Very nice apartment with lovely wood floors, Persian carpets and tasteful modern furnishings. As we have found before in South Africa, pay a bit more and you get a lot more. Very well equipped, and within walking distance to restaurants (safe too!). The owner was flexible and accommodating. My only quibble is that there's only one comforter in a double room, so I had to pull out the sleeping bag (Cape Town winter is pretty chilly)!
Place was very spacious and clean, photos are accurate representation. Had a wonderful stay.
Barry Hall Apartments is exactly as portrayed in the images. Great location and the apartments are immaculate.
As mentioned we were very happy with our visit in September 2022. We made a reservation for my family to all stay there together on the recent visit. On the 1st night the managers called me at 9:30 and accused us of making noise and the neighbors were going to call the police - we were all in bed by 9:00! She didn't even ask if it was us, just got really upset about our noise - although she apologized the next day, I was very disappointed with how she handled the matter. The next day she called again and said the other family who were staying there complained that the door and gate were open - again only accused and did not ask if it was us - under no circumstances did we leave the door or gate open! 1 of our guests did see someone in the street, but he was at the gate at all times, so I don't know if it was then, but as mentioned I was once again not given a chance to say anything, only accused. What was even more strange is the other family the night before when we came in at 08:30 the woman let the man go out alone in the street - she said she was going to stay at home - so can't understand that they think it's safe to walking the streets alone at night (and they are old) but want to complain if the front door is open during the day - just doesn't make sense. It was not a pleasure to stay there and I certainly would not recommend it after the treatment we received there.
The "host" was unfortunately unhelpful with one of our requests. I asked if she could help us out with steak knives for steak grilling and tall glasses and she simply said the house didn't. Without trying to help us. One of the apartments' beds is incorrectly listed on the website. The one king-size bed was two single beds in two different rooms. The braai facilities need attention. The large construction next to the unit where work was done on Friday and Saturday was disturbing. Otherwise, neat, big apartments. We had a nice time.
We felt that the kitchen appliances should be upgraded: The kettle leaked and the stove top heated very slowly. Extra blankets should be available in case of weather changes. Availability of parking places is a limitation.
There is a very big apartment building going up, next door, so the construction noise is real, starts at 06H00 and stops at 18H00 on Saturdays - very noisy, if you want to work from the flat. We also found the flat not clean - stove, microwave and bathrooms can do with some deep cleaning. There was a spill of something under the washbasin in our bathroom - looks very suspect.
We were there for the bike tour. Close to the promenade, could enjoy cycling to the stadium and back. Just a pity we were not informed about construction work on the site next door, big machine, very noisy for the next three years.
Clean, spacious, comfortable, good linen, quality fittings.

Amazing scenery all around! Amazing place to stay! Amazingly close to all that makes Cape Town such an amazing place! Truly amazing!!! And so affordable.
Would stay there again anytime! It is very nice and clean and has all the amenities you need!
