21 guests' feedbackWe arrived late and were greeted by a very friendly host, Naomi. We felt at home right from the start and everything was as expected. Naomi explained the house rules, which were all very reasonable. She also supplied us with more firewood for the fireplace and charcoal for the Weber. The setting is beautiful and safe. A personalised letter was left in the lounge with the WiFi password. We will certainly use the accommodation again.

Our group of 4 friends stayed in the Piet My Vrou Cottage at Athanor and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We only wished we could have stayed longer. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and well-equipped. Naomi was a fantastic and accommodating host, with an abundance of helpful information about what was on in Hogsback. Her garden is absolutely stunning and reflects the overall beauty of Hogsback. We would stay here again without hesitation.
The little cottage was set with a stunning view of the mountains. It was equipped with all we needed for our stay in Hogsback. It was very neat, cosy and clean. I would definitely be staying at Athanor should we visit Hogsback again.
It was a great help to be kept abreast of all that was going on in Hogsback during our time there. We appreciated being left to our own devices.
Moved to large unit because a regular customer arrived unexpectedly. That meant even thought we had a fire going from 15. 00 hours to bedtime the place was always cold. Also wood bundles at R 30 more than local shop. Left 24 h early because of a health issue and now blammed for bad review because no refund given.
It is a beautiful place to stay. Owners are very friendly and helpful. It is hidden but the view is fantastic. The road to the Athanor is more suitable for larger vehicles. Other than that it was a great weekend.

From your porch on Piet-My-Vrou you only see trees and mountains. Hears only birds and is not aware of any humans. Absolute rest surrounded by nature in a beautiful well-equipped cottage. A visit to Athanor-Hogsback is a must on your to-do list.

Gerhard and Naomie know how to put their guests at ease immediately. The facilities are of high quality and the visit to the beautiful Hogsback the highlight of our visit to the Eastern Cape. We would love to return for a later visit.
A quaint little cottage in the woods, definitely the best way to escape busy city life. We had most pleasant stay and will be back.

Beautifully located with breathtaking scenery. Safe and spacious with all facilities to make your stay and visit unforgettable. Very pleasant hostess. Would recommend the stay to anyone. Awesome location and views with friendly hostess.
Naomie received us kindly and immediately made us feel at home. Accommodation was clean, modern and comfortable with all the necessary equipment for self-catering. Also kindling for fireplace for the first night. Guesthouse is quite secluded in lovely silence with an exceptional view which forced us to sit outside and have breakfast despite cool weather. From the premises there is a lovely walking trail down to a water stream.

It really was the nicest place to stay on our vacation. If we can get such a chance again we will stay there for a week. Everything is in the accommodation, just pack your clothes. You can wash your clothes yourself there too. It's your home away from home and the people there are so friendly! The environment is so peaceful and clean!
We were received very kindly and immediately felt at home and comfortable. The accommodation is very nice and comfortable with everything we needed. The garden is a bird's paradise!
