Berg Cottage is a self-catering home nestling against the mountain and nature reserve in the village of Clarens, set in the beautiful mountainous area of the Free State. This charming sandstone dwelling was built from blocks hewn from the mountain by a "bywoner" in 1929 in order to qualify for the hand of the farmer's daughter. It retains the character and simplicity of that era while incorporating the comforts of today.

The cottage can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. Two bedrooms are furnished with queen-size beds, and the third is furnished with 2 single beds. The cottage also has 2 bathrooms: the first bathroom is fitted with a shower, washbasin, and toilet; the other bathroom is fitted with a bath, washbasin, and toilet.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, and cutlery and crockery. The dining area has seating space for 6 people, while the lounge has a comfy lounge suite and a TV. The braai area is located close to the kitchen.

This large property affords guests the option to climb halfway up the mountain and look down upon Clarens, or to relax and watch the sunset while you have evening drinks.
