Everything was amazing. We love Wilderness and the Touw River is something special.
From the reception to the departure the communication was excellent. Beautiful secured complex and the finish of the house and detail of the establishment, was top notch. The availability of a kayak was a bonus and us 'oldies' felt like children paddling the river. The beautiful bunnies that move freely between the houses were a pleasant extra.

We enjoyed our visit with family and friends at At Rest. Weather was amazing, canoeing was great fun. Cabin was well equipped and our host Ilse was professional and friendly. On the downside, The N2 is close and the traffic runs right through the night. We also found the upstairs bathroom setup inpractical. We recommend a sliding door on the master bedroom for privacy.
The house extends large space, but it is an incredibly beautiful house.
At Rest has an amazing view over the river, however, when making the booking, you are not made aware of the fact that the back of the house is very near to the N2 and therefore noisy day and night. The house is well fitted with everything you need, however, we are convinced that our bed linen was not washed after the previous guests slept there, the blankets offered to cover your legs while sitting on the deck smell of dog and the dish drying rack is slimy and full of mould.
All the amenities that you could possibly need were provided for. The property was lovely and clean and the hostess very friendly.

The unit is comfortable and spacious. Very nice view and close to the sea. We really enjoyed our visit there. Note that the N2's traffic is audible, seeing as it passes close to the unit. Thank you very much for a nice stay.
The house is very comfortable and well furnished. We were grandparents with children and grandchildren and there was enough room, despite the slightly inclement weather. The hostess was very friendly and pleasant.
I would close off the upstairs master bedroom from the bathroom so that the smaller room also has a bathroom without having to enter the master bedroom. I would also appreciate a smaller pan with a lid.
Friendly service, neat and comfortable. Everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay is there. The view is absolutely beautiful. We were there with our adult children and it would help if there is a door in the main bedroom so that the second bathroom can be used without disturbing the privacy of the main room. But in spite of that, it was value for money and we will definitely go there again!
Everything was perfect, warm and efficient. We felt welcome, beautiful surroundings, the house was spotless, tastefully decorated with all possible accessories (much more than the average self-catering place), very spacious. We loved the river and the canoe was a welcomed bonus: we paddled up and down the quiet river with the kids. Just at the entrance of the estate there's a restaurant, SPAR nearby and the beach is just across the main road. Really enjoyed our stay.
The location next to the N2 is quite disturbing if you are used to silence. Environment is beautiful.

Very nice 3 bedrooms with bathroom. Sitting and dining room, kitchen on one level. Could watch soap operas on TV, good parking and also safe behind remote control gates.

Ons gesin het vir amper 2 weke by At Rest gebly. Die plek het alle verwagtinge oortref en was absoluut heerlik. Dit bestaan uit 3 netjiese kamers en 2 badkamers. Die plek is baie mooi gemeubileerd en daar was ook volledige DStv beskikbaar. Wat dit die beste maak, is dat dit deel is van 'n klein plek met direkte toegang tot die rivier. Die kinders het ure lank in die rivier geswem en van die treinbrug afgespring, sowel as boot en kano gery. Daar is 'n kano ingesluit by die eenheid en durf beslis die roei aan tot in die berge. Dis voorwaar die moeite werd! Kommunikasie was baie goed van die begin tot die einde. Ons het absoluut heerlik gebly en sal graag weer in die toekoms daar bly. Ek kan die plek met 'n geruste hart aanbeveel!
Ons het baie lekker gebly. Alles was on point. Kliëntediens was uit die boonste gestoeltes. Die naam pas perfek by die woning. Dankie dat julle hierdie stukkie goud met ons gedeel het. Volgende keer bly ons langer.

We didn't use the canoe accuse the weather wasn't permitting, but I will go back to At Rest; next time in summer. Ilza Louw, the hostess, is a very friendly lady as well. We had a fantastic week at At Rest with our parents will definitely go back there again!

My husband and I stayed at At Rest with my parents for 6 nights and it was amazing. The house is fully equipped with everything one could ever need - we even made a nice sheep pot with the house's black pot! The house is very luxurious and the location on the Touws River makes it particularly peaceful. We kicked off our shoes and forgot about all our worries. It was also very nice to row on the river and Wildernis itself is a very cute town with delicious restaurants. We would go again any day and can recommend it to anyone.

Accommodation provided was excellent. My only negatives are: the complex is small. One has to use the car to go anywhere in the Wilderness area. Launching a canoe from where we stayed was very difficult because of the extremely steep bank.
