24 guests' feedbackThe music in the diner was too loud during dinner. The crew was not ready with meals as per the stipulated times.
On arrival reception was very cold. We were not told about free WiFi, dinner times and costs. No further explanation on activities at lodge or in the greater Battlefields area. Breakfast was below average. The internet pictures of the accommodation was not the same as the actual accommodation.
Asked for duvet for children's bed and only told that one of them should sleep under the blanket. Little things like curtains that weren't hooked up were noticeable. Beautiful place, but rooms and service leave much to be desired.
Both my wife and I found the Lodge amazing. The room was fantastically clean and tidy and the service was friendly and prompt. The Battlefield Country Lodge is a must if you want to live centrally located when you want to tackle the Battle Field route. We would like to thank the management for the wonderful time we had living there.
Will definitely recommend Battlefields.
Accommodation is just too expensive for the silo we stayed in. You pay as much in a 4 star hotel and then it is a much bigger space.
I would recommend the place to everyone.
Good accommodation, poor communication with staff, struggled to find the dining room by ourselves, but clean and beautiful.

According to the web there is a fully equipped kitchen. There were only 2 mugs, 2 glasses, fridge, microwave, kettle. No kitchen ware, not even a teaspoon. The fact that you can braai is also not true. You have to buy meat at the kitchen and they braai it for you and you receive cutlery. This should be mentioned - the lodge is not self-catering. The rooms really need some maintenance. Carpets must be washed. Blinds are broken. Shower head is broken. Towel railing falls off. Kitchen curtan falls off. Very friendly staff and nice bed with clean white sheets. Amazing nature.
A beautiful place. But what a disappointment when I saw our bungalow. A small room 4 m by 5 m of which 1 m has been set aside for a tiny sink, shower and toilet. No soap. No water glass in the holder by the sink, no double plug to charge a mobile phone. Small mirror far from a wall plug (when I called and asked for one they brought an international plug), can't see if hair is blowing, no toilet freshener. Have to call again for A/C "remote". Sheets thin and washed out from years of use. Towels just so thin and small, can't even wrap around the body. Popped it in the trash after use. Hope someone gets the message. Later found out it was a "budget room". Why was this not mentioned to us at booking? It is just good enough for children who are with a school tour group, but then it is hopelessly overpriced, because 2 single beds are also small! Luckily the breakfast wasn't too bad. Had to wait for cutlery as there was an overseas tour group and everything was already in use!
Enjoyed my stay in this lodge full of African heritage.
A great location from which to explore the battlefields and a nice relaxing place to come home to. I would stay there again.
The customer service was not very good. Some of the staff would like to help, but the system is not too well developed to help them. For one night's sleep it is ok.

Funny... the accommodation was B&B, but breakfast was extra at R100 per person and dinner was R95 per person. The food was very tasty!
Very nice. Slept well on good beds. Environment looks nice and will definitely recommend my friends who want to visit the battlefields.
We enjoyed our short stay very much.
Battlefields grounds and buildings are very well maintained and safe. Staff friendly and helpful. Bedroom and bathroom nicely furnished.
Was very pleasant, there are just a lot of cobwebs and ants and the bungalow. Very hot despite air conditioning.
The staff can go to the room with the guest. I have been looking for mine for quite some time. The TV programs are mostly concentrated on sports and I didn't have a channel that interested me. Please pay attention to it. For the price I feel that there should be shampoo and shower soap in the bathroom. I did not like that the staff at reception asked what I paid, as I had already paid the full amount to LekkeSlaap and the staff "feel" I still owe them money.
Reception on Sunday evening and designation of accommodation need some attention. Despite booking more than 3 months in advance and confirmation by email 2 weeks in advance, our accommodation was not ready on arrival. We only arrived after 17:00. However, we were very well received and afterwards really enjoyed our stay.
