The unit is well equipped for basic self care. Area is very quiet and safe with a nice mountain view. Would definitely recommend for a few days break or overnight.

The unit was very clean and comfortable with all amenities supplied for self-catering. The decor was stylish and had a relaxing feel. The surroundings in the bird sanctuary were quiet and restful. It felt completely safe as well. The hosts were very welcoming and available. My 2-week stay contributed greatly to my peace of mind and rest at the end of my working day. I would definitely recommend Bergsig if you need peace and quiet, caring, clean, safe accommodation: a home away from home.
The unit is large enough, but it is not updated with today's necessities. No 2-prong plug in the unit. No USB chargers. Light in master bedroom not working. Slow WiFi with erratic connection. The mountain in front of you, as per the other reviews, is a hill that has been built up, not a trekking point. Beds were uncomfortable. I think it was probably good a few years ago, but after we have already been on school tours for 2 weeks, the unit is way too expensive for what it offers in terms of finishes, traveler essentials and just value for money. Oh yes, the entrance is quite stylish, so a sedan car is going to scratch.
Place is spacious, could cook well on gas plates, microwave and braai place with stoep was a nice bonus.

Old furniture and equipment, but at this price you don't expect more than what you get here.
In March we stayed at Sunset View and it cost us R370 for 2 people. Now for 3 people we had to pay R1200 which I think is extremely expensive. We originally applied for 3 people but were given choice of 2, 4 or 6 bed establishment. I assumed we would get the 4 bed offer and with the accompanying price for 4 beds, but was charged full price. In the area shown to us by Mrs Knoetzen, there was not tea or coffee offered and the shower is a terrible experience. The water is either boiling or cold. Trying to get a suitable setting was not possible. The bed I slept on is long past its scrap yard date because the mattress springs are just about to push through the bottom sheet, and made my sleep uncomfortable. I have stayed at a number of places over the years and this one does not compare. Bergsig is not on my list of sleepover establishments in Nelspruit.
It's self catering, so remember your coffee for the morning, we completely forgot. Very friendly people, nice for overnight only. Will definitely stay again.
Very nice stay, nice porch with built-in braai, cute kitchen and big enough for everyone.
Air con worked for a little while and then for the rest of the weekend it didn't, fans in other rooms worked but didn't help, had to ask for an extra stand alone fan. Didn't get new towels every day and had to open and close the gate myself each time (not remote gates).
It's a lovely peaceful area, the rooms are neat and clean. It was really nice to be able to stay there.

Bergsig is a nice place to sleep over if you have business or a wedding etc. in Nelspruit. It is clean and tidy. Beds are very comfortable and reception is friendly.

Comfortable, well-equipped and excellent location.
If hours are given for check-in time, one assumes that you can arrive at any time between those hours, and that someone will be there to receive you. However, this was not the case and we had to call to inform the owner that we were waiting outside. Upon their arrival no apology was given and it left a poor impression on me. It also appeared that they were not at all prepared for our arrival, because they scrambled around to look for keys, and only then went to make sure that everything was right in the unit. The supply of water in shower was not consistent, from hot to ice cold in seconds and kept changing. Air-con and fridge make a lot of noise during the evening, making it difficult to sleep!
Room's air-con was out of order, owner doesn't really want to help. We reported the air-con to the owner at around 18:30 and by 22:00 we still hadn't seen anything from him. The room has an entrance to the main house which is very bad had to lie in the heat and listen to what they are talking about. The room is not at all up to standard or what is advertised in the photos. The tub is also terrible now for a larger person and with large shells on the edge that can fall off at any time due to too little space.
The accommodation is advertised as self catering, but there was only one room with a very small bar fridge and a microwave. We even had to ask for cutlery (and a blanket as there was only a single duvet). There was only a typewriter chair and a broken dressing table in the room. The room was next to the main house with a door to the main house and the owners were not always very quiet and it was very disturbing. The owners used the room in our absence - people watched rugby on the TV and left the room via the door to the main house. You have to leave your vehicle in the street to open the gate - and of course the same if you leave the place. This while the property is at a very sharp angle.

Very quiet with a nice view. Room was pretty neat and clean. Not too far from shopping center and city center. Second time we have stayed there and will go again.
The first night there was a lot of noise, and someone played loud music from their car right in front of our room at 11 o'clock in the evening, it was not very pleasant. We didn't park behind a gate and the room door opens onto a porch a few meters from the street, without a fence. No coffee in the room. Room was neat and was nice and spacious and lots of space. Nice area with a nice view.
