It was very neat and well located. The owners were very helpful with information. I landed in the Cape very late in the evening and was only able to check in late in the evening. The owners were very friendly and accommodating with that.

The TV did not work at all for 3 days. The electricity was off on Sunday morning for a mysterious reason. Notwithstanding that, it is a lovely place, near to shops and close to the beach. The lounge is massive and the kitchen extremely comfortable to prepare your food.
First of all I will say that we made the mistake of choosing the place as a family vacation, guest house for vacation was not a good idea at all. Now for our experience, the room is very small for a family. The shower leaks water, the doors don't seal properly, so when the wind blows a lot like it does there, the doors slam all night. The place had a lot of people booked during the time we were there, the self-catering section needs a lot of work. There were not enough cups or plates or any kitchen utensils for the number of people. Poor service as owner was not even there to meet us once, dirty pans when we got there and wanted breakfast made in the morning. Braai area, I'm sorry, is not one. The braai is full of holes and stands on a very small porch right next to another room's window with no shelter from rain or wind, and coals fall out that burn one's feet. Loads of times came back that nothing was locked, so felt very unsafe. Then, finally, on our last night there were new people there. But, as was learned later that evening, there was apparently a problem with their payment. The owner arrived for the first time since we were there with other guests there and in very poor style kicked up a big noise and fight and kicked the people out with their child in the middle of the night. I'm very sorry but there are other ways to deal with something like this. Would not recommend the place at all.

The accommodation was neat and clean, there were other guests who lived on the second floor who made noise, but otherwise it was very pleasant.

Location not in a good neighborhood. We were confined to our room, as there was only a common social area available. Very hot and only a fan available (no air cooling). Upgrading kitchen area, so there was a very strong paint smell.
It was everything someone who just needed a place to sleep could ask for.

This was the first time I had arrived at a guesthouse and I had to call around to get someone to open the gate. I then had to ask for the keys, and I was not given any information. Basically if I wanted to know something. It was up to me to hunt down someone for help.
Place is neglected, kitchen incompletely equipped, many more to mention. Security is false, electric fence not working, security camera out of order. Room looks nice on the surface, but on closer inspection, broken and neglected. Sorry to say, but it's the truth.
Had great time and establishment is wheelchair friendly and accommodated my wheelchair bound friend. Owner very friendly went out of her way to open for us at night. I recommend Bay breeze.

It is a very nice guest house and everything is so neatly and thoughtfully done. However, being the only ladies there for the night we felt if there were burglar bars we could have opened a window a bit as it was very hot. Blinds in room make a noise when opening windows, had to close it due to wind. No fan in room. Had to go to early Sunsay morning and there were no staff at the guesthouse at 8 o'clock I had to open a gate for 1 of the staff members. Had to wait because we did not know where to leave the key and remote. It made us almost miss our flight.
It is a house divided into rooms. What makes it beautiful is that each room has its own personality. Neat and clean with the connoisseur hand of a lady for the decor. Apart from the fact that the rooms have their own TVs etc. has, there is also a communal open-plan kitchen and lounge. The little garden outside with the braai facilities (Weber) makes it tempting to grill a little meat with a nice view of Gordons Bay's mountain range. The home's accommodation costs also make it easy on the pocket to be able to enjoy a longer holiday. This home is truly a gem in Gordons Bay.

We had a great stay. I worked by day so my wife was alone during the day. The location made it easy to get to the sea, restaurants and shops. The only issue was that the rooms were freezing. Maybe we should have asked for heaters but they should have recommended it. The owners were friendly and helpful all the time. Otherwise we enjoyed it and we had a wonderful stay.

I am very unhappy about the woman who welcomed us, she didn't say hi she just asked why we arrived so early to fetch the keys. She shouted "did you pay" from her car. Apparently she is the owner's mother, she checked-up on us outside and sat in her car.

I was a bit disappointed. Bay Breeze is clean and tidy, but it definitely felt like a home where rooms are rented. After seeing the photos I expected a little more. We didn't have a bad stay. Something they should look at is the smell of mothballs or something similar you can smell through the whole house. To drive around to fetch the keys at another place isn't ideal either. The room could do with a makeover, new curtains etc.

It is very important for my spouse and I to know that a place is accessible for disabled people. Was surprised to find such an accessible place. Clean, neat and everything was on its place. What a privilege to meet these people.
Parking can be a problem. I will also feel safer if there are burglar bars in front of the bedroom windows that I sleep with the windows open.

Parking was a mess. At one stage there were 3 vehicles and I was parked in. Aircon outlet for the top floor is right above the bottom unit's entrance and the water drips on you when you try to enter. I made a booking for 2 adults. The assumption was made that it was for a couple which wasn't the case. It was for a friend and I and we don't share a bed. There was a single bed which had to be made for me after I had explained that the 2 adults weren't necessarily a couple. The website doesn't offer you the opportunity to specify the bed arrangement and say how many beds you need.
Was under the impression that it is a guesthouse/B&B with security as you expect from a hospitality establishment. The security gate by the front door doesn't lock and no burglar bars at the windows. No 24 hour staff that keeps guests under control. It is affordable and the rooms are well-equipped, it is just not the right place for a single woman. The manager is very friendly.
Reception by owner (assume it was the owner where key was to be collected) was curt. Parking area is limited. Hear other guests in lounge chatting until late at night (12:40). Needs some maintenance: Door can't be locked, toilet that doesn't flush properly. Nor from previous guest. The room is very clean and spacious.
There are no burglar bars, so it is not possible to open the windows for fresh air and wind. No aircon, just a fan. Limited parking. There are 5 rooms and if it were fully booked, getting in and out would be a problem. No roof or shade for parking - have to leave car in the sun.

Bay Breeze can be recommended for persons who only need a place to sleep over for a night or two, then the fact that the guests in the lower rooms have to share a bathroom may not be a problem. In light of the fact that in this case one had to share a bathroom with strangers, it would have been good if there were cleaning products available in the bathroom, so that the bathroom could be left neat and clean for the other guests. Hanging space in the bathroom and rooms is a problem. Extra toilet paper in the room is also useful as some of the toilet roll was removed during our stay there.
The house was neat and clean, but there is no burglar alarm or alarm system. There was also no rooibos tea in the room and only one coffee and sugar. The owner could not give me a receipt either.

There wasn't much privacy since it's a room in a house. Although it has a lovely bathroom, you still have to share it with the other people in the house and you never really feel at ease. Our room appeared quite tidy, but some of the pillows on our bed were dirty (brown) and it makes you wonder if the rest of the bedding was clean. The WiFi was free between 14:00 and 22:00 and there were restrictions on what you could use it for. The man working there also asked far too many questions. I know he meant well, but if your privacy is already so limited you don't want to be held accountable for everything you do. Furthermore, the house echoed from the TV programs being played in the living room and there was never really silence, even though we were the only guests there. Then I also have a big problem with the fact that they charge a "corkage fee" if you want to bring in any liquor. Only restaurants with a wine list are allowed to do this! Guesthouses are not supposed to make money with their mini bar, their main income is the accommodation. I enjoy a good wine, but will never pay R60 "corkage" if I want to drink a glass of my own wine in a place that is not a luxury restaurant. The wines that were available weren't amazing at all either, so I think they're taking a big chance. It was quite safe inside, but is located in a residential area that is quite a bit away from the town and sea. We did not enjoy our time there at all and would not recommend it to other people, unless you are a group of people who will occupy the whole house.
