This house has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Each unit has ensuite bathrooms which either have shower or bath facilities. There are 3 units which are furnished with a king-sized bed, 2 of which have a child-only bed for 1. The other bedrooms are furnished with a queen-sized bed the the other with 2 child-only beds, and the next one with a child-only bunk bed. Each room is equipped with fine percale linen encased duvets, double stacked hypo-allergenic pillows, woollen blankets, fluffy white bath towels, tea- and coffee-making facilities, air-conditioning or a fan and a panel heater for the cooler evenings. The TV lounge area is spacious with table tennis, board games and DStv. The formal dining room table can seat between 12 and 14 guests. Guests have access to free Wi-Fi and a patio which has ample patio furniture is available to relax on the veranda and enjoy the stunning view of the horses and vines. Barry House has a large garden which is filled with horse paddocks backdropped by the scent of roses.
Firewood is provided for the large braai which has outdoor solar lighting. The scent of roses and honeysuckle attracts birds to the large garden. The tall established shade trees are a haven for birds - 115 species have been spotted from the garden alone. Lazy birding and sundowners can be enjoyed from the comfort of the Victorian gazebo overlooking a shallow water furrow. On the opposite end of the garden a Victorian jungle gym and sandpit, or a game of giant pick-up sticks, will keep the youngsters entertained. There is safe parking under the oak trees.
There is an inverter and batteries in place to ensure no power outages such as load shedding occur. This supports the TV, Wi-Fi, microwave, fridges, and veranda ceiling fans and some of the lights will operate. The air conditioners and farm water pumps don't work during power outages and load shedding.
Guests can enjoy wine tasting on the neighbouring wine estates, sample the delights of Robertson's fine restaurants and shops or just chill and play croquet on the lawn. Perhaps a horse could be enticed with a carrot on a leisurely stroll around the farm. On a hot day a swim, or a spot of fishing in the Breede River.
The accommodations offer the weekend guests a late afternoon check out so that they can enjoy a leisurely Sunday and get the most out of their weekend getaway.

21 guests' feedbackCalm atmosphere. Great for a large group. Owners are incredibly hospitable. There was everything we needed in the house. The experience of seeing a mare foal was very special.
Incredible hosts and place.
Barry House and the owners were absolutely fantastic! We had such a nice time and everything was as you would expect from a farm visit. Genuine Cape hospitality and care. We will definitely go again and recommend it 200%. Porch hangouts can't be as fun anywhere!
Beautiful peaceful surroundings. Very neat and clean. All essentials for a nice visit are available. Was very happy about that dishwasher!
Very green and beautiful, enough space for everyone to hang out together.
Fantastic, traditional farmhouse with plenty of space. Lovely living area with table tennis table, comfortable outdoor barbecue, spacious en suite bedrooms with beautiful decor. It was wonderful to stay in such a house with so much history. The hosts, Duncan and Natasha, were very helpful and within reach for any queries. The guest house is conveniently located near Robertson in beautiful surroundings. We look forward to visiting again!
Duncan and Natasha you were the best! Thanks for the chats and the great treat for the bride and groom. Lovely house with everything and more than we needed. Thanks also to the housekeeper for doing extra chores. A fantastic relaxation time with the family. We really enjoyed the open space and spaciousness. We would love to stay there again. Good luck and blessings to you on the farm.
Very nice, the house has a lot of space and is very neat. Will definitely stay there again.
Rooms were neat and well furnished. Firewood was provided. The house lends itself to a nice gathering. Duncan and Natasha very friendly and helpful.
The house is in a peaceful environment. The living rooms and bedrooms are exquisite. The set table in the dining room was very tasteful. I would like to relax there again.
We loved our time at Barry House. Such a characterful house with lots of space and beautiful surroundings. The hosts were so helpful and friendly too, thanks!
The house is beautifully furnished and we loved the antique pieces in every room. Every room has its own character. The kitchen has everything you need. We had a great time sitting on the patio with its beautiful view (and horses). We will definitely recommend Barry House!
Very nice stay with everything you could need. Owners were friendly and very helpful.
A lovely weekend away spent in the most beautiful home. We had a wonderful time at Barry House and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The house was perfect for accommodating a large group and the hosts, Natasha and Duncan were welcoming and made sure we were all sorted. Can't wait to to back.
We will definitely remember this for the future.
Barry House is a stylish farmhouse with a beautiful view of the mountains and horse camps. The staff are helpful and friendly and the house has everything that you need to make your stay hassle-free.
Barry House on Riverton is beautiful, stylish and full of old fashioned charm. The owners are hospitable and friendly and we will definitely stay there again.
We were warmly welcomed and the beautiful, spacious house and setting were a great surprise - even better in person than on the photos!
Our lot of golfing ladies got lost in this big house. Everyone was more than satisfied. This is the place to stay. Golf nearby, wine farms even closer and some of the best restaurants. Thank you Natasha and Barry.
We were a family of 6 adults and one 2 year old child. The house is so big that you can't hear each other. You have so much space and also lovely living rooms. The rooms are beautiful. The tranquility will stay with you for a long time. There are NO other guests - the horses grazing just opposite the house create such a peaceful atmosphere with the most beautiful mountains in the distance. In the evenings you hang out until very late. If you want to go to town quickly, it's only 4 km, but then you'll be back in a hurry. In short, you are pissed when the time is up and you have to go home again.
