It was absolutely fabulous! It exceeded our expectations; the tiny attention to detail really made all the difference. The place was beautiful; pictures don't do it justice. Such a peaceful environment to recharge and reconnect with loved ones. I would recommend this to everyone looking for a getaway from the city. The check-in process was smooth, and the owner was always helpful. I was so sad when it was time to leave. We will definitely be back. All you need to bring is food and clothes; everything is sorted and provided by the owner, even having books and board games available. It was lovely! And I can't wait to be back.
My stay at Betty's Retreat was amazing. It was very relaxing, and the host was very friendly and always willing to assist. Will definitely recommend it to other couples looking for a break.

Very comfortable and enjoyable event, though the weather was not great.
Maybe just have a look at replacing light bulbs, some fused, especially the bathrooms and the living room, next to the fridge, making it difficult to see where one is cooking, as the shelf light does not shine directly on the countertop. And the outside light is a disco ball lol. A broom and mop were also desperately needed for cleaning up after ourselves, the mould is also quite visible in the window stalls and I was a bit disappointed about the missing fairy lights, as advertised. There was one face towel in the bathroom that had a foul smell and we ended up storing it under the basin. Other than that, everything else was conveniently accessible and we still had a lovely stay. The extra towels were a bonus. I'll definitely be back. Thanks!
Lovely cozy cottage! Beautiful view from room and porch. Hostess indulgent and helpful! Relaxed and enjoyed the surroundings.
Disaster with the power supply. 1st night with no electricity in the pre paid metre. Saturday night without power due to Eskom repairs. Weather was miserable but quiet town.
Grass/weed was long and that already summerise the accomodation, no maintanance or cleanup before guests arive. We had to phone around to find the keys. . Place were not clean, thick dust on pots, fridge were not cleaned and worse is that the bedding was not changed from previous guests.
Betty's Retreat is always the place I visit when I just want to relax and be peaceful. Definitely worth it.

The place is beautiful and clean and the owner was very helpful during our stay. Pictures don't do it justice. It was nice and quiet and safe and had was what needed and wanted. It has a 2 plate stove and all the necessary cutlery and utensils that we need, I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

The place was easy to find. Parking is not very safe although we were made aware of it in the advertisement. The view was breathtaking, the bougainvillea in the street provided action. My wife and I really enjoyed the break from our daily life, the view of the mountain is as advertised (breathtaking), on a next visit we will also visit the town's features. Lubna was neat, clean and everything as we expected.
Harold Porter Botanic Gardens are fantastic and well worth discovering.
A comfortable stay in a beautiful location.
The only two worries were the parking which is just off the suburb road and the braai which is at the back of the cottage and the two cottages braai side by side thus no privacy when braaing. Other than those two points it was wonderful.
Had an awesome time. It could do with another braai area, it's a bit one-sided. Maybe just add a TV to the cottages. Just my opinion.

Betty's Retreat has all the amenities for a weekend away. You only have to pack your food and clothes. The cars driving pass on Clarence Drive was very noisy at times, but all the houses in Betty's Bay close to that road will experience the same sound level. Cute outside deck looking out onto the mountains enjoying your morning coffee.
The house is located in incredible natural beauty, surrounded by fynbos and mountains. The owners have really thought of everything that guests may need to make it a wonderful getaway.
Very basic, but has all the necessaries needed to relax, like no TV and no Wi-Fi. The main road behind the premises was a little noisy, but not unbearable.

Tranquillity waking up facing the majestic mountain side, surrounded by luscious vegetation with natural running water and the chirping of various bird species. We were greeted by a few toads sitting on the banks of the riverlet running under the cottage. A real piece of heaven on earth. Will definitely be returning. Thank you for a memorable and blessed experience.
Betty's retreat is perfect for a relaxing couples weekend. The view is beautiful and there is a lot to do in the area. We went on a waterfall hike and visited the penguin. You will definitely see me again.
Very cute and neat house. Perfect as a base for exploring the area. However, if you want to go for peace and quiet and a nice barbecue, this might not be the best place/option. The house is unfortunately right on top of the main road and the road is very busy and the cars fly by at 100km/h plus from early morning to late evening. Due to the risk of fire, the braai is located in a booth at the corner of the yard. A bit of a lonely experience for keen barbecuers. The cottage has a beautiful view of the mountain and there is a stream that flows under the cottage.

Saw the braai grid but is there an actual braai?
The cottage was beautiful and the view stunning. The geyser's water was not as hot as I expected, but it is hot enough to have a relaxing shower. The grounds has a line to hang your washing which is great after a day at the beach, plus I was pleased to see pegs in the cupboard. The kitchen was equipped with pots and pans and all cutlery needed. The breeze is amazing!! Loved the deck chairs and really enjoyed the peace and quiet which really clears your head!
The owner contacted me personally to make sure I understood the directions and kindly allowed me to check out later.
We were a little concerned for the safety of our vehicle as it was not visible from the bedroom.
We had a specific purpose which meant we only stayed during the evenings. Added to that, the weather was extremely bad. The name came into its own as it allowed us to retreat from tiring days into its warm, sheltered and cozy rooms. Everything well functional and the occasional oddity was quickly addressed.
The shower is very slippery - the water in the shower does not flow out and floods the floor. The toaster only heats one side of the bread.
Absolutely beautiful views and peaceful venue! Had such a relaxing and enjoyable time. Only feedback perhaps build the driveway closer to the units in order to view the cars better at night.
All the practicalities of our stay were met by the host - towels, bedding, crockery, cutlery, plugs, you name it, she supplies it.

Something that probably cannot be remedied is the fact that the unit is located close to the bypass and that the traffic is disturbing. At least it mostly finishes later in the night.
The natural beauty, mountains and birds frolicking in fynbos make you forget about the daily rush. Really a place where you can recharge batteries. All that can be paid attention to is the geyser's heat. Would go again anytime.
The garden was most enjoyable.
The place is fantastic. Very upmarket on the inside and good appliances. Security is excellent. I hit the panic button by accident a few times on the remote and they were there in minutes. Really nice place.
