Guests have access to a courtyard, swimming pool and jetty, shared with the owner. There is also a loving Great Dane called Muesli and Ola the cat on the property. If guests aren't comfortable with dogs or cats, then the owner will ensure they stay away.
The area is a birder's sanctuary, and there are hundreds of species that visit, including pelicans, herons and owls. There is even a friendly family of Cape clawless otters that arrive on the deck some evenings. A child-friendly park is located right across the road, and there are plenty of shops nearby.
The location offers access to beaches, restaurants, shops, wine farms, Cape Point, Kalk Bay and Simon's Town.

Behr's Lair is centrally located, not too far from the beach but far enough to miss all the hustle and bustle of the beach side, majority of the attractions are between a 5-40min drive, there is a shopping square walking distance should you need anything and it is safe, coming from Gauteng this felt like being in another country. The cottage clean and tidy and has everything you need from cooking appliances and utensils to TV and WiFi. The pool is lovely for when it gets too windy or crowded on the beach and the peddle boats are free to use for a cruise on the marina at any time. Tony is a great host that frequently checks in to ensure you are okay and will help out with any requirements. The cottage feels like home and provides that peaceful environment to just switch off and rest.
It's better to see something once, than to hear about it a thousand times. Muizenberg and Behr's Lair will definitely see us again.
Tony the host was very friendly and attended to all our needs. We are fairly elderly and pointed out a few requirements that Tony was happy to listen to for future clients.
