Outside is a covered patio with seating and a built-in braai which is a great spot for guests to unwind and overlook the surrounding farm. We loved our stay and would happily return. It's definitely the place to go when you want peace and tranquility. It is comfortable and all essentials needed are in the unit.

Had a fantastic 3 days, clean, tidy and quiet.
One large dwelling divided into 3 (we stayed in a cosy cottage). The entrance is separate but not private as you need to walk past the neighbour's door/stoep (fortunately Intimate cottage is unoccupied). Furthermore, we were disturbed when the occupants of the Chapel awoke at 05:30 to depart at 06:00 (packing up and normal voice speaking). Be aware that you cannot walk on this property as the owners have effectively sealed you in with Private/No entry signs all around. That's their prerogative but would have chosen elsewhere if this was obvious in your description. The indoor facilities/bedding etc. are top class, appreciate the spacious bathroom/shower.
The biggest problem was that we could not reach the institution by phone. On the way we got lost. Tried calling three times, no one answered, not even our message. Arriving at the gate, tried calling again, again no answer. Never saw a soul either. So no communication possible, especially with the place being quite remote.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cosy cottage and fully recommend it to others. Our host Gert went out of his way to ensure that we had an enjoyable stay. The fireplace was great for the cold nights, providing ample warmth and excellent ambiance. Everything about this place is great.

Maybe the owners could just change the entrance to the Cozy apartment so that it doesn't go through the outdoor recreation area of the Intimate apartment. It was quite inconvenient when the vacationers from Cozy checked in and had to walk through our apartment area. We had to move our chairs so they could pass.

Exceptional and very neat accommodation units with a lot of attention paid to detail. Was surprised to find such neat places on a farm. Gardens and units are also very well maintained. We had a great time and especially that we were able to get two units together but still apart.
A special place hidden in incredible natural beauty. Old fashioned farmhouse that is really beautiful with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Will definitely go again and next time take the kids too to experience nature.
We had 2 lovely days at Berg n Dal where we went home in The Chapel. A two-bedroom cottage each with its own bathroom and shower. Beds very comfortable and high quality bedding. The kitchen is equipped with everything one could need and is of outstanding quality. The surroundings are beautiful with a poplar forest and lots of birdlife. The communication before, during and after the stay was above expectations. The WiFi was very good and was on even during load shedding. A bag of wood is provided which is very handy for the braai.

Maybe they can just put in a gas stove for the times when there are power outages. We went for hours without anything hot to drink. And especially in winter it is quite bad not to have hot water. But everything else was really top notch.

The surroundings are beautiful and you are on your own - very peaceful. Cottage is beautiful and well equipped - teenagers were very happy about WiFi.
Will definitely use Berg 'n Dal again in the future. We slept there for 4 nights and took the opportunity to explore Franskraal, Uilkraal, Pearly Beach and all the other surrounding towns. The silence and tranquility on the farm is something special. We really enjoyed the silence.
Berg en Dal Cozy cottage was a surprise. The owner has certainly thought of more than most accommodation owners. It is comfortable, tidy and definitely recommended for a lovely quiet getaway event.

From the very moment we arrived we were blown away by the location & the atmosphere of the cottage. Seems like a gem tucked away in the perfect spot for a lot of rest, comfort and obviously a trail run or two. The cottage was simply a dream to stay in with the perfect little fireplace to keep us and our dog warm and cozy on a rainy weekend in the mountains. Definitively going to return & bring some like-minded friends along.
It's a place where you can come and unpack and get rid of all stress. This is a nature lover's dream.
From before we arrived, we were welcomed so kindly. Zane was helpful, friendly and immediately put us at ease. He is absolutely an asset to the guest farm. There are no words to describe the beauty of the farm. In front of us was a view of an "enchanted forest" that my 8 year old explored as a wild forest with his "sword" to look for the "wolves". His imagination was almost on an adventure, something that city lads get far too little of. The house was clean, luxurious and everything we ever had was there. If I could, I would pack that view from the master bedroom! We will definitely visit again and bring guests with us.
Farm Manager Zane welcomed us with open arms though we arrived late. He made us feel at home already with his welcome. Very impressed with the beauty and maintenance of the farm. Tranquillity at it's best. Peaceful, clean and the best getaway place to rejuvenate. Unit was very comfy, modern, clean with quite a few handy complimentary items. Planning our next stay.
We had a wonderful time. The farm manager, Zane, kept in touch before our stay and welcomed us warmly when we arrived; checking in every now and then to make sure we were still enjoying our stay. It's not often anymore that you experience customer service to this extent. The farm is beautiful. The cottage very neat and tastefully decorated, with all amenities provided for a self catering unit. We had everything we needed for during our stay. We will most definitely recommend to others and will almost certainly be back ourselves.

Keep noise levels down at all times, even more in Apartments Cozy and Intimate as they are adjacent to one another. Quiet time is between 23:00 to 08:00.
Parking is only allowed in the demarcated spaces.
No parties, events or gatherings are permitted.
Occupancy at any time is limited to the number of persons agreed upon as per your reservation.
Upon departure please make sure that the premises are generally tidy and all dishes are done and packed away.
For your security and safety, kindly ensure that doors/windows are kept locked whenever you leave the premises and that food is kept out of sight. Baboons are known to find ways to get to food that is on display.
No smoking is allowed inside any of the units or cottages. Feel free to smoke outside and only use the ashtrays to dispose of your cigarette butts.
Please do not place any refuse within or outside the premises except in the refuse bins provided. Use the bins as marked for the specific waste the hosts recycle.
