We enjoyed our visit at Bloekomsrus Guest House. The farmhouse was equipped with everything we needed.
The accommodation is very basic and was not quite ready when we arrived. The rooms were ready. There is no bath for small children - only showers.
No, it was raining at the windows. The curtains were wet.
We stayed in the old farmhouse. 5 bedrooms all with their own bathrooms. Fridge, stove, and microwave are all available/working. No Wi-Fi. Water pressure drops during loadshedding (booster pump stops). No TV or radio is available. The signage in the place needs to be upgraded. We weren't certain that we were at the right place.
We really enjoyed our visit at Bloekomsrus! There was plenty of privacy and enough space for larger groups. Will definitely book again.
We stayed over after my daughter's wedding. Everything required for self-catering accommodation was available. They made special arrangements for us to book in early and leave later the Sunday.I would definitely recommend Bloemkomsrus.
Beautiful spacious house with all the amenities one needs. Beautiful garden and a few steps away you look out onto a vineyard. It was fantastic.
1. Owner has no contact with the guests. 2. A place for 12 adults cannot have only a manual grill; braai facilities insufficient; 3. Not properly equipped with respect to kitchenware;. 4. An awful lot of worms - the place must be sprayed with a poison (fumigation needed).
If you like a farm break and not far from the city, this is the place. Faith was very cute and made sure everything was 100. Thank you very much Rouvier, we enjoyed it very much.
The house was very nice and tidy. The garden was amazing and very spacious so ideal on a warm day! Few "negative" points would be that the fridge is a bit small for big groups and the kitchen was missing a few items (proper cutting knives, scissors, can opener) but other than that, everything was great!
Was lovely and quiet to stay at Bloekomsrus. The place has so much potential. The rooms where we stayed was clean, however I can recommend some slight maintenance (open space at the bottom of the doors and toilets didn't fill up with water after the first flush). Overall I can recommend it to anyone.
The accommodation was adequate and well appointed. Although our first impression was not very good, because the person who was supposed to receive us was not there and it is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so you at least expect to be made welcome. It is well located near Riebeek-Kasteel and one of the more affordable places around. The house itself is basic, and what one can expect from a farmhouse. We checked out early and Rouvier was very accommodating to refund us part of our money. We notice and appreciate it.
No member of staff was on site to receive us. The unit's floors were dirty. Cockroaches were running around on the floor. Air conditioner in room was out of order. There was a cut in the tub and it was grossly dirty. Carpets in front of the bed and the bath were dirty. Bedside lamps could not be used due to of bed headboard pressing against the wall plug. The next morning I informed the manager of our grievances, then we were moved to another room in the main house. It was an improvement, except for the dirty bathroom mat in front of the shower. I took a towel from one of the other bathrooms and threw it on the mat. The manager also waived us the rest of the amount due to the poor condition of the winter suite.
Accommodation was neat and clean, very nice under the trees.
Clean, tidy, sufficient for one night's overnight stay. Not set up for barbecuing or really cooking and a TV would be a welcome addition. It is indeed the bridal room but it would have been quite nice. Furthermore, wonderfully quiet, very much enjoyed.
