We were kindly received on arrival and taken to our room. It is a very peaceful environment and atmosphere. We also felt safe.

Please look to your pillows because their time is over. Bathroom lacks mirror at sink, men can't shave. One bed's mattress is also laid out. Rubber mat under shower mat will be safer, tiles are very smooth.

The unit was very neat and clean. Contains only the most basic. Coffee / tea not replenished on day 2. If you plan to use the accommodation only for the night it is ideal but offers little more.

Although everything was clean and tidy, it was very disappointing when our dirty coffee cups were left just like that, they didn't wash them or replace them with new ones for the next use. Better quality coffee and milk will already increase your stars. Even water for drinking purposes is always needed in any place.

The air conditioner for such a hot place was not up to standard, but otherwise everything was very good.

Our bathroom looked nothing like advertised in photos. There is no mini fridge available. TV out of order, no remote for TV or air conditioning. No burglar bars in front of bedroom windows, so had to sleep with closed windows, with air conditioning for which there is no remote that can be turned on or off. In front of windows there are no blinds or net curtains, so you have to close the curtain all the time for some privacy. Other guests also parked the gate again so that no one could leave the premises. Because of all the defects, clocked out earlier, are now still waiting for "refund".

No burglar bars at doors and windows. One room had fleas and we had to spray our whole bodies. Coffee, sugar, milk cups, but no spoons. Very nice garden and pool area. Expected more guests since it stated "sold out".

Had an amazing time here and went to all the attractions. Stephan the host was amazing and made us feel at home. He went out of his way to sort us out for the braai and microwave for popcorn and movies. Was a very comfortable and easy stay.

The double bed is uncomfortable. The stairs/ladder in the rooms to the upper room do not feel safe.

Neat affordable accommodation. If I may make a suggestion: We got there after hours, and had to go into the bar to check in/book in. It did not create a good impression at all of an otherwise neat establishment. Apart from that, we had a very nice stay, and the nice, big swimming pool is definitely a great asset. Friendly greeting.

I travelled the R62 and booked an overnight stay at the venue. The premises is well maintained and geared towards the modern traveller. The customer service was excellent. The room was clean, smelled fresh, was spacious and had a view of the swimming pool. The only setback was that the shower still had a shower curtain instead of the glass panels. As with hotel rooms, the room came standard with coffee and tea facilities and a television. You can also pay for secure off-street parking - which I did. I really enjoyed my stay at Baron's Palace and would highly recommend the venue.

The Baron's Palace advertises that is has a restaurant. We were running late for the check-in as we drove all the way from Pretoria. We phoned to ask what time the restaurant closes, we were then told, there is no-one to cook food over weekends. This is unexpected from a place advertising as a hotel. We specifically booked this place because it said hotel, rather than a self-catering because we knew we'd be travelling far and thought it would be better than to look for food after the long day. Upon arrival at the "hotel" there was no sign of a restaurant. There was, however, a bar (pub) with pool tables and (we later saw) a mini "casino" because they also had a separate room with a few slot-machines. lots of smoking, no ventilation. No restaurant. Moreover, the room we were placed, had a mini fridge and a microwave. This is more of a self-catering. I we had wanted self-catering, we would have booked at a place that quoted us R400 a night for the two of us. This was R650 a night. By the time we realised this, we had already booked 2 nights and we couldn't get a refund. When we arrived the second time, there was no microwave in the room. When we asked about there being no microwave this time, the manager told us our choices were: a double bed with no microwave, or a room with single bed(s) (not sure if they had multiples) with a microwave. Please note, both nights cost us exactly the same. Same cost, not the same facilities. Given that there were other options in the area when we booked that also would have cost us cheaper, and we would have prepared better so as to not be caught off guard after an incredibly long trip to have to go looking for an open restaurant. Advertisement is definitely misleading. I checked on their website and it says the same there. Incorrect information and misleading to people new to their establishment.
