Our stay for 3 nights was very pleasant despite the weather being very cold and wet. With the fireplace, additional blankets, and heaters, we felt very comfortable. The undercover outdoor braai is great, and the indoor cooking facilities could be improved. We were made to feel very welcome by the host, who was available if we needed her for any assistance. Our suggestions to make guests more comfortable with some small items were welcomed.

Lovely house! All the amenities you need in a nicely decorated, cozy space. The little pleasures: soft towels, good mattresses, comfortable sofa and chairs, luxury linen, spacious bathrooms.
McGregor has been one of our favorite places for a quiet weekend getaway for many years and this time we stayed in the lovely, spacious, beautifully appointed 'Away in McGregor'. The decor is exquisite, the house is fully equipped with everything we could possibly need and the fireplace was heavenly when it suddenly got cooler on Saturday. We stayed on the huge covered porch and the view over the lovely cottage garden was balm for the soul. The house is located in the lower part of the town and right on the main street, but it has great security and if the front door is closed, the chatter of the passers-by doesn't bother you at all. We and our four children also really enjoyed the board and garden games. Another great treat was the fact that each room has its own bathroom. In the end we had lovely weather after the cooler Saturday and as already mentioned enjoyed the porch and garden, but with the fireplace, gas heater, panel heaters and extra thick blankets a winter visit here will be just as nice!
We had a lovely stay in Away in McGregor. Friendly service and a beautiful house with everything you need. Nice for a family to relax. Would definitely recommend!
