See stars.
The stove is not working, and there is a lack of extra blankets. The covers on the sofas are dirty, walls are dirty, everything needs TLC.
Was very clean and we enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
We really enjoyed our stay in the log house. Will stay there again next time.
The natural surroundings are extremely beautiful. Place was clean and very spacious. Easy to find and access with a car that is not 4x4. We had an excellent stay. Kitchen had stove, fridge, microwave & all kitchen utensils. Would definitely go back.
Very nice surroundings, we had a nice barbecue even though it was raining.
Photos on website are unfortunately old. A few things have changed, and maintenance has lagged behind.
Short interview. Unit needs to be upgraded and properly cleaned. Shower in lower room and upstairs very dirty. Stove also very dirty.
We lacked nothing in this excellently equipped house, only stayed one night but could have stayed longer.
It was a great stay. Well equipped and neat.
Sophie you are a fantastic person and thank you very much for your lovely place you borrowed to us over the weekend, many memories cherished, thank you so much that we were able to book in earlier, we really appreciated it. Berghaven has everything you need, it's neat and a very cosy place. There was really nothing we could complain about. I would definitely recommend you, 10/10 to you, hope to see Berghaven again soon.
Very cute place, sorry our whole family wasn't there. Would like better security for our vehicle. Can recommend it for sure!
Spacious and very beautiful. Close to the road.
Very enjoyable, affordable stay.
The accommodation is value for money.
Well equipped house - 3 bedrooms upstairs - one a bit small but suitable for 2 children for example. Had a wonderful stay. There is nothing missing, everything is provided, clean and tidy. Will definitely come again.
Very pleasant reception by owner, constant good communication. Extra effort with directions. The place makes you feel at home, everything is neat and clean. Pillows etc. is also washed and does not have human odors. Great care was taken not to be cold at all on cold days, and that's exactly how it was. It was cold and rainy, wood was ready for the fireplace and in the letter where to buy wood we would be out of wood. Although asbestos heaters were cracked against walls, they worked and broke the cold. There were extra heaters in the cupboards. We had a wonderful stay and slept. There was everything and more we needed, like a nice little coffee machine, hairdryer. It was a really pleasant experience with a friendly owner who is concerned about the well-being of her guests.
We enjoyed the stay. Love the beautiful town!
Very nice stay for one night and ideal for a sleepover.
Nice and quiet area perfect for couples and quality time with family. The place was clean and very spacious, we enjoyed ourselves. We were a bit disappointed that there was no pool and the lake was very far and we couldn't access it considering how hot it was. Apart from that we were happy.
We really enjoyed the stay. It was very clean and tidy and had a nice stay. I would recommend the view and the log house.
The traffic at night is quite disturbing and can be a bit annoying. Otherwise it was very nice and beautiful. The friendly service of Sophie was truly a belt under the heart.
There are a number of things within the unit that require attention - Broken heater, some water damage on the wooden floor within the main bathroom etc.
We disappointed, as we had high expectations of the weekend. DVD player, daily cleaning services, gas grill and comfortable furniture in the living area are mentioned on the website, but this was not the case. The furniture was old and shabby. When you sit down on the sofa, you fall between the seats. In some places the curtains are off the rails, the carpet is obviously broken. The owner offered her DVD player when asked, but we didn't want to inconvenience them. We were informed the day before we left for Underberg that the gas grill was broken. However, there is also an ordinary braai, but there is no shelter around the braai, which makes cozy gatherings around the fire impossible. The place has a lot of potential, but I feel it needs some attention.
This really was a gem of a place and all I regret is that we didn't stay there for a week instead of just one night. The owner was also very nice by accommodating us 3 hours earlier than check-in time and even brought us the house keys while we were enjoying breakfast in Underberg. The house itself is brilliantly laid out providing you with everything you could possibly need. Rooms and beds were professionally prepared, making you feel right at home from the start. There are enough beds to easily accommodate larger families as well as the 2 bathrooms which make it easier. The fireplace between the kitchen and TV room quickly transformed the cold Underberg world into a warm cozy atmosphere. We will definitely go back again if we ever travel to that part of the world again. Many thanks to Sophie (the owner) who received us so kindly.
Place was available on time. Clean, neat, tidy. Very small extra things that matter like hand soap, dish soap, wood for the fireplace, airfreshener that smells nice, a hair dryer, two prong plugs. Too many to mention. We will definitely recommend Berghaven and will make use of it again in the future. Thank you.
Even with a wheather forecast of - 1 º C we were never cold. The little house is very neat and well equipped.
I can recommend Berghaven with great ease. The house was well equipped with all necessary equipment and nearby shops. Owner and her husband went out of their way to help us during car problems that left us 50 km from Berghaven. Accommodation is value for money.
Lovely stay, beautiful surroundings, was a bit wet and cold!
Nice and neat. Perfect for larger group.
We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of Berghaven's accommodation as well as Sophie's friendliness and helpfulness. It truly is value for your money. Neat, clean and comfortable. We were there during winter but it was cosy, sheltered from the cold with a fireplace for which they provided wood, heaters in every room as well as electric blankets on the beds. I will definitely stay there again.
It's very neat, clean and comfortable accommodation.
After having toured SA for 3 weeks I dare say that this was our worst experience. Place was filthy, showers were so dirty one should not use them. The wash basin had traces of toothpaste from previous visitors. The bar stools could not be used unless one moved the 2 settees. Definately no value for money.
Berghaven management is not hospitable. Upon arrival we were welcomed by a noise coming from the room downstairs (boys and girls visiting Mavis who lives there). We were not provided with relevant information necessary such as how to operate the alarm system. We were exposed to danger as young boys from the neighborhood could access the property and even get to our door without any trouble. The owner (Cary Walker) could not even understand our request for an iron and the board.
We were kindly received. The place is spotlessly clean. We had a nice overnight stay. A great asset is the Spar shopping center which is within walking distance.
Just look at the stars below.
A clean and tidy house. We will stay there again. Friendly owners!
The home was well maintained! Towels are not provided, so guests must bring their own.
Nice place to stay in central Underberg, close to all shops.
A very nice house with everything you need and to top that - Mavis, our wonderful hostess, to welcome you.
The stay was really value for money and I will recommend this place to all my friends. It was clean and after a long road with rainy weather, arriving here was like fining heaven on earth.
Absolutely stunning log cabin that is so beautifully cleaned! The bedrooms look amazing, with the bed decked out in beautiful, clean linen. Only hiccup was that I was unaware there were no towels supplied. Other than that, this is an absolutely lovely, good location.
Missed that there was not only some coffee and tea bags, sugar and milk. It's always nice when you arrive at your destination tired to be able to drink a little coffee right away.
A fantastic place in Underberg.
