We slept over for 2 nights, on our way to Cape Town. Everything in the cottage was perfect! Great sleep, fully equipped kitchen, the coziest porch overlooking the vineyards and the children could frolic outside to their heart's content and play in the river with their homemade boats! We as a family had a fantastic weekend at Badensfontein. The place is very neat, spacious and offers everything you need for a peaceful break away from the city. I would also like to thank Tyron (agent) for his professional help and going the extra mile in booking this accommodation. He is truly a great asset.
We had a great time cycling and jogging or on the dirt roads of Badensfontein. The scenery was incredible and the Koo Valley is a beautiful part of the Western Cape that we were not familiar with before. The house was properly equipped and we lacked nothing.
I don't know if toilet paper is part of self-care. It was too little for 4 people who were available.
Great place to relax. Just bear in mind this establishment has got 2 sites for accommodation, 2 cottages Merlot and Ruby on the farm, and 3 cottages in the mountain, near the campsite.
Badensfontein is well located, not too close and not too far from Montagu. There are good possibilities for mountain biking in the area. There are nice walking routes and also good bird watching opportunities. Then there are also many wine farms to visit. A nice place to stretch out.
Nice braai facilities on a large stoep with a nice view. Inside also well equipped. Only 1 bathroom in the unit.

Our stay was enjoyable. We had one child with our family group. Positives : Sankie was very friendly and accommodating. We arrived later due to traffic and she was accommodating. Security was sufficient. The stay was peaceful. Wifi was sufficient. Grass areas for picnics and playing was good. Negatives: We stayed in Steenbokkie and Ribbok. . Steenbokkie needs some attention in uplifting of the cottage. It was advertised as a 5 sleeper but is was not suitable for a 5 sleeper. The shower drainage structure was not working well. . Ribbok was a suitable house. The oven was not working though. Both cottages Fridges were not big enough. . The pool is small and would not fit many people. Large families with many kids would struggle. The fishing at the dam was fine but very hot. No shaded areas. The cottages are situated on the roads and cars drive directly pass the cottages which is a disturbance, dusty and a safety issue when smaller kids are playing in the front area.
Had a great stay at this farm just outside Montagu. The house was excellently equipped and exceptionally clean. The farm is conveniently located - it's really not far to Montagu or the Koo or Keisie valleys. We appreciated being able to cool off in the pool in the evening! Sankie was also immediately available if we needed her, and was always friendly, smart and professional. Two things that could have been better: Google maps navigates you to the wrong farm when you search for Badensfontein. It would be nice if you could fix it with them. Sankie was immediately available on the phone, and quickly pointed us to the right place! Of the doors hook. Would be cool if they could be sanded to shape. All in all, we had a great stay, and you will definitely see us again when we are in the area. Thank you very much!

This was our second visit to Badensfontein. The cottage is very well furnished. It has everything one could need. The men enjoyed the fishing. We also had a nice walk around the farm. We were received very kindly and everything was perfect. Will definitely go again.

We stayed in Ruby Cottage and which was light, airy and spacious. It is a pristine, well-equipped cottage with scenic views all around. The check-in and check-out process was professional thanks to the friendly owner and staff member on duty. It makes for a very comfortable base from which to explore the town or just to kick back and unwind.
It was breathtaking! We had a wonderful rest and visit. We think we will definitely be able to stay that way forever, once we reach retirement age. Everything we needed was there, you literally just pack your food and clothes. Thanks again for the kindness.

Well equipped tent for self catering and everything has been thought of. Amazing to sit outside in the evenings, loads of birds in the area for birders. Great value for money. Shower on the inside needs some instructions on how to get the temperature correct - we struggled with that.

We had a great time in the tent. Almost didn't even feel like a tent, everything you needed was there. The warm blanket, air conditioner and Nespresso machine were a nice treat - especially in winter. We also had 2 visiting guests - 2 mouse dogs who sit around on the porch and watch us. All that may be missing in the tent may be a few hooks to hang keys, locks and cloths. Furthermore, we enjoyed it so much! Had a nice walk in the field. One night it rained and the wind blew, but the tent stood firm. No leaks etc. didn't have Would definitely recommend the tents!
Thanks for a lovely breakaway at your tranquil accommodation which has all the necessities. A real home away from home. My family really enjoyed our stay. Pierre and Santjie are wonderful hosts and the Steenbok cabin was really well kitted out and far enough away from the other cabins to have privacy with a magnificent view of the beautiful mountains. A real treat for a winter getaway, I suspect it gets very hot in winter.
Normally when you arrive at a guest farm you are warmly welcomed, but not in this case, we were a bit early to check in, but the hostess/gentleman made no effort to come and welcome us later, the air conditioner inside leaked in the living room, we had to put towels and a bowl under the leak so that the whole living room is not under water. A bad experience for us, but otherwise not a bad stay.

We found Badensfontein very easily and were received very kindly upon our arrival. The location of Ribbok is absolutely beautiful and very safe. It is really very far away from the city noise. A wonderful, peaceful long weekend. The Steenbok cottage was cozy and well equipped with everything we needed. We were surrounded by beautiful views of the vineyards and mountains and every morning went jogging around the pond in the cool morning air as the sun rose. There is no better way to start the day! The campers near the cottage were also quiet and were not a disturbance in any way. If you are tired of the city, this is the ideal place to come back to life.

Accommodation comprises 5 tastefully decorated luxury cottages including Ruby, Merlot, Ribbok, Duiker and Steenbokkie. All units are fully-equipped and suited for self-catering purposes. In-room facilities in all of the units include air-conditioning, a TV with DStv, a lounge area and a braai area.
There are 2 private luxury tents located in the bush of Badensfontein. Each tent is equipped for self-catering with a kitchenette including a small fridge, microwave, kettle, induction stove plate, Nespresso coffee machine and braai facilities. Please note that there are no ovens in the tents. Each luxury tent has its own private bathroom with a shower and an air conditioner to keep guests warm in winter and cool in summer. Bedding and bathroom towels are provided.
Badensfontein also offers a multi-functional venue, Cabriéres, ideal for special functions, conferences and workshops. This unique, restored cellar, dating back to the 1800s, is situated en-route to the beautiful Keisie and Koo pass overlooking the vines with the majestic Langeberg as a backdrop. It can host 60-80 delegates, classroom style, and approximately 140, cinema style. Guests can send a brief on the specifications, and the rest will be taken care of.
Establishment facilities on-site include a swimming pool and secure parking. Nearby activities include mountain-biking, kloofing, abseiling, paragliding, fishing, bird watching and riverboat trips up the Breede River as well as wine tours in the Breede River Valley.
