It was a lovely place to stay. We were booked in for 5 nights, it is 100m from the sea, perfect location and tidy. We had a problem with the toilet, within 30 minutes there was someone to check toilet. Will definitely stay at Barbiers Bliss again.
We really only needed a place to sleep and the place was spacious enough and comfortable enough to sleep over for one night. Thank you very much.
Perfect small clean spot for a surf weekend right near Albatros Beach. Everything you need and able to park in the garden behind a secure gate. The cottage is quaint and small but a good affordable option for budget travellers and ideal for us as we only stayed one night and were there to surf.
Despite the fact that the advertisement is misleading, at least we had a nice stay. The space is just a bit small, especially in the bathroom.
Had a wonderful holiday in Jeffreys Bay. Didn't realize I paid so much money to stay in a wendy in someone's garden. Place needs a lot of attention. None of the crockery matched and was not clean either. The bathroom cabinet is rotting. Really don't want to pack toiletries in it. Bed was not comfortable at all. Dive in the middle, so you roll towards each other. The garden was terribly untidy, there was a terrible pile of broken shells right under the table outside the wendy. Trash bags were also not removed. A plus is definitely the Netflix and Amazon Prime, and although you have to take your own towels, they did provide them. Thank you very much. Feel the host could have stopped by to see if everything was alright.

Horrible experience! Disgustingly dirty. Beware! We did not stay, we left after we saw the state of the room to sleep somewhere else. The host wanted to offer a bigger room. His excuse for the condition was that it's cheap! Cheap and tiny does not have to be disgusting! The bathroom had empty toilet paper rolls and smelled like urine. The "room" is a dilapidated prefab wendy house in the back of their overgrown garden.
Value for money but lacks some supervision and monitoring. Little foxes destroy the vineyard. Duvet wrong, and so on. Would also like to see an outside photo.
Only one problem is parking. Car had to pull over and it wasn't right for me.
They only gave two towels for 5 guests.
The location is fantastic as it is close to the sea but I would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone - specifically unit 3.
There is not enough parking for vehicles as well as not safe. The unit needs a good cleaning, the cupboards in the kitchen are dirty and we found old food in them. One of the bedrooms has a sky light that illuminates the entire room from early in the morning. The grass in the braai area was long and compost growing everywhere as well as the garden set there is a hole in the table and standing in the sun all day so the chairs are weak and dangerous. The shower just injected into the corner which I reported but apparently couldn't be heard so I had to let him know again when we got to the unit but decided not to because I made him aware via whatsapp and he decided not to ask us. The free WiFi doesn't work all day either, I can understand if the loadshedding is on but the same thing happened if there was power. Then the wifi doesn't work everywhere, only in the kitchen. We feel we paid too much for the quality of the apartment.
The "One bedroom flat" is a wendy house! No wonder there are no photos of the outside. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet, and basin, but there are no lights. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, oven, and stove, but there is no dishwasher and one wouldn't fit anyway. There is a TV in the lounge? Lounge?

Advertised with Wi-Fi but only have signal in one room, rest of the unit no signal. We were provided with only one garbage bag for a weeks stay, our full bags were placed by ourselves on the pavement for removal.
Inner grill broken and dirty. Fridge dirty. Mats dirty. Outdoor grill dirty. WiFi doesn't really pick up, only spot spot 1 dash. The sofas in the photo are outside in the rain. Most blinds in the house are broken. Half a roll of toilet paper for a 4-day stay. Microwave just so dirty. The house in general just doesn't feel fresh.

Was pleasantly surprised with the spacious apartment. The full DSTV package, lock up garage as well as an indoor and outdoor barbecue was an absolute bonus. Safe neighborhood and close to the beach. The bed and bedding were of good quality. The bathroom, especially the shower, needs some attention. Furthermore, everything was tip-top and well equipped.
Would be good if a cleaner comes in for some cleaning, especially bathroom, kitchen floors etc.
Hot water from the geyser was intermittent while showering. We were not offered fresh towels during our 7 day stay. No washing line and no light at the outside braai area.

Definitely value for money. Very friendly reception by hostess who showed and explained everything in the upper apartment. All the basic necessities are there. Short walk to the beach and not far from shops and eateries. The braai on the balcony is a plus although we didn't use it. The lock up garage is a further advantage. However, the shower door's space into the shower is very narrow and inconvenient for larger persons. Can recommend the place with confidence. Will stay there again if we go in that direction.

We thoroughly enjoyed the few days at Barbiers Bliss. Trish is an excellent hostess. Each of the apartments has its own private entrance and guests do not really come into contact with each other. We had the top flat and it was fully equipped for self catering with its own private braai. We will definitely use Barbiers Bliss again and recommend it to other people.
My husband and I were in Jeffreys Bay for a course. We were only looking for a place to sleep with facilities to make breakfast. It was convenient for us, we felt safe. The fact that our car was parked in a locked garage at night was very reassuring. Trish received us kindly.

We rented the house which is located on the ground floor, with a large covered patio and covered barbecue. Very large kitchen with gas oven and hob. Place was spotless, 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms and sun room. Even the WiFi reception was very good. No complaints, everything needed especially for the kitchen and bathroom was there. Friendly welcome from the hostess.

Barbiers Bliss is not the most modern of places, but it was very convenient and clean with LOADS of space. Good value for money. Within walking distance of the beach. Even though it is set against the highway, the traffic didn't bother us at all. It is a home that's been divided into separate living units - we stayed in the part comprising the old house which is better suited to a family, but it was comfortable. For the amount we paid, it was definitely our money's worth. Nothing too fancy, but clean and convenient.
We spent two lovely nights at this little getaway and enjoyed every moment. Clean and well-equipped. The gismo which removes moisture from the air (under the washbasin) kept our crips nice and... well... crisp! Trish and Johan made us feel welcome and at home and the only thing that they didn't do was... stop the wind! We have our own little self-catering business (no advertisement meant), but we could look at the unit through the eyes of both guest and host and Barbiers Bliss came out tops. Good luck to the both of you and Barbiers Bliss. Next break, we'll know where to book.

The dampness in the flat is awful, it has invaded everything from the curtains to the couches and everything in between. The mattresses are terrible - seems like they need replacing with QUALITY mattresses. It would have been nice to know about the availability of towels a few days before we arrived as travellers from overseas are not contactable once they've landed ... The locking of the outside sliding door was not as easy as the owner advised.
