The cottage is fully equipped, with a comfortable couch and TV, outside braai area for relaxing, and a cozy bath if that's your thing (it is ours). I would 100% recommend, and hope we get to visit again.
The accommodation is perfect for a peaceful break away from all the daily grind.
We really enjoyed the lovely little house/cottage on the farm that offers everything you need. It's quiet and peaceful, situated just outside Oribi Gorge National Park and Lake Eland Game Reserve - a must to visit! The cottage itself is lovely, with complimentary wood, milk, a well-equipped kitchen, heaters, warm blankets, and an electric blanket for extra cold nights. We really enjoyed our two nights here!

The weekend at Beechwood was like a mini holiday. Privileged to stay on a beautiful family farm, also lots to see and do in and around Oribi Gorge. The cottage is well-equipped with quality linen and equipment and everything needed for self-catering. Back-up plans for load shedding are in place.
Oribi is a fantastic place to visit, whether alone or with friends/family. I really enjoyed the hiking trails. The reception was friendly at Beechwood Cottage. Very helpful. Will recommend to friends and family.

The cottage was lovely. It was bigger than we thought. It is perfect for 4 adults since it has a bedroom and bathroom that is separate from the main unit.

Beechwood Cottage is beautiful, the unit is clean, tidy and equipped with everything you could need (kitchenware, fridge and freezer, plenty of blankets, mosquito repellent, even a washing machine). There is a lovely stoep and braai area with a beautiful view. It is the perfect place for a self-catering break and the tranquility, silence and beautiful view make it perfect for resting. It is close to Leopards Rock, Oribi Gorge, and Lake Eland so there are many activities within a short driving distance. Brigitte is a wonderful hostess and received us with kindness.

Amazing from beginning to end. Well located. The setting was gorgeous. We loved watching the mist drift across the mountains from the lounge and patio. Great open but safe place (fully fenced) in front of the cottage for children to run and have fun. We had a visit from the Woolley Necked Stork- so tame. The hosts were lovely and hospitable. There when you need them, but then they leave you to relax and enjoy. The rustic decor of the cottage made it cosy and homely. All essentials are there - including drinking water and milk! Can't wait to go back!

Beachwood Cottage is the perfect place to stay to explore the Oribi Gorge. Safe and secure, close to the viewpoints and full of information. Rooms were spic and span clean and kitchen well equipped. Wood to braai and charcoal were provided for, so we could choose how to braai. For us the perfect stay and great value for money!
We had a great stay, the cottage just smelled terribly musty and had water damage. Would recommend that it be looked after before renting out again.

Had a fantastic stay as a family with a small child. Very impressed with the furnishing and all the attention to detail. A huge bonus was the firewood which was delivered free of charge for the fire pit. The sunsets were incredible. Will happily recommend this place to friends. The flies were a bit irritating but a small price to pay for the beautiful horses on the property and the scenery.
We were very happy with the treatment at Beechwood and the facilities during our stay. The cottage is great quality, both because of its comfortable and appropriate facilities. My highlight was their decoration of the house. It had that homely feel, except that it was a bit cold, but other then that we had a great stay.

We enjoyed staying at Beechwood cottage with friends. There was charcoal for the braai and wood for the fire pit so we could sit up late and appreciate the surroundings.
The accommodation was awesome, clean and convenient to all the necessary places we need to be, quiet and very clean. Everyone was polite. One point though, they need to cater to decoder that are PVR or Explora compatible. We came with our own and we couldn't connect it. Overall it was a beautiful stay.

The location was perfect and it was delightful to have everything we needed there. What impressed us most as a family , was the fact that we arrived at the destination very late after a super long drive, and the accommodation had everything we would need the next morning to survive before we could go shopping for groceries. The delicious home-made rusks were a winner. The best part was when we arrived back at our little place in the afternoons, very tired, and it was nicely cleaned. We travel a lot and this is definitely one of the better, more comfortable, nicely furnished places I've stayed. I could definitely recommend this accommodation. We had a great time and were heartened by the hospitality of the owners.

Brigitte is a wonderful hostess who makes a lot of effort. The cottage is located 25 km from Shelly, away from the noise of holidaymakers. The house is neat and clean with everything you need - even a washing machine. It's ideal for mountain bikers. Can recommend it for sure!
It was most enjoyable but we are unable to be totally objective resulting from the adverse weather conditions which is beyond the control of anybody.

Our lights were knocked out by lightning that night. Within seconds the owners were there with candles and offered to give us food. Fortunately the lights came on after 5 min.

We stayed at Brittige's Beechwood Cottage for 5 days. The house is very nicely finished and has everything you will need. All the beautiful and adventurous attractions in the Oribi Gorge area are within a 20 minute drive from Beechwood Cottage. If you are looking for a place that is nice and quiet where you can relax, Beechwood Cottage is the answer.
At first glance we were impressed with the residence. It's when you take a closer look and walk in that you immediately feel comfortable and at home. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. Wood was provided with braai "briquette" and even a full bottle of milk upon our arrival. The fridge is a decent size and everything is very clean and tidy. The residence is also close to the Zipline and Oribi Gorge Hotel which have attractions with plenty of things to do. The only thing was that we didn't realize to take our own DStv decoder, but upon enquiry, the owners insisted on using theirs. I can't wait to go there again and experience the hospitality and tranquility of Beachwood cottage.
Our cottage was spacious, clean and very comfortable and is very conveniently situated, close to everything we wanted to experience in Oribi Gorge. The setting of Beechwood Cottage is peaceful and quiet. We look forward to staying there again at some time in the future.

Exceptional. The cottage is very well equipped, better than expected. Heinz and Brigitte were awesome hosts. Had a such a peaceful time. The cottage is nice and private away from the main entrance to the farm. Worth every cent we paid. Will definitely go back there again.
I found Beechwood Cottage to be modern, well-equipped, extremely neat, tidy and clean! It is tastefully decorated and the kitchen is well equipped. The bathrooms are a pleasure to use. I was absolutely pleased at having the full DStv bouquet on offer as well, as we were able to watch some Currie Cup rugby after a long day in the Oribi Gorge and Lake Eland. It was a pleasure to stay at Beechwood and I would highly recommend it to other people.

Boma and outdoor stoep stimulated hours of conversation time. Very thoughtful host, even firewood and charcoal were provided.
