Accommodation is reasonable, very secure full control of gates, and the staff is amazing, very respectful.

Would not recommend at all if you are hoping to sleep. Right through the night drinking with lots of people together. Stand on porches to each other and scream right through the night loud laughter and shouting with glasses of liquor outside. Didn't bat an eye and contacted security more than once every night about noise.

1. Did not know that I paid in full through the website on check-in. 2. Had horribly noisy guests filling the entire Lodge who were still making noise at 3 in the morning. 3. No small towel in the bathroom next to the sink - after we asked. 4. Came 3 days before check out to tell us we had to check out today - and never came back to explain where they went wrong. 5. Very neat buildings - with neat furniture and decor. 6. They wash all the towels every single day, which is very nice. But after day 10 of 14 days they still hadn't changed the linen - I pulled my room's linen off and put it on the floor for them to change ours - but our friends' were never changed. 7. They take the bath mat away every 3rd day and don't bring it back until someone asks for it. 8. You pay a R200 breakage deposit and if you report the things that are not there that they have on their inventory list, then they say you don't have to worry. We insisted on the stuff and fixed the list. They also came to see if als was on check-out. Little problems they can work on. Would definitely suggest a ground floor unit instead - much nicer for a holiday with a sliding door to grass where you can braai.

We were there with small kids, it really wasn't ideal for them. No secure play area, we were on the second floor and the units had no balcony either. Other residents were noisy playing loud music in the parking area. Cleaning wasn't up to standard (even though the units were serviced daily). They only clean where it's visible and even then they do it badly. Dirt under couches and beds was still there when we left after 5 nights! Dishes weren't cleaned properly. Ended up getting our own dishwashing liquid and cloths. Not returning here.

Receptionist was unprofessional. Didn't know we were coming. Card machine out of order. Wished we had to withdraw cash. Not helpful at all.

Housekeeping can do much better. The bed linen wasn't changed during the entire 3 days we were there. Besides that, the Hotel itself is beautiful.

Nice place to stay at. Good service and neat place. The only problem with Richards Bay is that the beaches are not very tourist friendly.

Not child friendly. No braai facilities. Fine for a stopover for 1 night, but wouldn't recommend for an extended holiday stay. Reasonably priced but wouldn't go back.

We will definitely be returning to Bay Sun Lodge for a holiday, everything was so clean, neat and safe. The unit was cleaned daily and we were very satisfied with the service of all the staff.

"Bad experience."

Had a very bad experience. Too much noise from the other community members that were staying there. They had all they friends and there is no control from security. When returning from the beach we could not find parking and a lot of noise till morning hours. The cleaners come too late in the afternoon to clean, and sometimes they don't. The manager did move us to another location were the noise were a bit better, but the service from the cleaners were bad. I personally will not recommend any of my family members to stay there.

The stay was nice. The positive was that the apartment was very close to shops and the beach. The apartment was very neat and the air conditioning helped a lot with the stuffiness. We noticed a few small problems with some of the lights that needed to be replaced and the apartment we stayed in smelled somewhat stuffy. The management did help sort out the lights.
