The stay was excellent. The place is clean and the service was excellent. Very friendly host.
I suggest some more variety in the breakfast menu would be an asset.
Would have been great, will only cater for loadshedding cases.
Only criticism was that it was incredibly hot and the house allowed and only a fan in the room and no air conditioning (I know it probably should have been mentioned but is highly recommended). And also no ice in the freezer part of the fridge, and no cold water in the fridge - I think the temperature was around 40 degrees. Furthermore, we had a great time and the breakfast was delicious and the hostess very friendly.
Hostess was very friendly and went out of her way to accommodate us. Facilities were very neat and clean. We also received a delicious breakfast. Will definitely stay there again.

There are lovely restaurants in Villiersdorp but they close at 5. There was only one restaurant that was open late for supper. Duroc's Pub and Grill. Their food was very nice and affordable.
Clean, quiet - but don't expect too much in Villiersdorp; friendly people, but limited things to do or see.

We only visited Villiersdorp for one night and did not explore the area much. Guesthouse was very neat and good service.
Disappointed because a 16 year old daughter must have slept on a mattress on the floor, but paid the same amount per night as we did. What was the reason why I had to pass on the child's age with the application? Previously slept at guesthouses that did mention to us that there would be a mattress, then we only paid an additional amount of R100.
Security needs serious attention. A warning of the poor security would have been kind!

The welcome when checking in was friendly and pleasant. The room was tidy and clean. The area is quiet and tranquil and a good night's rest is guaranteed. I recommend the breakfast! It is freshly made, it's tasty and healthy, and they have delicious coffee. You will see me again!

I was hastily looking for a place to stay for a night on a recent trip from Jeffreys Bay to Stellenbosch and back again. Bergendal immediately caught my eye on the website and I was not at all disappointed when I arrived there. I was kindly received by Marlene and everything was beautifully tidy and the rooms spacious and well equipped. I would definitely stay there longer if I had the time. A little gem in Villiersdorp!
We had such a nice stay and it has a nice atmosphere. Marlene recommended the Theewater sport club for a meal and it was definitely worth it!

Bergendal is a nice and quiet place in a rustic environment where the scenery can be enjoyed. It was an excellent choice for us.
Very nice stay. It's just a shame there is no mention on LekkeSlaap that there are self-catering facilities as we arrived there on a Sunday afternoon and there were no restaurants open for dinner and there were no braai facilities available either.
