Black Rhino Game Lodge

Located in the west side of the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park, and only 33 km from Sun City, Black Rhino Game Lodge is the ideal location for a luxurious bushveld breakaway.
The suites are very private and equipped with a mini-bar, air-conditioner and hot beverage station. The patio doors open out into the bush, and if you look out quietly, you will see the herds of impala or a lone elephant walking by. The designer bathrooms open out into your own private outside shower and are perfect to cool down on a hot day.
A top-class chef caters for all your exquisite meals in an atmospheric restaurant. Both the bar and the restaurant open out onto the viewing deck, so you are always close to nature.
The Lodge is built between a Tamboti forest, overlooking a busy waterhole, which is a hive of bird and animal activity, and a playground for the elephant. On many occasions, the stillness of the night is broken by the roaring of lions, and the franklins sing the morning wake-up call. Once, you are awakened with a hot cup of coffee, your host ranger will take you out on an exceptional game drive, taking you through Black Rhino Reserve, into the unexplored valley of the Pilanesberg, until we reach the 200 km network of Pilanesberg Park roads.

13 guests' feedbackWe enjoyed it so much. The food was very tasty, the people friendly and the game drives fun. Thank you very much for our nice visit, see you again soon.
Ideal for a quick and relaxing getaway
We were wonderfully spoiled and had a great time. Only complaint - some areas need attention. Both deck areas at dining area and pool. Water damage on top of sink cabinet. My air conditioning did not work perfectly and it was a restless night. Checked in next morning and it was fixed. Thank you.
We really enjoyed it to see a part of the Pilanesberg Mountains not available to the public. Wonderful accommodation and very good service.
The rooms are unbeatable! The boma dinner as well as the private bird-hide dinner were highlights. Unfortunately, you can't expect to fall asleep with forest sounds as background music, because the thud-thud-thud of the nearest town is all you hear. Food is included, but please note all drinks are extra.
Black Rhino Game Lodge treats all guests like gold. I enjoyed every moment! And I was also very lucky to get engaged there! It was unforgettable!
Wonderful place. Good food. Excellent service.
We had a very pleasant stay. Our guide on the game drives was very knowledgeable. The only 2 negative things I should mention are that my kids stayed in Unit 1 and my son complained about a buzzing noise (pump? Generator?) that kept him from sleeping well. One would prefer to hear "natural" sounds at night (especialy after 23:00). The second issue was one evening our key (unit 2) was missing - we had to wait almost 15 minutes for it to be found. The key was not numbered, it only had a yellow torch attached, it was removed by some one. The lights were not switched on in the unit either.
Lovely place, great lounge and rooms. Food is of reasonable standard but very very bland, the chef needs training, as no spices or fresh herbs were used in any foods.
Good guides, good accommodation, keen staff, great game viewing, average food! and very pretty surrounds. My only problem was the number of under 12's around (I find children intrusive in the bush and restless on game drives). Fortunately the one we had on the vehicle were "controlled" or we would have chosen to forego the drive!
The staff was amazing. The rangers were very patient with us on the game drives. The food was delicious. Overall I enjoyed myself and I would come here again!
The stay was great with awesome food, a clean and efficient lodge and good service.
A wonderful stay!
