We had a really nice stay. The grandchildren could safely go to swimming pools/games by themselves and we could also go for nice walks. The staff are very competent and friendly and a very big treat is that your place of residence is cleaned every day - delicious! This means we could rest, even if it was short. Thank you, we will definitely do it again.

Didn't see option for the with shade net, would have preferred it. Otherwise it would have been very nice. Parking closer to the outdoor hot pool would be nice. At least the staff is very friendly. Service and quality of food in the restaurant can definitely improve. Shop does have balls and very few meat options for grilling. Camping doesn't have fridges so can't take too much meat (don't expect there to be fridges) and don't necessarily want to drive out of place for meat every time. Monkeys are always fun to watch. A couple of goats or something would also be nice. There was nothing "entertainment" except music, which is unusual for me.

Great stay! Unfortunately, there was a group of people in our block who disturbed the peace every now and then and left our block dirty when they left. Garbage long yellow. My husband started to pick up when first there was cleaning by workers. Workers drive way too fast in the lanes. On 1 day, 2 children from 1 family were in danger due to speed, 1 time a man on a scooter and other times a tractor! They drive way too fast for a resort where children are and play. Both times we ran and screamed.
Thank you very much ATKV Buffelspoort, we will definitely come to camp again. We had a lovely pitch, everything was clean and tidy, very safe and the most beautiful nature too. Pools/bathrooms/dishes areas and everywhere on the site are so nice and clean. Friendly staff, good entertainment. No load shedding, and so nice that there are also shops with everything we could ever need. Thank you! We'll see you again soon!
We enjoyed our break at ATKV Buffelspoort. The resort was neat and clean. Children could ride bikes and go running on their own without any worries.

There should be mention that if you are camping in a tent, the sites are not actually geared up for tents. Small sites and all bricked up. Really not ideal for tenters.

We enjoyed our weekend stay at ATKV Buffelspoort. Will definitely visit again. Close enough to Harties to go out for the day and also contained with enough to keep busy and relax.

We really enjoyed the hot water pools. The changing rooms at the cold water pool need some upgrading. Our 2-year-old boy enjoyed the camp and had fun playing. He loved the monkeys and different birds. There is definitely a need for better lighting at the camp area, especially in Block B. Furthermore, we would recommend ATKV Buffelspoort anytime. Some of our family members are already going there next weekend after they heard about our nice trip.

Great resort for young children. Although I do recommend extra activities such as an on-site zip line, acrobranch obstacle course, cycle park and pedal go-karts. A lot of open space is not currently being used. Not seeing any antelope and peacocks on site was disappointing, like 7 years ago when we visited.

We booked at Buffelspoort for a 3-year-old birthday family getaway. We stayed in the "Buffels" unit (unit no 1) and loved every minute. Not far to walk to the pools, etc. Would definitely book again at this resort.
The description of the rondavel is wrong on your website and also on Buffelspoort's website. According to the description, 4 can sleep below and 4 above, and that is not the case, 2 can sleep below and 6 above. This was a problem because we were 2 families with small children and could not separate the 2 children from the parents who slept downstairs.
Nice stand under shade trees, on pavement. Bathrooms were very nice and clean. Fellow campers were just very 'loud' until late at night. A party atmosphere and loud music.
Nice stay, chalet just needs an upgrade in bedding, as well as the master bedroom's aircon. We could only turn the wall-mounted aircon on and off, and there was water leaking inside the room.

We had older people in our group and the hot water boilers were broken. So, what older people visit Buffelspoort in winter for was not in full effect. It was disappointing. We have visited Buffelspoort before and really enjoyed it, but this visit was cold! A whole week where we were promised every day that the water would be ready the next day.
The reception woman at the first seat when you come in is unfriendly and incompetent. She said I didn't pay the full amount and wouldn't listen when I told her I did. I also had to pay the commission for the leaky bed before I was helped.
The accommodation was neat inside, but around the unit it was dirty. The units were too close together, I didn't appreciate the location. I suggest putting a map of where the units are when people book.
Overall it was good! Although, we had some unpleasant encounters with people displaying racist behaviour at the pool areas.
Sad that I didn't always get the service we used to have. Asked for maintenance and went to reception to fix our air conditioner that wouldn't work properly. We wanted to heat the place because we have a 2 month old baby and it's winter, but it didn't happen. We used our own heater. Asked for 4 of our lights to be replaced that didn't work from the start but that didn't happen. The beds were single beds while I said we have a small child and wanted a double bed, but it didn't happen. The beds were rock hard and we got up every morning with sore backs. The shower door was broken from the start and we also asked for it to be fixed, but it didn't happen. So yes, that was my experience at Buffelspoort. I will not stay in the units we were at unit 36 again. One pays very dearly for such poor service and facilities.

Having been there now, I see this as a possible future holiday destination.
The resort is clean and well-kept and truly enjoyable with an array of activities to suit young and old. The accommodation is truly fantastic, the villas are very modern and comfortable with everything you need. I cannot fault the resort on their service, their availability and their response to requests and queries. However, there are a few maintenance issues that they can improve on, for one they could arrange to fumigate the beds, we experienced a few bites, probably dust mites or bed bugs, my grandson more so. There was one loose kitchen draw handle and the shower water pressure was a bit low, the shower head has rust on it. The curtain holder in one room was laying on the window sill. Aside from these few minor things, this is truly a fabulous place to stay. Well done, ATKV Buffelspoort, can't wait to return!!!
Was a festival. I have been to Buffelspoort before as a child. My husband and my mother-in-law have never. So it was a celebration. My mother-in-law traveled from the Cape and she really enjoyed it.
Unfortunately the WiFi did not work at tent house 9. Maybe too far. It's a trifle. In general, everything was good.
We were pleasantly surprised with the facilities and cleanliness of the resort. On arrival our keys were ready and it took less than 2 minutes to check in. The kids loved the pools and slide. The activities offered to them were also fun. The general mood in the resort was also very nice.
It was a wonderful two days to relax and just forget about the city.
There were still quite a few people when we arrived, but it didn't feel like it was crowded, and didn't disturb the tranquility. The rondavels were very neat and modernly upgraded. Would just suggest looking at the beds' sleeping pillows, some a bit too hard and lumpy! The cold water pool is a bit too dark, I wasn't terribly comfortable wanting to swim there alone after 7, maybe they can install lights in the pool, or maybe just put up extra outside lights, even if the extra lights only burn until closing time

Very nice holiday resort with lots to do for the children. Just wish they didn't close the trampolines during school holidays to work on the roof. Very neat and warm water swimming pools are large and nice and warm.
We had a wonderful holiday but when two monkeys attacked my daughter, it was very bad for us. Thankfully it wasn't one of my grandchildren.
There were rocks outside our unit that my mother in law fell over, it was very very impractical. ATKV might just have to look into it.
The Uncle who works at the Putt-Putt courts is an asset to the Resort and we didn't even play, he was a star.

Only upon arrival did we first see that the hot tubs were not in use due to upgrade. It was not mentioned. The indoor pool water really wasn't very warm - it was a very cold period and nice hot water and hot tub is what we were looking forward to.
The rondavel units have a luxurious finish, are neat and spacious. The bathroom sink is a bit neat, but the shower is lovely big. The kitchen has everything needed for self-catering and is well laid out. I didn't use the braai place, but the braai sticks out against the beautiful rondavel. The restaurant has a limited menu, but the food is delicious and the service friendly. As I booked there for work purposes, I would really like to visit again to enjoy the rest of the resort as well.
Friendly service, lots of entertainment for kids.
My husband and I had a lovely stay in a refurbished 4-sleeper chalet. However, there are some things that we think can be added in the chalets. There was no dish towel to dry dishes after washing. The chalet was equipped with a new oven, but there were no oven mitts (and without a dish towel we had to use a towel from the bathroom to take a hot dish out of the oven). Other than that, the stay was very relaxing. The swimming pools are clean and not overcrowded. The linen in the chalets are lovely, clean and almost like new. We will definitely go back again.

The cabinet in the kitchen got stuck which was quite a pain to open every time and the bedroom door also got stuck when it was closed. Did report it to resort. I hope they fix it for future visitors. The clothesline's pipes were 10mm so you couldn't hang your clothes properly, a farmer makes a plan. Other than that, a great time.

If you can't sleep, you don't enjoy your vacation! At the price that the ATKV charges, you expect a bed you can sleep on! This applies to the children too! The sleeping facilities will make us not visit Buffelspoort ATKV again!
The bedding should be updated and the pillows are mushy.
On arrival we only received a package with remotes and nothing else. No number for communicating. The stay was very disappointing especially for the celebration of a 60th birthday. It's now a bad memory.

Camped wonderfully in Block A, stand 26. Was greeted friendly and professionally at the gate who had already anticipated our arrival. Drove all the way on tarmac to your cobbled stand which has its own trash can and own braai but not a light and all the stands don't have taps either. Those who did, mostly had permanent water connections from other campers and we fetched kettle water from the sink. The washing up and ablutions were always clean and tidy. Toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels and sanitizers were always available. There are night guards patrolling the park and you don't need to pack or lock everything away all the time. The shop and takeaway prices were very reasonable. Hot tubs and pools are well maintained. The gardens are beautiful. Children really enjoyed the trampolines and pit-pit and also the movie night by the pool. Taking bikes with you was definitely a bonus! We had a great time relaxing. Would like to see day visitors not allowed in season, especially if it's already a fully booked park.

There are so many things to do and it's not too expensive. Children swam and played and we could rest. Rondavel was very nice and clean. Will definitely go again.

Everything was very neat and comfortable. The reception was friendly and very helpful. In the rondavel everything was neat and clean. However, the sink in the bathroom is an ordeal for older people. It's very small, squeezed under an annoying shelf that you keep bumping your head against. A corkscrew would also be greatly appreciated.
Various places to relax at pools with different heats. Sleeping times are respected, and eating places make very good food.
It was very peaceful and nice. Will definitely come again. Very good service, it's a bit expensive for a holiday resort. Sea works you out cheaper, but nice! Just wouldn't recommend December, mostly for young people, like matriculants.
One of the nicest places we've ever been.
The campsite was well laid out and plenty of space between pitches. If you camp with a tent remember only there are not normal 3 point power plugs. Use an adapter from the caravan plug to the 3 prong plug. Other than that, it was very nice.
Nice pitches with paving. Assistants for storing were very convenient. Clean ablution pads.
If there is one thing that came up short it was the kitchen accessories which were a little too few. E.g. few glasses, few or no porridge bowls and there was also no barbecue and e.g. not a bread plate.

Raining the whole time so mainly only outdoor activities. More for families I'd say than a couple getaway. The hiking trial had been closed so can no longer hike. Indoor heated pool and jacuzzi but it was so full that we didn't go do it. Restaurant and bar closed at 6pm so couldn't even enjoy a glass of wine after 6pm. Braai area does not have shelter over it so could not braai in the rain. But otherwise it is a nice stay especially for families with children. We ended up driving 30mins away to the closest mall to have dinner as we didn't want to be stranded in our rondavel the whole day, not even an outdoor space at our place to sit and view with a shelter. Swimming pool closes a certain time so we couldn't take a night swim. I wouldn't recommend this place on a rainy day. Great for family get aways, camping sites too for those who want to camp. But nah, not for a couples get away.

From the moment we got there, we were taken care of. Their staff are friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean and tidy. Nature merges in terms of the monkeys roaming around and the goats on the golf course. Their plants are in wonderful condition. Thank you very much for a wonderful time, ATKV Buffelspoort.
We had a great time camping. Our neighbors who camped around us were something special. It was very nice. The resort itself is very clean, safe and just full of fun and enjoyment. The activities at the swimming pools were also very nice.
The rooms are clean and safe and the cleaners are friendly and can be trusted. The best thing is that the teenagers could keep themselves busy and were safe. Very neat and wonderful experience. Great place, with good service.
However, I feel the shower in apartment 2 needs attention. The tiles moldy under where sink pipe also runs into shower and moldy on the shower curtain. The rest of the apartment is spotless. Bedding and crockery all in good condition. Oh yes, a bedside lamp in the master bedroom will make the difference that you don't have to get up to turn off the headlights. Still had a great stay despite this and would go there again anytime. Thank you.
The staff is very professional and well trained. The facilities are well looked after and very clean and hygienic. Very well organised. I will definitely visit Buffelspoort again.
We stayed in a tent house, everything was great, but our neighbours, no 2, were young student ladies who had absolutely no respect for anyone, played loud music until 11:30 on two nights, drank and shouted, it's nice to have the to enjoy life, but not at such a place, security came to silence them, didn't help, it creates an unpleasant relationship with your neighbors, that's why we will choose selectively in the future, I feel the resort should too, otherwise it was delicious.

We enjoyed it very much. Will go there again. But all negative point. There are no wheelchair friendly bathrooms. One has to struggle with a wheelchair/walker for old people in the regular bathrooms. And no parking near the hot swimming pool for people with wheelchairs/walkers.

I loved that there's more than enough swimming pools which was good for not being over packed and social distancing. My kids had a lot of fun. Great work with the temperature of the swimming pools. The place is amazing and I'm definitely coming back.

We really enjoyed the few days at Buffelspoort! The pool areas are very clean and tidy. We just felt that "social distancing" at the slide could be maintained more with controls. No one was wearing masks so we felt a bit "unsafe" about that. An SMS was indeed sent that Covid measures must be followed but there was no one on site to enforce it. The rondavels are comfortable, they just need an urgent upgrade for the reason that it feels dirty in front especially the bathroom and the toilet was leaking. Furthermore, it is really a very nice resort with a nice woodland atmosphere. We would definitely go again but would rather stay in an upgraded unit which looks very nice!

Outdoor swimming pools closing at 11pm was surprising.
The flat that sleeps 8 is much smaller than advertised. The pictures on this website are of two separate flats, which creates the impression that the apartments are larger than what it is.
I booked the place for my 2 elderly mothers who both walk with the help of prams. We as a family went camping. The unit was not wheelchair accessible and we had to struggle with stairs at the unit. The unit has not been serviced daily. We decided to take them back home earlier. At the caravan pitches there were clearly more than 6 persons and 1 vehicle per pitch. Children rode their bikes down the stairs, which lead to the ablution block, which created a risk for us, as we were standing right next to the stairs. We approached them about it, but the parents felt there was nothing wrong with it. We have been camping at Buffelspoort for many years, but this was definitely the worst experience we have ever had.
Facilities are clean and tidy. Swimming pools sparkling clean. Accommodation is neat and comfortable. Something to do for young and old.
Very nice family holiday destination near Pretoria.
On arrival we already had workers who offered to help with setting up our tents - it was great because we had 2 big tents and it must have been 6 years since we went camping with them. Within an hour everything was set up and we could relax peacefully. The rest of the weekend was just as fun - facilities ideal for family with 4 children. Ablution facilities were kept clean. At tee-off the workers were there to help again - great because it was terribly hot. We will definitely camp there again.

We went to rest and we did. Our adopted son had plenty to do and was never bored for a moment. Now we are doing chemo first and are already planning our next visit to ATKV Buffelspoort. Swimming pools are more than enough and could accommodate everyone. Putt-putt courts in excellent condition. Resort is neat and clean. All located in resort. From restaurant to takeaway to liquor store. You park your car at rondavel and everything is within walking distance.
Entertainment team was definitely the highlight. ATKV is a wonderful holiday destination.

We had a wonderful stay, visited and played at Buffelspoort. Our children literally did not want to go home. So much so, they don't want to have a birthday party this year, they'd rather go there again for a weekend. We will definitely be there again at the end of January! Only criticism ─ maybe just upgrade the linen (comforters) on the beds in chalets a bit and also lighting at braai area (specifically unit 135 in which we were), light that is at the front door is unfortunately too weak for braai area around the corner . Other than that, we really can't complain or find fault! Thank you for all your hospitality and neat resort.

The resort is great. The people and the resort itself are excellent. The rondavel disappointed us a bit. The toilet was broken - they came to fix it quickly. The fan in the room fell off the wall, we just fixed it ourselves. The rondavel's door cannot be locked from the outside, only from the inside. One evening we found a snake in the rondavel, but no one can help it - that's just nature. Buffelspoort remains one of the best holiday spots after all. Outstanding!
The undercover pool was lovely as weather was not so good, and loved the outdoors. Pity the restaurant sitdown was not functional due to Covid rules.
On arrival at the rondavel we noticed that the rondavel was not very clean. The bathroom was very dirty with anthills everywhere. The other kitchen goods were full of dust. The facilities at the resort made up for the less clean place to sleep.
Feel free as I wanted. Will come again.
On our arrival the welcome at the gate was very friendly, upon reception the reception was stiff. Although the units were very clean, the apartment units were definitely not value for money with a family of 4 in a 6 bed unit. The units are cramped, it gives you a second-hand feeling. You can't wash the dishes properly because you have nowhere to put them. Ceilings are old and the door glass where you enter the unit was loose. Definitely not safe for children. Lawn by pool and in front of units full of paper thorns. The apartments definitely need more attention especially for the price guests pay. Also the thatched roof looks battered. We will visit the resort again but will think twice before booking the apartment units again. Furthermore, the rest of the resort was nice. Parking for stay-in guests is not well planned near the main attraction point, if you are staying at the apartments walk out already, a hell of a long walk, because day visitors take up most of the parking.

Rondavels not on standard Beds and mattresses are old and uncomfortable. TV very poor reception. No oven. Bath's cold faucet not working. No program offered for children.
Although a leaflet is handed out at the entrance about Covid-19 regulations and masks are worn in the store, the Covid regulations are not enforced anywhere else. There are rows and rows of people standing against each other on the steps to the sliding worm, piles of people in the pools, all without masks. The old shop on Buffelspoort is falling further and further behind. There is practically nothing available.
Would be nice if the resort had people in it.

I live and work in New Zealand and took my children there for the weekend. Enjoyed it but felt that the tent house was not worth the price. Bathroom is very poorly planned and the toilet is in a very inconvenient place.

We had a great time and Buffelspoort has changed so much and become neater, just a shame it's a bit on the expensive side.
Had no electricity all night. Poor feedback from reception re when the power would be back on again, even though generators are available. Had to go out for lunch and change the whole menu. Not acceptable.
Accommodation expensive above average in comparison to guesthouses. Swimming pools are neat and maintained well.
Bedding very old. Unit old, neglected. Not very clean. Cost per night is outrageous. At R400 a night we can sleep in clean, tidy double room at Protea Hotel for way cheaper. Old conference table serves as a kitchen table. Washbasin's water runs out with horrible pipes. Shower is so gross and dirty.
We slept in a standard 4 bed chalet. Really standard! Bathroom old and shabby. Actually it is ridiculously expensive for the standard of the chalet. For that rate, book elsewhere for a neater and more updated accommodation option. Seems to me there is also a problem with cockroaches. Rather leave this accommodation for ATKV members who get a discount. Also remember about additional fees that are charged for e.g. entertainment. Must indicate this on the website. ATKV does indicate this on their website.
ATKV Buffelspoort is a fairly-priced, quality holiday resort for the whole family - we enjoyed our time there very much and we look forward to our next visit. The variety of accommodation and quality units are perfect for the whole family!
We as a family enjoyed our stay incredibly. Not a dull moment for the children and we could rest well!
Our rondavel was fantastic. All the pools an absolute winner and all the other facilities that were available are great! We really wished we could have stayed longer. Time flies hopelessly too fast! Only one thing that struck me is that the staff didn't really make an effort to have the guests' interests at heart. If you compare the personal service with other resorts, you can definitely see the difference in the 'personal touch' (sorry). But the resort is great!
We had a great time but were cut short by the welcome rain which prevented us from making full use of the facilities.

The flats consist of 4, 6, and 8 beds, and are comprises a bathroom, a kitchenette, and a TV. The tent houses comprise 4 beds and a bathroom. Guests of the tent houses have access to a communal kitchen, for those tent houses without kitchens. The villa is air-conditioned and comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan living and kitchen area. The campsites are on lawns, under shady trees or paved stands with washing-up and ablution facilities are provided as well as power points and braai facilities.
Guests have access to a variety of facilities and activities at the resort, such as cold and warm indoor and outdoor swimming pools, Jacuzzi's, trampolines, snooker and pool, golf and adventure mini-golf, pony rides, volleyball, squash, and tennis. Please note the waterslide will be closed from 30 Mei – 23 June 2022. The indoor and outdoor heated pools will function as per normal
