Spent one night, there were also other people in the house. Must be quiet and peaceful in the house, it has wooden floors and sound travels through the house.
Central location that is easily accessible. Other guests were all quiet and composed and also considerate of others. Beautiful old home with lots of character. Bed, bedding and towels were very good quality and neat and clean.
The location was easy to find, close to harbour.
Not saying it's a backpackers. The room was cramped and hot. The bathrooms were clean, but the kitchen was full of dirty dishes.
The mattress needs to be replaced urgently, even if it is a "backpackers".

The reception was good and Johan made us feel very much at home. As if we were at home. Made good suggestions about where we could eat and what was going on in and around Mossel Bay. We were at home and could use the kitchen and braai facilities.
When I arrived they did not have record of my first night's stay even though I had paid the deposit. When needed to be hospitalized for the second night of night stay I advised Bay Vista accordingly but was still charged the full amount for the second night even though it was only my suitcase that occupied the room. Bay Vista did not have bookings for the room either!
Would suggest that air cooling of some kind be placed in the room.
The facilities are clean and neat and the owner is very good with his guests. The place is not set for convenience, it's very basic. It's just a bed, do not expect anything more.
We only stayed one night. Johan received us very kindly and when we struggled to find Bay Vista, Johan kindly helped us by phone to get to our destination. Our room was very clean and tidy. Available facilities were shown to us as well as Johan pointed out the best places to eat. Can definitely recommend Bay Vista. Slept well and restaurants and their workers were so friendly. Seafood fresh from the sea.
The atmosphere at the guesthouse makes you think of your own. All facilities are freely available for use, there is even a place to braai. The owner/manager is friendly, pleased to help and to tell you about all of Mossel Bay's gems. I would strongly recommend this place. And they have their own bedding.
We stopped at a few places on our road trip. It was our very first time in a backpackers and we didn't know what to expect. It was our last night of vacation when Johan welcomed us. The children were immediately happy with the Wi-Fi and Johan recommended the best place for dinner, Kaai 4, and breakfast, Delfino's. Everything was clean and tidy and peaceful. We will definitely be back!
It was an indescribable experience, the safety of our vehicle was a big surprise for us. The kindness of the owner himself, it was an experience to never forget.

We had a nice stay. Everything was nice and clean. Kitchen well equipped. Coffee, tea available for use as much as you want. The host told very nicely where there are different delicious coffee and places to eat - the references were very good and we had a great time. We slept in the front double room. The only thing I would recommend to the host is to put dark blinds in the front and side windows so that the outside lights don't shine so brightly into the room. But otherwise everything was good and delicious. Thank you very much.

It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay and I felt very safe. Had such a stunning view and my car was safe in front of the building. The room and facilities are efficient and tidy, as are the common areas of kitchen, dining room and TV room. Even the parking for vehicles in the street in front of the building is totally safe and convenient. There is only a designated smoking area, so that non-smoking guests are not harmed.
Very nice stay. Johann is very friendly and goes the extra mile. I would avoid the middle rooms in the summer though. No ventilation. Maybe air conditioning an option? But other than that there are no complaints. It was delicious. Thank you.
Only problem was that we had to park our car in the street. It is however a safe area.
When booking, I enquired about safe parking as we were travelling on motorbikes. They told me that they had safe parking. Had to park my motorbikes on the street. Very unhappy.

Cheap accommodation but house and rooms are clean, neat and well maintained. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival. Felt my car was safe parked on the street as cameras cover the area and the owner keeps an eye on the cars as well. A pleasant and unexpected surprise on departure was a generous meal voucher for breakfast. I would recommend Bay Vists to anyone requiring inexpensive, quiet accommodation.
The room where we slept should rather be used as a storage room, it's really not meant for paying guests. We got bitterly hot in the room with no window or ventilation, it was horrible! We will definitely not go again.
