We really enjoyed the weekend, everything was neat and clean and in good condition. We really appreciated the extras, which are usually not provided. The milk in the fridge, biscuits, tea and coffee, good things to braai with and of course the back-up batteries during load shedding were a bonus.
The location is perfect, it's really close to everything. The place is spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. It's very peaceful and you can relax wonderfully on the porch with the beautiful garden. The monkeys came to visit early in the morning, but were not troublesome at all. It's also very safe. We will definitely book there again in the future.

Nicolien really went out of her way to make us comfortable, providing cots that we'd forgotten and making sure we were okay during an unexpected power outage. The cottage is very comfortable and spacious.
Maybe not the most beautiful view, but the owners' hospitality makes up for it. Tea, coffee and milk for the entire duration of the stay. Shampoo, body lotion, body wash, etc. in the bathroom. Wood and fire lighters at the braai. Provision for power outages. Numerous heaters for the cold. They go out of their way to make the stay nice and comfortable.

We were very warmly welcomed. Nicolien was in regular contact with us before arrival and made sure we got to the right place. The place is very beautiful with beautiful decorations inside the house. They have full DSTV. We also received a bag of charcoal and fire starters for barbecuing. The kitchen is also very well equipped. It is really very good value for money and we would highly recommend the guest house. 10 out of 10 for the good service.
The cottage is lovely and quiet. Thank you for the milk and rusks, much appreciated. The inverters were very welcome with all of the loadshedding we experienced. The toiletries in the bathroom were unexpected. We had a lovely time exploring Parys, eating in the restaurants, and doing the sunset Dome Tour.
We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. Battery power during power outages was great. Only suggestions for improvements would be to replace bath with shower.

A nice getaway spot. This is for sure our new home in Paris. You can't help but relax, you have everything you need at your disposal, within walking distance of the main street and shops, the unit is very nice and tidy and the owner Nicolien makes you feel right at home.

Beds very comfortable, linen of good quality and wow, the towels are out of this world. We were received very kindly and nothing was too much trouble. The entrance to the yard is difficult to find, especially in the dark. There are no indications anywhere that this is the river cottage. The entrance looks like a construction site and everywhere you have to walk carefully for holes and pipes that are in the way. There is no river view and there is some kind of green house in front of the only view to the lawn/garden. Drove back home earlier in the day because the dogs kept us awake. The power and water went off at least 2 times a day and then we had to call before it worked again. My sister and I are both heart transplant patients and I am sick because I am waiting for a second transplant. My husband is in Jan. passed away from COVID and we just wanted to get away from everything and everyone to rest properly. You only realize the place is completely surrounded by houses when you get there.
