The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove, mini oven, microwave, crockery, and cutlery. The lounge holds comfortable seating, as well as 2 sleeper couches to accommodate additional guests.
There is a lovely braai area and vinewood for sale so you can make a fire to your heart's delight and relax under the beautiful starry sky so unique to rural areas. There is also plenty of space, a jungle gym, and toys on the big property for children to play and climb.

We had a lovely overnight stay at Avonsrus Guest House. The place was so clean, equipped with air conditioners, well-equipped in general, and beautiful surroundings. Our host was really accommodating and friendly. I recommend staying here with friends or family!

On our holiday tour through South Africa, Avonsrus was the nicest place to stay on our entire route. One can see the attention, history and care that has been put into the guest house in every room. Jaco and Ria-Lize looked after us so well. And went out of their way to help us with any requests. Can definitely recommend it and will spend the night there again if in the Augrabies area again.
What a beautiful accommodation for our overnight stay. The house has a lot of history, rustic and modern at the same time, with everything you need. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are bigger than expected. Friendly greeting by the host and two dogs. You can also purchase (padstal goodies), wine, and food for a braai directly from the host. The communication with the host from the start is amazing. Highly recommended.

The home was well-equipped and beautifully decorated. We also liked the fact that it supported other local businesses by selling some rusk and other food etc. Our highlight was swimming in the plaas dam. We also loved the boma. The home exceeded our expectations.

My wife and I stayed there during a trip through the Northern Cape. Evening rest is an oasis in the desert. It's a beautiful restored building and carefully furnished and equipped. Great air cooling which helped a lot. The hostess was pleasant and friendly, and accommodating when we had to check in a little later. We give it five stars. Thank you very much for the wonderful overnight stay.

The braai place was well equipped and one could socialize here. The location was good regarding the Augrabies waterfall.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Avonsrus. We were there for 5 nights and could have stayed longer! Ria-Lize and her family are extremely friendly and hospitable, and the environment is special. The house is well furnished with everything needed. Would recommend it any day!

Evening rest is really particularly nice and well rested with attention to the little things. Everything you need is there, including lots of ice which is essential in Augrabies heat. Ria-Lize and Jaco are excellent hosts and make delicious food! They went out of their way to make us comfortable. It's absolutely worth eating both dinner and breakfast and Ria-Lize's apricot jam is a must! Thank you 2!

We had a lovely stay at Avonsrus. Everything was great and neat and highly recommend them. They even put a camping cot in my room for my 14 month old son.
Avonsrus is a beautifully restored place with a wonderful atmosphere. The house has everything that makes the stay comfortable for any traveler and the interior is stylish, yet practical. The owners welcomed us warmly and made us feel very much at home. A day visit to the Augrabies Falls is easily within reach.

Jaco and Ria-Liza are hospitable and make you feel at home immediately. We were on a tour to retrace old steps and it was great to stay over in Augrabies in such a beautiful place like Avonsrus. Everything is new and so creatively done, and it's just as the name says: "Avonsrus - it gets peaceful in the evenings!" We would definitely recommend it!
We didn't know what to expect and were then pleasantly surprised by this beautiful little place! The decor was striking, the house comfortable and equipped with all the necessities. We immediately felt welcome. The delicious braai packs and lovely breakfast basket saved us a lot of trouble. It was, unfortunately, a short stay and we hope to come around this way again.
