We had a nice overnight stay. It is a bit expensive for South Africans, even though it is located in the bush, but there are other people accross the river and close to a train, so no bush tranquility. Friendly, helpful staff, delicious breakfast. Chocolate on the pillow at this price?
This is a very nice place for a short week getaway. The owners make you feel like royalty. From the drive into the park we experianced the Kruger wildlife. I do recommend this to anyone that likes to be spoiled.

We stayed within the Riverside Cottage unit of Baluleni Safari Lodge, which is also managed by Elke and Erwin van Eeden. We only spent one night there but loved it. The welcome was warm and friendly, the facilities excellent, and the view from the deck on the river very special. Also, the interior furniture, bed linen, towels, kitchen, braai area and all other amenities were of the highest quality and can be totally recommended.
We are going there AGAIN.
All that is missing is aircon.
Baluleni Lodge is highly recommended. If you want to be peaceful and enjoy the animals and nature, this is the right place to go.
We had a great time at Baluleni Safari Lodge. Evert and Elke made us feel really welcome and one evening Elke made my sons' favorite German dishes, viz. Made Eisbein and Sauerkraut special, after she heard they liked it. You don't just get it! 10 out of 10 for hospitality!
The food and hospitality was "great"! We had a very nice rest in the forest. Would recommend it.
This is really value for money. Everyone is very friendly and the accommodation very tidy. Very peaceful atmosphere. The food is great too. Can really recommend.
Wonderful hosts, great food, beautiful setting. Road a minor challenge, but manageable if you drive slowly or have a higher clearance vehicle.
The food is not good and the mattress on the bed is very soft...
The stay was amazing. All appliances were available, and there were enough fridges. It was peaceful, calm and quiet. We will definitely come here again, next time with the whole family. The pool a real bonus!
Thanks for the best vacation ever! Elke and Evert are the perfect couple to run a lodge! They are hospitable, friendly and above all love nature and its animals! The peace and quiet of Baluleni is just what one needs to forget about life's hustle and bustle.
Our accommodation was lovely with such a lot of space. We are very happy to sit on the stoep and see what comes by. We would have liked to be able to see the opposite bank of the river and next time we shall book River Cottage which has the view. Elke and Evert were charming hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our game drive with them. Loved the sounds of the elephants playing in the river at night.
Friendly people, good facilities and very nice area! You can relax and rest at Baluleni Safari Lodge, but the road is not suitable for cars!
We had an unbelievable week at Baluleni Safari Lodge. Elke, Evert and their staff are wonderful, friendly and professional. The attention to detail makes one feel very special. The environment is beautiful and peaceful - true rest for body and soul. Thank you Elke and Evert!!!
This is an absolutely beautiful place in a beautiful setting; however, their details regarding their positioning and location need to be much clearer. We have a vehicle which we do not even take on gravel roads, let alone on the almost 4x4 route which takes you to this establishment. This was definitely not clear and we actually had to load all of our luggage and passengers into the owner's Land Rover and drive our vehicle out empty in order to make it out. What was also not clear on was that the dirt road will take approximately one hour to travel, before you reach Baluleni. It is a lovely, clean, tidy place but is definitely NOT a stopover for one night. This is a place that you visit for four days or more.
Everything at Baluleni Safari Lodge was incredible!
It is a lovely place to wind down for a week end. There are some 'wild' animals like warthogs and monkeys, that come and go through out the day. At night there were a few elephants that passed by, and we could watch them from the lounge window.
