The lodge offers accommodation in 9 tented safari units, accommodating 2 guests in either single or double beds. Each unit is complete with 220v electricity, air-conditioning and an en-suite bathroom.
The lodge offers early morning and late afternoon game drives in open vehicles, as well as guided walks by experienced rangers. Enjoy dinners around the campfire, watch game drinking at the watering hole in front of the camp, relax around the swimming pool or sip on a beverage, served by the friendly staff.
The kitchen offers you a wide selection of mouth-watering local cuisine. Sit inside our thatched dining room or enjoy a romantic candle light dinner in the garden under our majestic Marula trees. Bar and Meals by special and direct request only. Requests should be made at least 1 week in advance.
Daily activities can be combined to visit some archaeological sites, fishing in the Palala River, archery and clay pigeon shooting as well as adventure trips for the kids. The Bateleur Bush Spa is ideal to escape into the beautiful surroundings of the African bushveld while being treated into relaxation and revitalisation. Various spa packages are also available at the lodge.

Nice bush break in the Waterberg area.
Lodge is in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, the pictures didn't match the tent we were in but we still enjoyed it. Some upgrades on shower taps, aircon and cutlery/crockery are recommended. We still had a great stay.

WiFi is poor and non-existent as well as the prepared food is very disappointing, other than that, to self-cater and the surroundings we will def be back. The massages and staff were very friendly but need to be more on-site but super helpful.
We were pleasantly surprised with the accommodation. The outdoor shower is fantastic. The platoon ride on the river is recommendable. We had a wonderful rest. We will definitely see them again!

Very nice place. So peaceful, relaxing and very clean. The staff so friendly and very helpful with whatever you need. I will also like to send a shout out to Ruan: so kind and he treats guests very well and is patient. We enjoyed the target shooting with him and also the game drive. To the lady at the spa (Mandisa) you did a great job. And lastly, but not least to the manager, Dalene: since day 1 she was good, making sure that our stay at the lodge was massive and our travel as well. Very kind woman. I definitely recommend it to anyone, especially couples who just want to unwind and relax at a private place with beautiful nature. This is the place to be.

On our arrival we were warmly welcomed with drinks by Oneè. It's pretty green this time of year, everything was neat and organized. The pool's water was deliciously lukewarm and we could spend the whole day in the water. Amazing peaceful getaway for those who just want to get away from the busy hustle and bustle of the city. They exceeded our expectations with a romantic meal we had booked. They put so much effort into making it special and the food was delicious. Appetizer to dessert was specially made for us with candles and a log fire to create the atmosphere. The spa treatments and game drives are also recommended. Thank you Bateleur Lodge for an unforgettable break.
We truly had the time of our lives. Altus and Delien made us feel so welcome. Rooms nice and clean and lodge beautiful. I would say the package with breakfast and dinner is a must as well as the meal in the forest. Many thanks to Bateleurs Tented Safari for the rest and very nice weekend.

We had a very good stay - except for the following: The owner - Phillip - is a very nice man but I think they should send their new admin lady on a course as to how to deal with clients.
We just had a quick stopover stay, but it was unforgettable. The food, client service, accommodation and lodge was out of this world. Will definitely go back.

Would definitely recommend if you just want to relax and be peaceful.
It was a very nice destination for the family, but there are a few points to point out. Expected a welcome drink and warm cloth as advertised on the website. Hot water not available for 3 days and 5 month baby has to be bathed at another unit and taken out in cold air to return to tent, is only restored on the last day. Hot tub was out of order when we asked, but activated when foreigners arrived. Bar was out of stock. Camp was not thoroughly cleaned after each night. Disturbing music was playing 24/7 from the adjacent farm and never rested at night. Didn't see any wildlife around the camp and we wanted to just turn around and walk in paths when we were told we weren't allowed to disturb the wildlife and had to go for a walk with a game warden which would cost us R195 p/p. Very nice camp, but lacks better service to local customers and not only focusing on foreigners. Electronic maintenance is in poor condition and needs improvement the camps really have a lot of potential.

We stayed 4 nights in one of the self-catering tents. Air-con is a must in the summer and was very effective against the heat. Accommodation is very private and far enough from the neighbours. Pools and lodge are well maintained and all the luxuries one needs are available.
We had a great time at Bateleurs. The whole team (Monique, Petro, Bianca, Wynand and Pieter and the others behind the scenes) immediately felt like family and made us feel at home. Food was delicious and we enjoyed sitting and watching the animals when it was feeding time. Except for the distant thud-thud of music (probably one of the nearby squatter camps or a taxi or something), it was absolutely blissful and peaceful. Overall we would definitely recommend it and would happily go back again. Thank you very much!

Was a lovely place with lots of privacy.
Beautiful, beautiful place. Tent houses are well laid out and furnished, but many disappointments. Called a month in advance to book game drives. They said you book when you get there. Arrived there and wanted to book, all game drives are full. Bateleur indicates that they have spa facilities. After the disappointment of not being able to go on game drives, we asked if we could use the spa. We were then told that the supplier was late with the spa products so we would not be able to use the spa. On the day of our arrival, we were kindly told to use the pool facilities before 17:00 as they have a family barbecue from 17:00. So, not full access to so called amenities for a paying guest. Communication and service delivery was extremely poor. Every time we had to ask ourselves about activities offered, what time and when. And then in any case the staff made shifts again with times etc. as it suited them. Lunches and dinners are not offered as per their menu/rules. When we asked for lunch, we were told that they don't make just for 2 people. Luckily we pre-paid for breakfast so they were obliged to make it. Following all the above, we checked out of Bateleur a day earlier. So still lost money, but could no longer stand the service delivery. We tried calling the owner, left 3 voicemails, and sent a text to share our condolences. Staff said upon our arrival that the owners were not there. We are currently still awaiting any feedback from the owners. In summary, it's a beautiful place, but it all comes down to service delivery. A guest always goes back to a place that has provided good service and where staff do not hesitate to go the extra mile.

From reception to checkout was professional and any queries were answered with ease. The road directions to Bateleur were correct and easy to follow. The tents are neat and well maintained and the grounds are well maintained. Bateleur is recommended for any nature lover.
Wonderful time in the bush.
A bit confused on the first day only the unit was not set up for self catering, moved to another unit the next day. Was a lovely break, the air conditioner is a must in the Bushveld summer.
Everything was clean and tidy and the surroundings are beautiful. I do feel that they should rather not entertain other guests while there are hunters as the hunters are first priority. No other guests can go for a walk or drive around the farm because of the hunters, which means you can only sit in the camp.

The Lodge is very neat and clean and we enjoyed the silence. The dinner was delicious and the game drive and safari walk was an experience.

The service was very good and the staff extremely friendly and helpful, the mattresses were just old. It is worth visiting the spa, a pleasant experience in the forest.
The evening's visit by the fire was pleasant and the provision of cutlery between tents was good. The complaint is the disturbance caused by the dogs by often barking next to the tents.
Wildlife is excellent and the staff very hospitable. We really enjoyed sleeping over there. Next time we would like to take advantage of the hunting opportunities.

It's just an unprofessional setup - two young men and two young girls are left to look after everything. The four of them end up at the bar from midday until late in the evening and there is drinking and partying with rock hard music. Not at all what I had in mind. Spreaders are turned on early in the morning around the tents and I have to walk through the pouring rain to get to the breakfast table.
