Regardless of the strong wind it was a good experience. Will definitely visit again. (Maybe only in a caravan if the weather is like this again. ). The security man from Friday night (Sipho) was very nice and helpful because other vehicles parked on our plot. He looked for the owners and helped us move them so that our plot was available. The patrolling during the nights was also top notch. Felt very safe. Also book accommodation through the website.

Some of the sites are very small for a tent, trailer and large vehicle. It was a struggle with our vehicle.

We had a nice stay by the sea. It was nice to get up and see the sea. We could just walk down to the beach and to the pool. It was very nice. We will go to Hartenbos again anytime.
Two minor complaints: the ablution block is locked, and you need to carry around the key to unlock it every time you have to go to the toilet, and the other issue is that there are no braais available on the site. This should have been made clear during the booking process, as having a braai facility on the camp site is normal for campsites.

Was far away from the bathrooms. We got a very bad camp site. There were so many open sites and we would have loved to have one closer to the bathrooms. The warm swimming pools were not clean enough. There was a bad smell in the water. There were no braai facilities and nobody mentioned that to us. The rest of the stay was good. We bought a braai and then it was enjoyable.

We as three women and a small child had a great time camping and felt safe. Our fellow campers were helpful and friendly. ATKV staff from cleaners and administrative received us so well, certainly very welcoming.

Great location, sea on one side and pools down the street. All amenities very close.
Safe with a security guard at each block. Very clean. Had a peaceful stay with no issues. Could send the teens to the PnP. Lots to do - beach, walk, slides cost R9 one go, putt putt R40 pp, warm baths cost R20 per 2 hour session, ten pin bowling, Ocean Basket and KFC few km away.
Very neat, clean and safe facilities. Everything works as it should and even better, the view was unbeatable. No noisy neighbors and close to the beach and other amenities.
Overall our visit was fantastic. Just an incident that happened later when the tree where I had to park fell on my car.

We had a great camp in Block E. The sea was right in front of us! The bathrooms were very well appointed and always very clean and tidy.
Yes, we had one problem. The periods for silence were from 22H00, but mind you, we couldn't sleep until 2 in the morning with the noise in the street next to our campsite. Clarity must be given about the busy street next to the camp site. We came to rest in the evenings. Many cars drive up and down with music until late and many pedestrians show no respect for vacationers who come to rest.

We had a relaxing weekend well spent, lots of activities to do, large camping plots and very clean and neat ablution blocks. Have everything you need, toilet, shower, family bathrooms, washing machine, dishes station, porta potty area and even a place to wash your braai grids and pots. Absolutely would recommend!
Was our first time, but definitely not the last time!
We went camping with tents and a gazebo. What happened then we put everything up and everything stood for about 2 to 3 hours then the wind came and blew the gazebo apart and then the 1 tent when it blew over. My courage was in my shoes, because we came from Port Elizabeth now we ask whether we pack up or are we going to struggle until Monday. No, then the Lord came and gave us a place at ATKV to stay in Mr. Beukes then helped us with a safe warm pampering place. I will be very grateful to you. ATKV will definitely see me later in the year. Thank you very, very much. You guys rock.

Safe, clean, African environment. Everything is walking distance and work. Very neat.
The braai facilities is a challenge though no braai, container and braai grid, please that is needed., Hope that will be sorted when we go next time.
We stood in Block F - large ablution block was always clean, day or night. Close enough to the beach to walk. Pitches all have grass and are wonderfully large.
Service was very good. If there was a complaint, there was an immediate response. There were no barbecues at the campsite and nothing was said about us having to bring our own barbecue.
If I could only ask for one thing it would be that there should be braai places at the tent camping area.
Was, as always, one of my favorite destinations.
ATKV moved us to a better site in another block. Closer to town and sea.
We really had a good time and rested. There was only one morning someone came to scratch in our garbage can. This affects your safety. We enjoyed the resort.

The cost for an extra adult is R140 per night and R75 per night for an extra child under 12. No extra cost for a child under 3. Only one extra person is allowed above the accommodation unit limit. This does not include a bed, mattress or bedding.
Bookings allow for 1 vehicle per accommodation unit or camp stand. Extra vehicles at R70 per night.
Due to escalating incidents of fraudulent electronic fund transfers (EFT), we require that EFT payments be made at least 2 days prior to arrival. If your payment is not reflected in Buffelspoort's bank account upon arrival, we will require you to pay the outstanding amount. The necessary refund will occur if and when the payment is reflected in Buffelspoort's bank account.
No keys or permits will be issued until the full account has been settled. Cheque payments are not accepted.
Smoking in accommodation units is strictly prohibited.

Guests using our camping facilities must please bring their power point adaptor.
No pets are allowed, except guide dogs.
If you are expecting visitors during your stay, it has to be arranged at reception during office hours. Day visit hours are from 08:00 to 18:00. No visitors will be allowed after 18:00.
Own swimming towels and dishcloths must be provided. - No music is permitted at the resort from motor vehicles or private sound systems/equipment. Please consider the other guests by keeping noise levels as low as possible. Silence must be maintained between 23:00 and 07:00.
No motorbikes or ATV four-wheelers are allowed at the resort.
Only accepted swimwear will be allowed.
Please note that during our out-of-season midweeks, there may be conference and or school groups at the resort.

Enjoying a view of the ocean, the stands can accommodate 6 people and is located near the river mouth. The stands are equipped with 220 V/10 A electricity points, and shared bathroom facilities are also wheelchair accessible.

Each stand can accommodate up to 6 people, and is equipped with 220 V/10 A electricity points. The stands share ablution facilities with showers, and some of the bathrooms are wheelchair accessible.
The resort boasts a variety of recreational facilities, an on-site restaurant, a take-away cafe, a convenience store, an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, and a variety of activities for guests to enjoy, such as mini-golf, trampolines, the ATKV Hartenbos Museum, and a games arcade, as well as Hartenbos' unique walking trail along the beach, consisting of marble blocks with excerpts of African poetry from the works of 16 poets from different periods over the past century.
The resort boasts conference facilities, accommodating groups of up to 100 delegates.
ATKV Hartenbos serves as the ideal base from which to explore numerous tourist attractions in the surrounding area, such as the Cango Caves, Dias Museum, Cape St Blaize Lighthouse, Botlierskop Private Game Reserve, ostrich farms, and Meiringspoort.
