Absolutely every minute! Very helpful staff, friendly, just amazing stay!
We had an absolutely beautiful, tranquil stay. It was like a home away from home but with less noise.
We had a wonderful 2 night stay in Naguiltjie. Very neat, clean and in nature! Comfortable bed, nice hot water in the shower, and everything you need is in the place. Wake up to the birds chirping. It's so peaceful. The only downside was when we had to come home. Would definitely recommend it. Can't wait to visit again!
Japie and Dorie are wonderful hosts. It was lovely to spend time at this beautiful farm. We only had one night and managed a mini hike to the waterfall. We were a party of 7 on a journey to a wedding. Bergrivier set the tone for a wonderful road trip in this diverse and beautiful country.
Recommend! Well planned (rustic) unit. 6 or so well-marked hikes. Lovely birds. Quiet and peaceful.
Cottage has been updated since the photos and so is even nicer.

We really enjoyed our visit. The surroundings are beautiful and the farm is quiet and peaceful. The hosts were very nice and helped immediately when we didn't have hot water on the first night. We were disappointed that we didn't get the unit we booked (Crown Eagle), we were only told on our arrival that there was a double booking.
You have to try this accommodation it was well worth and beyond our expectations. Super special owners with heart's of gold. Farm has such unique history and was amazing to be told stories of the farm by the owners who made us feel so welcome. It was like being at home. Thank you and will definitely be back soon again.

Lovely off-the-beaten-track location, with beautiful views, and peaceful after visiting the very busy beach locations. Conveniently located as a holiday destination or a stopover.
We had a great time with friends and children in Kroonarend. The nature was beautiful!
The nature is beautiful. We couldn't believe it was just outside of PE and so much else. The silence was lovely, but it wasn't boring at all. The hiking trails are very well marked and it feels like you are in paradise on your way to the waterfall. Even just sitting on the porch and listening to all the forest sounds was an adventure. The weekend went by way too fast. The house was big and very comfortable with everything you need. Uncle Japie and Auntie Dorie immediately made us feel welcome. The rich history of the farm makes you feel as if you are stepping back in time. What a privilege to be able to leave our footprints on Bergrivier!
We had a great time. The location, hospitality and value for money are unbeatable. Bergrivier Eastern Cape, you will see us again soon.
There are several routes to go for a walk - the one to the waterfall is very beautiful.

For the second time we were privileged and lucky to find a place to sleep in Bergrivier's Naguiltjie rondavel, on top of a hill with incomparable views of the mountains and gorges of the beautiful surroundings. On Bergrivier, nature is undoubtedly the main player in our experience. It's totally quiet and peaceful, isolated, yet accessible, the accommodation wonderfully comfortable and convenient, with the perfect host and wife, Japie and Dorie. Thank you very much for your kind hospitality that we were able to enjoy.

Very nice place if you just want to be quiet and enjoy nature. Hiking trails were lovely. Safe place just a short distance out of PE. We enjoyed it there.

Very friendly hosts. Comfortable and well-equipped accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed the views, night sky, variation in the landscape and vegetation. We did three of the hiking trails & had delicious swim at the waterfall. The history of the farm and additional information about that and the restored ox wagons, plus friendly chats to the hosts added value to our stay. It is a real breakaway and good for the soul. Great that one can access and visit this kind of location.
The price is a bit expensive for what you get. It's very basic. Nice area.

Bergrivier offered us comfortable, affordable accommodation in the heart of the most beautiful piece of nature. We had a wonderful stay in the rondavel on the hill from where we could look out over the wonderful mountains and gorges. The indescribable silence we experienced inside and outside refreshed our spirits. The hiking trail to the waterfall was beautiful, and I could photograph the beautiful dragonflies and butterflies to my heart's content. The host and hostess warmly welcomed us and made us feel at home. Thank you very much, Japie and Dorie, we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated your hospitality!
Wonderful view from the comfortable and very stylish house, we watched birds from the stoep, and the view across the valley was very soothing. A bit of a trek to the swimming pool at the tip of the valley, but it was worth it. A scenic valley and a pretty and deep rock pool to swim in.
Two nights felt like a week of tranquility. Only the most beautiful of beautiful world and the waterfall was a past bonus. Can't wait to go again.

It's always nice if a new accommodation exceeds your expectations. Everything needed was there, beautifully clean and the old furniture just made for an even more farm feeling. This has been the best break ever! Peaceful and refreshing. Our unit, Kroonarend, was so neat - it feels like you're visiting your childhood home. The nature calms you and is so beautiful. Would definitely go to Bergrivier again!
Enjoyed it so much. The atmosphere is so clean and the view is breathtaking. Did the hiking trail to the waterfall and, wow, wasn't it fun. Very friendly people and the place where we spent the night is very neat and nice and big. There is everything you need. We are already planning our next dates and this time we will definitely stay longer.

The spacious and well designed log cabin was great. We did a hike to the waterfall. The campsite looks great too.
Clean, neat accommodation, several hiking trails with up to a swimming hole at the waterfall. Would like to have an improved braai structure at the cottage. No resting place for grill except a few quarter bricks. Will definitely use Bergriver again.

The gravel road was really too bad for our low car - our coffee powder spilled (lid went loose) and the trailer was filled with it. The host was so friendly and towed our trailer all the way to the top when we departed, so that we could drive the rest of the way. Stunning people.

When you are busy with your day-to-day routine you don't realise how much noise surrounds you. At Bergrivier the silence is deafening. After we unpacked we sat on the "stoep" for a while and just listened. An hour of nothingness and the stress of the city had left us and we were enjoying the relaxing atmosphere of Bergrivier. Our hosts made us feel right at home immediately, constantly checking if we had everything we needed but not disturbing us. We were able to reach numerous mountain bike trails too and there were lots of hiking trails to go and explore.
It's a gem of a place, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The host and wife there are truly friendly and so pleasant. Very clean and tidy and the view is incredible. The hiking trails they offer are so beautiful and yet take some time to ask about the history of the farm... you will feel like you belong there! Lovely and peaceful visit. The large stone house was beautifully furnished with everything you need.
Our stay at the Bergriver was wonderfully relaxing and peaceful. The cottage is situation in the middle of nature... with loads of bird song during the day, and at night, calls from the wildlife. A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of life.
