It was a cute little place, very neat and located in a very good place. It was so clean and everything was just perfect for our stay for those 2 days!
I would recommend Auldstone House for sure. We had a really nice stay.
Large room with fireplace. Wood is provided every day. Our room had a couch. Electric blankets on the bed. Bathe and shower with plenty of warm water. Secure parking with your own remote to enter and exit.
It was perfect and neat with a spacious room. I would recommend another table that can handle two large travel cases.

We really enjoyed our stay. The unit is within walking distance of Dullstroom's attractions and the owners' attention to detail is immediately noticeable - the unit was tidy, safe and well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay at Auldstone House!

Upon arrival the 3 ladies greeted us, but it wasn't the wow greeting - greeting was part of their job. The lady who helped us only spoke English. We were given our room key and information sheet - that's where the service stopped. Furthermore, there was no friendliness or interest in us or the room to ensure we were comfortable. There was also no one to help with the unloading of the luggage - something I received at previous places I stayed at. The bed was as pictured, but the hanging cupboard was a steel cupboard, which is not shown and the 1 chair was sat through. The lace curtains are too long and the curtains again are too short. There were cobwebs in the corners of the room. You could clearly see that the room was previously used as a storage room and it was as if it was a quickfix room. The power point behind the bar fridge was overloaded and the fridge wasn't even set to cold and it took 24 hours to get to the average temperature to chill our soft drinks and fruit. There are also no ceiling fans or standing fans. The rats ran on the ceiling at night.

Our stay was lovely besides the WiFi not being accessible and our geyser having to be fixed. We contacted the owner, and she assisted us quickly. However, we had a wedding to attend, and I was not able to wash my hair and was stressed to get ready in time. These things happen; it was just unfortunate that it happened on the day of the event we travelled to Dullstroom for.
Had such a nice stay and is nice and close to everything. Solar was a nice bonus. Didn't even know about loadshedding. They got WiFi during the week, but unfortunately it didn't work well.

We weren’t informed that there are borehole water and due to load shedding we were left without water on Friday night and Saturday morning. We had to make additional arrangements to get ready for the wedding we were attending on the Saturday afternoon. Also did try to get hold of the owner through the website and privately but did not get any feedback from the owner and had to found out about the borehole water by the Dullstroom agency and was informed by them that they will be switching over to Municipality water so we can have water on Sunday. The fireplace in unit number 1 were also smoking into the unit a lot and did not actually warm the unit. We used the fireplace for atmosphere only and had to open all windows in order to use it as we were being smoked out of the unit if the windows were closed.
Places are always, clean, tidy and well maintained. Perfectly located for walking in and out of all those beautiful shops. We have been going to Auldstone House for 8 years and have never been disappointed.
The place is close to everything. Electric blankets and fireplace in room help with the cold and create a nice atmosphere. We had such a nice stay, thank you very much for the good service.

The room was exactly what we booked. Cosy, clean and comfortable.
But unfortunately the trucks drive on the main road throughout the evening, and because there is no fan in the room we had to sleep with the windows open and face it. So much provision is made for cold days, but nothing for hot days, and the windows do not open enough for a nice walk through the rooms.
Although we were surprised that they put us as the only visitors to the place in a room that surely has the worst view of the beautiful view that the place has. The noise from the big trucks in the road in front of the place was annoying, but nothing can be done about it. regarding safety we felt quite alone at night and wondered where we could get help if something happened. There was also no safe available to lock valuables in.
Planning a holiday away from home before we go back to business. Booking this lovely holiday apartment Auldstone House from the web. We get there and this little cosy place seemed to be perfect as seen on the web. So as we spent more time there the little things started to bother me. We are coffee lovers. Always taking our own coffee but making our coffee was a terrible experience. When advertising a room for 3, why not do a setting for 3 so either way, around we had to take turns to be a little bit on the zef side, because there is only setting for two meaning two of each thing. Why? As we proceed to go out for a smoke there is absolutely no seating arrangement for just spending some time outside. Had to sit on the step. Not to mention the perfect arrangement of panties for a view that you are forced to look at while taking your smoke on the washline. And sometimes you're not sure if you would eat the food that is served in the town, so then you pack a bit for incase. The fridge that is literally 150x150mm in size, doesn't even cool your drinks properly. There's no space and there is also no kitchen facility that we were informed of so there goes meat bought. When advertising, make sure to point out to guests that you have a lack of some things so alternative arrangements could be made.
The reason I specifically booked there was for the whiskey tasting (my husband wanted a treat), but then it was closed. The rooms are nice and tidy, but as mentioned very noisy. Also missed a shower.

We had a very nice stay.
Lean on website - it says all 6 suites are on the second floor with fireplaces. Only 5 are like that and the sixth is where we were put in. The room (definitely not a suite) is between a cleaning room and a storage room at the back, without a fireplace. It faces the back door of the other 5 rooms and so the curtain has to be closed for privacy which means it's dark and there is no view. No information was given in this regard and I don't understand why we get this room, since we didn't book last (I booked during lockdown, more than 4 months ago). Furthermore, the light in the bathroom is blown, the heater does not reach the bathroom and the large shower sprays 2 thin, pathetic jets after 8 minutes of waiting for hot water. Nothing good about the room and would never knowingly pay for such a room. So I am very unhappy - will never stay at Auldstone House again and will never book through the website again. And so our first visit to Dullstroom and my wife's 30th birthday was ruined. In one word "pathetic".

The accommodation is ideally located on the main street without the traffic being a hindrance. The room is spacious and was clean and available on time. There was even wood by the room's fireplace in case it got cold. The staff are friendly and there is good security for the vehicle.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay. The room was neat and the reception was very friendly. I was worried about the busy road but the traffic didn't bother me at all. The safety of myself and my vehicle (motorcycle) behind a remote controlled palisade gate was excellent!

We really enjoyed Auldstone Unit #3 during our quick visit to Dullstroom because of its location. We really liked the cleanliness, the big kitchen, the fireplace and the nice view from the porch. It's a shame that the unit only had one bathroom and no shower, the cutlery was very scarce and made cooking and eating very difficult. The common room between #3 and #4 was also a bit strange, could only hope the children didn't keep the guests awake.
Centrally located and had everything we needed, except enough toilet paper.
We didn't even have DStv in our room. Reported it at reception and with our departure the next morning nobody came to see or came to talk with us. Will not advise for future guests. The main road with all its traffic and trucks makes you crazy, can not sleep. Certainly not value for money.

I love this place. Only the lorry drivers driving past early in the morning which makes some noise.

Our evening was nice. The road just very busy before Auldstone, even trucks at night, so our night's rest was not so good. Nothing wow, very comfortable.
The place was clean but toilet didn't flush. I would expect them to make sure the place is in order before anyone arrives. I don't know if I will use again.
