Lovely hidden cottage. Beautiful porch and braai area, lovely little river to pee in. Would have loved to have a nice table and chairs on the porch too!
Gerrit was super helpfull, place is easy and clean. Kids loved it too.
What a truly beautiful setting! In winter though, it gets really cold. One is given a bag of firewood, but charged thereafter if you use it. Moreover, the furniture is very rickety. Our seater outside collapsed while we were sitting on it enjoying a glass of wine admiring the view, tipping us onto the cement, for all of which we were separately invoiced. Not a lot, mind you. But I cut myself trying to save the glass, and it still broke.
This is the ideal place to unwind away from the pressures of the city. The cottage is tastefully decorated with antique furniture, the views are splendid, and it was an unexpected pleasure using Clementina van der Walt crockery. Gerrit's dog Chunky kept us company on both days and walked the 4km with us to Peter Bayly Wines. What more do you need on a country break than a generous stoep, an unmatched view, and a friendly dog? Bailey's Riverside Cottage has them all.
Warm and friendly welcome by Gerrit, lovely accommodation, beautiful view, very peaceful, will definitely go again.
We were kindly received by Gerrit and had everything we needed. The location of this accommodation is perfect for exploring the area, but is also perfect as a destination if you just want to rest.
Simple comfortable accommodation with a very special location. Quiet, clean and tidy.

Gerrit was very helpful and friendly, could call him freely if anything came up. The dogs enjoyed themselves, and Gerrit didn't have a problem with the fact that they were big dogs. The only negative thing for me was no burglar bars in front of windows. Not a criticism at all, I just like to sleep with a window open but was too scared as a large person can fit through most of the windows. Slept with everything then. A braai would be nice but it's probably spoiling. Very nice stay and will go back again.
