The owners went out of their way to make us feel at home. There is a camp set up in front of the house to keep our puppy inside. I even got marshmallow pudding and balloons for my birthday. Our little girl really enjoyed the sheep, ponies, kayaking and fishing. Will go again for sure!
What a lovely weekend. Just the right place for a weekend getaway. The house is tidy and everything you need is already there. The view is incredibly beautiful, the hot tub was wonderfully relaxing. I give hospitality 100%, made an effort to make sure we were comfortable and made so much extra effort to make the weekend enjoyable.
We were at Besi si Nesi in the coldest and wettest week of the July but had a wonderful time with the host and hostess who really make an exceptional effort. The kitchen is exceptionally equipped with everything you could possibly need. The rooms have heaters that were already burning when we got there. The host and hostess went to great lengths to make sure we were protected from the wet and cold and often came to ask if everything was still okay. We would love to visit in warmer weather because the surroundings are so beautiful.
Our stay was nothing short of exceptional. We had the most relaxing time with the most accommodating hosts. From the unspoilt views and privacy, to the hot tub and fire pit, we were pleasantly surprised with how beautiful and well-equipped Besi se Nesi is. We are already booked to return (even more nights this time)! Highly recommended!

What a fantastic weekend away we had! The hosts were very welcoming and even had the hot tub ready for us on arrival. All amenities are there, they have literally thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and relaxing. One of those rare gems where reality is better than the pictures. Highly recommended.

My wife, daughter and I stayed for seven days over New Year with our dogs. Amazing place! Private, safe, pet friendly, and beautiful nature. The view over the dam, mountains and valley is stunning. At night, stars are bright, no light pollution. Peaceful, yet there is always something to do like swimming or rowing in the dam. Town is 10 km away. The hosts are excellent and helpful. They attended to our needs promptly and even took time out of their busy day to take us on a challenging hike to a beautiful waterfall with our dogs. Great fun was had by all. Facilities are clean and braai area is great with wood provided. The grass terraces are beautiful and immaculately maintained. I even saw two otters playing on the slipway on our last night which was very special. Best value for money I have experienced in a long time.
We had a great stay, the views were amazing and the cottage had mostly everything needed. Our biggest problem was that the beds are really not good, both my partner and I had a lot of trouble sleeping and had back pain after our time there, which is a shame.
The long weekend provided the quiet and recharge we were hoping for. The space was lovely and really enjoyed swimming in the pond. Our dogs enjoyed the space just as much. The cottage had everything needed for the weekend. The owners are friendly and helpful.

We were contacted in advance by the host and knew exactly how to get to the premises. We were received kindly and during our stay they were available with information about things to do in the area. The accommodation is fully equipped and even wood and fire lighters are provided. Everything was very clean and tidy, even artistic. We fully enjoyed the view of the dam and the peaceful surroundings and started to relax within a day. Definitely worth a visit.

Besi si Nesi is a lovely cottage hidden out of main routes. Surprisingly beautiful setting overseeing a large dam. Peaceful and safe. The cottage is comfortable with everything you need for a restful holiday. Close to Swellendam town and to Bontebok Nature Reserve.
