My stay was amazing. The only problem was that the warm pools were not warm enough, especially because it is winter. You would want the pools to be warm. I was freezing. And the pools are the highlight of the stay. Such a pity. Overall a great place.
Stay was very pleasant. However, quality of the restaurant's meals was very disappointing. They need to find a better cook.
Although we have stayed here a few times and have been very satisfied, this time we are disappointed with the room and its location. The breakfast is delicious and facilities very good - swimming pools nicely upgraded. However, beware of a special rate; we got a very poor, shabby little room at the back, next to an administrative office and near the noisy kitchen. It opens onto a deck that looks down on a corrugated iron roof. This greatly undermined the general positive impression we had always had. On request, we were offered a special rate, but we were not informed of the poor condition and location of the room. So it's not really a special offer, just a weaker option. If photos are required, the photos of Room 11 can be provided on request. We asked for another room but were informed that this would incur additional charges.
Avalon Springs was a very welcome oasis in a beautiful location. My son really enjoyed the hot pools. Inside the mountain chalet there were a few faults, such as the freezer drawers were broken and the bathtub drain was blocked. But otherwise we enjoyed the stay.
Memorable however the pool temperature was not up to standard.
The place was more than I expected. It felt like being at home(comfortable). Personal was friendly and very helpful. This visit to Avalon was by far better than our previous time.
To enjoy Avalon fully, one must be aware of the season and the Cape weather. Avalon is a venue to relax. It is sadly also exposed to electrical discomforts. When the emergency supply is used, the sound fills the area. But we are grateful for the attitude of all staff. Brilliant.
Pools and grounds are clean and beautiful.
Beautiful surroundings. Too many people especially during the day, swimming pools are very full and it's noisy. Rooms are neat, but everything is already a bit old and tired, in need of renovation.
