Bestuis Cottages is centrally located in the Boland, between Stellenbosch and Paarl on a working fruit farm, Bestuis Farm. It is located 15 km from Stellenbosch and Paarl as well as 30 km from Franschhoek, 35 km from the Cape Town International airport, and 45 km from the renowned V&A Waterfront.
There are 4 units that offer a view of the dam. The fifth unit (Die Leeu) is in the middle of the farm and doesn't have a view of the dam. It has an enclosed garden with a view of the mountains.

Peaceful near the dam, with the birds flying around and all enjoying the calmness.
We had a great stay, Juanita was always helpful. Place is clean and tidy and very well located. Two things to maybe look out for, all our clothes were on hangers and the wardrobe was not suitable for hanging clothes. Also possibly look for a standing mirror in the room for women who want to do their hair. Furthermore, we had a very nice stay and will definitely visit again in the near future.
Everything was comfortable, neat and clean. All I would suggest is a small dressing table or top with mirror in the master bedroom. At the braai area a shovel and brush to sweep up the ash from the braai, especially if you are staying longer than 2 days.
What a lovely time! We found our way through the imposing mountain countryside to the neat, well-appointed cottage on a working farm. The Guinea fowl were all there to welcome us, and the house was impeccably clean. Our hosts made checking in easy and have ensured that every amenity is easy to locate and use. We were two families with babies, and everyone was comfortable and had fun! Walks around the farm itself were a group favourite! Big thanks to our hosts for their kindness and hospitality. We'd love to visit again some time!
We had a great time, it's so beautiful there and the cottage was perfect, we stayed in the otter. So nice clean and beautiful - we also enjoyed guests who came to visit, there were the most beautiful cats on the farm and 4 of them came to visit us. We are cat people so we thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
We had a wonderful stay at Bestuis. We stayed in Die Luiperd, which catered for everything. Tidy and modern. There is a big dam for bass fishing, and it is close to a few amazing wine farms. Would definitely stay there again.

Bestuis Cottages is one of the most beautiful and best places we have ever stayed. Neatly built and equipped, sparkling clean, with a beautiful view of the pond with its waterfowl. The unit is spacious. The king size bed is firm and sleeps like a dream. The bathroom, shower and water pressure are good. The kitchenette met all our needs and the air conditioning is effective. The security is good and we felt safe. The central location in the Winelands is ideal for visiting all the surrounding tourist attractions, after which you can relax on the veranda with a fire and a glass of wine. The atmosphere is absolutely peaceful, with only the sounds of the waterfowl for company. This place can easily become a favorite.
Clean, tidy, safe. Slept very well in fresh and quality bedding. Aircon was great in the heat. The cottage has cute bug-proof doors. The stoep has a large braai which was nice with a nice view of the pond/nature. Cute that we can just call the gate to go in and out as we please. The accommodation is modern, smart and well equipped in a beautiful area. The host was very organised and messaged me in advance with all the information I needed, as well as checking in on anything we needed.

Absolutely stunning accommodation. Far away from any busy roads, loads of birdlife, very tranquil. High quality furniture, including air conditioning. Very neat, good quality bed and linen. Good WiFi in lounge area for streaming. Good security, with burglar bars and safety gates. Modern and neat. Felt it was a bit overpriced for 1 person (same price as 2). Had to drive on a gravel road for about 1.8 km which is not my favourite thing; however, absolutely worth it.
We felt safe and the place is beautiful! It was very tidy. Just take something for flies; I think this was due to the animals. Just a shoutout to the little guys and their sister on the bikes who assisted us when we struggled with the gate. The place is amazing! We would want to visit again.
Unfortunately I wasn't there until after 9pm every night, so pretty much missed the beauty, and again early mornings with work. Brilliant communication from you, as well as Steuis off! All I would suggest, if I may, is just to better communicate what is included and what is excluded, for example towels, rooms/dishes are washed daily by Bestuis, coffee is refilled daily etc. etc. Love the "out of town" location, but shops are not around the corner, so on my 2nd day I knew to stock up on coffee, sugar, milk and shampoo/soap. I know, just little little things. But yes, my next stay there I will definitely make more use of the wonderful surroundings! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Lovely, spacious cottage with enough space outside for children to frolic. The units are also designed to make load shedding bearable. Nicely centrally located to be able to enjoy both the wine countries, but also Cape Town itself. Would definitely recommend it.

We were in the Winelands for two wine festivals, so really just needed somewhere clean and close by to sleep at, so this ticked those boxes. However, the description of the cottages was somewhat misleading as there is no dam anywhere close to the accommodation (the view from the deck is of a fence and solar panels, with mountains in the far distance). Also, the bedroom with the single beds is on the way into one of the double bedrooms, so couldn't really be used by non-families. Also note that both those bedrooms are a long way down the passage from the bathroom.
