It was okay. Our place had a musty urine smell seeping through the bathroom. There are no ceiling fans and the rooms aren't sealed off. The seating was hard and uncomfortable. Currently I won't recommend it.

Yes and no, the one double bed's mattress was slept through, where one group stayed the bedroom smells very musty. Chair plastic from their back broken. Had to pay breakage on arrival. Glued floor at one chalet broken, covered with carpet, my son stepped through it then recovered. Geyser at 1 ruptured 2nd day after arrival, only repaired after 2 days. Rented 3 chalets of which 1 was acceptable, would recommend the chalets at #37 more for backpackers.

People are very friendly. Place is nice, neat and clean. Nice view of the beach. The gate is also used by the guest house and this makes it feel impersonal and unsafe. The guest house's people leave the gate open. Furthermore, we had a very nice stay.
The place is full of lizards. You understand it's the coast and the climate plays a role, but the first night we already had to throw out 20. The place was full of jik to remove the rotten smell, even the fridge was full of jik puddles that made our food taste like jik for the whole week. The taps and water also had a fishy taste for the first few days of our stay. The toilet had a huge leak which left a horrible smell in the whole apartment. All our clothes and towels etc contained the smell. The puddle had to be swept up every morning otherwise you couldn't walk there. The couches are not sleep friendly or sitting friendly themselves, they are extremely uncomfortable and cause back and neck pain. On arrival the place was very dirty - the dust made riffles in the shower as the water ran over it. The gate is very heavy to open and it does not lock at all times. It is a great concern for the safety of one's vehicle that cannot be parked in sight. The place is not at all suitable for 4 people, as mentioned you can't even sit on the "sofas", however you still don't want to sleep.

You can't expect 5-star for this price, but it's value for money, seeing as it's dirt cheap. It's not exactly beautiful or luxurious, but fully equipped with everything you would need. A car gate would be nice, the gate that is up now is old and heavy, and there are a lot of bushes and trees around the yard, so it feels a bit dangerous to struggle with the gate in the dark. But it's ideal for someone looking for a budget-friendly place.
Gas geyser was out of order, and later had to take a shower next door.

Jessica and Marius are superb hosts and one can really see the love and hard work they put into their cottages! The cottage really caters for the young family looking for a safe, relaxing place to truly enjoy a holiday! We loved the monkeys visiting the garden and, being bird lovers enjoyed, the various species visiting the lush subtropical garden nestled between indigenous trees. Beach Wood cottages are close to both the main swimming beach, shops and other entertainment without being in the rush. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back! My partner and I had an amazing stay at the Garden Cottage. It's a comfortable and homely cottage, tastefully decorated and clean. We had everything we needed for a week's stay, enjoying the option of cooking in or eating out. The beaches and shops are all nearby and there's plenty to do around. Great value for money and Marius and Jessica were awesome hosts, very friendly and helpful and always available. Would highly recommend.

Home entrance feels unsafe after sunset, especially because one has to get out and unlock it.
Location of cottage is between Uvongo and Margate which is amazing as you are able to take a short drive to the beach. Images are deceiving as the cottage seems bigger than actual size, however it is not so small that 2 ppl are not able to move around comfortably. I do suggest a larger room, should it be a family of more than 3 ppl. There are security camera's on the premises, making you feel safer as it is very close to the highway exit which comes past. There is plenty of moving vehicles. The gate is however not automatic posing some risk. For travellers from Gauteng, ensure you pack/purchase bulk supply bug spray. What you spend is what you get - can't expect 5star otherwise the cottage is very quint.
It was the cheapest accommodation we could find in the area, and for poor students it was a good and important thing. We needed the vacation, and Beach Wood Cottages' cheap prices are what made it possible, and for that we are very grateful. The Groenewalds are very friendly, and it's easy to see how much effort they put into the place. I get the feeling that they do everything themselves, without garden workers and so on, and that should be recognized. I'm really impressed. We lived in Silverleaf, and it was adequate for 2 people. I would not recommend that more than 2 people live in the cottage as the single beds are terribly hard. Remember a sponge and dish soap, what was available didn't last long. Know that there is a R500 cash deposit, we got ours back without any trouble. It's a log cabin, so don't expect a hotel. It's cheap and here and there there was something broken beforehand in our little house. Furthermore, we had to be very careful not to break anything ourselves. We were happy to see the security business show up every now and then, it made us feel safer. The entrance to the site is in an odd location and is difficult to get in and out of with a large vehicle. Coral tree's parking is the only one where you can get out easily. Learn to shower quickly, the hot water doesn't last very long. Long story short, it's small and cheap, but most of the other places are over R1000 per night. We are grateful for the affordability, it gave us the possibility to have a seaside holiday.
Everything in the place was broken. We tried to help them fix it but no hope. Very disappointed that there was not a braai. When we do the dishes, spoons fall down the drain and don't come out. My little girl couldn't really play outside either, because it wasn't really closed, just seemed to be closed by trees, but no fence.
Shower is a problem as well as the oven. Parking is poor and standing in the sun all day. Was so indicated, but still.

Place was remote, not all it was advertised to be. We did not get the cabin we initially booked. Things were broken. Geyser did not work properly.
Letter handed to me stipulating any damage caused to sewerage piping, damage to lawn will be for my account. The sewerage soak away is open without a cover. This is very dangerous as a child could fall in and it's very unhygienic.

Wow, we were totally surprised with the value added accommodation offered! Super clean and very well equipped cottage.Truly a great holiday hideaway. The hosts, Jessica and Marius, are such a friendly and helpful couple and went out of their way to cater for our every need. The well maintained cottages are very secure and central to both the swimming beach, shops and other entertainment. We absolutely loved the tranquillity, abundant bird and wild life and have already booked 3 cottages for a family reunion later on this year. We also will definitely be back again next year for our annual holiday!

The double bed's mattress is really slept in, your back feels good every morning, the garden needs urgent attention and an LED outside light costs little and uses almost no power.
We experienced very irregular water problems and ended sick with the flu due to water either being burning hot or ice cold.

We had a very nice week's holiday (10 days actually). We only wish it was longer. Neat unit with a breathtakingly beautiful garden. Braai facilities. Very close to 2 large beaches, and many more in the area. There is a robot at the crossing that makes the route to the sea very easy. The owners were really helpful and immediately helped with any queries we had during our stay.

This is definitely a 'holiday' home away from home! You arrive at a great located place (away from the road). It's a small piece of paradise of lush green garden and trees. The unit is separate offering maximum privacy. Plenty of space, all amenities that you can think of are available, just bring food and drinks - malls are within 5 minutes. Partial sea view from the front door window cannot be described in words especially in the morning. This is relaxation at it's best! Marius and Jessica are such amazing hosts, we hope to see them soon!

We booked the Tree top cottage, but the owner changed our accommodation to the Coral Tree Cottage, without permission, because it was safer for our 2 year old. This cottage was totally inadequate for us as a family. The sofa beds are narrow and hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. The owner had to bring a single bed for my mother. The bathroom door was broken and did not close properly. The shower is hot for a short while and then goes cold. The braai area was dirty and so were the chairs and table outside. We were very disappointed in the accommodation. This was not what we booked and we will never book this type of accommodation as a family. The website helped. They realized that the owner changed our accommodation without our permission and got the rest of our money back from the owner and got other accommodation for the rest of our holiday, because we definitely would not want to stay here for our whole holiday. However, the owner only gave us 1 hour to evacuate, which we couldn't do, and withheld another extra night's money, despite the owner's mistake of changing our accommodation without our permission. The whole matter was very distasteful and I would not recommend this stay.

Knoxgore Sea View Cottage has a beautiful view of the sea and nature. The beach is not that far from the cottage and on your way you get an opportunity to view the surroundings. The beach is nice in the sense that it doesn't get very crowded and you feel safe. It was very nice for our family, we will definitely do it again.

It's very pleasant, although the problem is there is no one to go through with you and make sure nothing is broken. When we checked in, 1 bedside lamp was broken. And we will probably be held responsible. Otherwise, peaceful and pleasant.
On our arrival at Knoxgore Sea View Cottage there was no one to receive us. The Bush Cabin was not at all as it was advertised on the website. New photos of the Bush Cabin were uploaded after our arrival. We had hot water for a minute, after which we had to keep turning the faucet in the shower on and off to get the gas geyser to ignite again. There are large slits between the planks of the floor where one can see right through to the ground. Not at all a pleasant place to stay with two small children and not worth the money we paid.
