29 guests' feedbackOur third time at Awelani. Great service and safe accommodation near Pafuri gate. Friendly service from the staff.
Staff was friendly. Our stay overall was great! The food was delicious, and the views were very nice. It felt like we were actually staying in the Kruger Park! Also, there is a pet cat which walks around the camp, and it is the sweetest cat I've ever met!
Nice soft mattress with lovely linen.
We enjoyed the stay very much.
Couldn't find anything wrong.
We were met and greeted by Solomon, a very passionate manager. His approach was very professional and he worked very hard to make our stay pleasant. We enjoyed the best T-Bone steaks ever and enjoyed the time watching rugby. We did not get to see the cave and rock paintings, nor did we go for a walk, which was a great pity. We will make sure that we allow enough time to enjoy the sightseeing the next time we visit Awelani.
Very neat and clean unit with everything you could need.
We stayed overnight and everything was according to wishes, as in photos and descriptions.
Second consecutive year that we visit Awelani. Excellent location and extremely neat accommodation. The local residents benefit from the facilities.
Very nice place, very safe, very nice houses and very tidy, walking paths, barbecue in the cave, very good place, would love to go back.
It is a very peaceful place where you can relax. The management and cleaners there are very friendly. It was convenient because it is 11 km from the Pafuri gate at Kruger National Park.
Awelanie Lodge is the perfect getaway for anyone, even families with small children. It is incredibly safe, the cottages are child-friendly as well as the parts outside the cottages. The swimming pool is nice and close, with soft green grass. The hiking trails are very nice, and there are many to choose from. The animals and birds are also amazing - the Mongoose came to visit us in the house and my little girl loved it!
The manager went out of his way to assist us with helpful tips about the Lodge and surroundings. Thank you very much for the friendly service and help.
Awelani is ideally located near Pafuri gate. Clean and comfortable. Friendly service. Little effort. Nice environment.
Management was very helpful and accommodating, willing to help beyond their duty. Place was super safe and I enjoyed a good night's rest. Will definitely stop there again, if only to say hello. Good luck for the future, you have a lot of potential.
Friendly host and staff. Can't ask for more. Tents are comfortable.
Friendly reception and very helpful. Accommodation basic, but clean, tidy and comfortable. Compliments to the chef. Very beautiful nature and close to KNP. Will stay there again.
The Lodge was very empty due to the Covid pandemic. The chef came in specially to make us dinner. The rondavel was well equipped, comfortable and clean. We had a lovely walk to the petroglyphs (5 km round trip). Very good service, deliciously indulged in a basic, very reasonable dinner in the restaurant.
See stars.
So close to the Kruger. So close to the border.
Very comfortable and close to wildlife park.
My first time, did not know what to expect and would go back there and now that I know what they have on the site my planning will be better. Could not use the restaurant for we did not know that they do not have card facilities there but can now plan. Nice place to enter the Northern Kruger Park. Also good for self catering. Staff is very helpful and friendly even starting at the main gate. Would suggest that the owner must just install cell phone booster to cover the whole camp with signal.
Rooms tidy and accommodating in all respects.
We stayed in a safari tent on 17 August 2018. Only suggestion was a bathroom mirror for shaving! We returned to a bungalow with our grown-up son on 19 August, more old fashioned accommodation, but very clean and to be recommended.
The chalets are very nice. The lodge is set in a lovely area and well laid out. The desk area could use more light for business travellers.
A stunning setting with boabab trees and cliffs, our hosts made us feel very welcome and at home, dinner was a lovely braai out on the patio, we enjoyed stayed staying in the safari tents which were nestled in the bush. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed walking to see the cave paintings. We will definitely be back and bring our mountain bikes next time.
As a larger family with teenagers and small children, we spent the night on our way to the Kruger Park. It was delicious.
There should be decent security. It is quite remote.
Incredibly expensive for what you get. To set the table in the chalet you have to carry everything out. It rained after we lit the barbecue - there is no shelter. The so-called braai area is also just a piece of uneven ground. Empty ice trays in the freezer. Staff varied from surly man to giggling woman.
