Blombosch Private Game Farm is nestled on a private farm, conveniently located just 4 km from Yzerfontein. This rustic retreat is ideal for groups seeking a serene and back-to-basics getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Blombosch Jaghuisie is gas and solar-powered and consists of 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom fitted with a toilet and bath. The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed, and the second room is equipped with 2 single beds. The bathroom has a bath, basin and toilet. The kitchen contains basic appliances such as a bar fridge, a 2-plate stove, crockery, and a dining table. The kitchen area also features a built-in fireplace. In addition, there is an outdoor braai area to use as well. There are 2 bunk beds for 2 children to sleep on in the living area.

The Lumberjack cottage is a rustic cottage on the farm and it has 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds in each room. The bathroom consists of a shower, toilet and basin. The kitchen has a 2-plate stove and a fridge. There is a spacious outside braai. Gas and solar-powered cottage.

Blombosch Lodge is ideal for a large group and can accommodate up to 32 persons. The lodge comprises 8 en-suite bedrooms equipped with 2 single beds, a bunk bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. In addition, the main house features a large open-plan living area, a kitchen with basic appliances, and an entertainment area with a pool table.

The Blombosch Farmhouse comprises 3 bedrooms, the first bedroom comprises a double bed, the second bedroom twin beds, and the third bedroom 2 bunk beds. The unit has 2 bathrooms fitted with a shower only. Other in-room facilities include a living area, a fully self-catering kitchen, and an indoor braai area.

Very nice! The dirt road was a bit rough for small car when it is raining and wet. Nice enclosed porch that was recently done helps with the wind if you have a fire going.

Was lovely. Worth every moment. The dirt road is a bit sandy and not suitable for low sedan cars. Suffered damage to the stuck car.

Good day, I think it should be made more clear that in the evening there is no power or water from 10/11 o'clock until the next morning. We had a nice stay and switched off. I suggest for people going in to take plenty of water. We had to use drinking water for dishes, the water just smells too bad.

We only stayed one night. The cottage was next to horses, and we were bothered by flies all night. They also let us know that there are many snakes. We couldn't give way fast enough. Everything in the cottage was also very dirty, especially the sofa.

Although it was a short visit, we had a great time seeing the various places around the farm such as !Khwa ttu. The farm was lovely and we even got to pet a buffalo. Such a beautiful place. I will definitely come to revisit it.

It is a beautiful farm with beautiful animals. The zebras visited us all weekend. The beds are comfortable and the blankets nice and warm. Friendly staff. I will definitely go again and for longer!

"Very calm."

We really had a great time with our boys. It is a quiet and peaceful place. I only wish we knew that 'solar and gas' meant you had to bring your own candles and flashlights. The solar power did not sufficiently charge the lights indoors, and the next day we had to go and buy candles to at least have light at night.

Loved the goats say blear. Flies are just bad. Especially at night when you are sleeping. Slept very badly.

We had a great time. Pool table was a winner. Well appointed. Rooms are neat.

Staff on farm friendly and helpful. Nice that pets allowed. No indication that the Fisherman Cottages are right on top of one another in same enclosure. Could have had people with kids or unfriendly pets and unable to get away from them. Pool was empty on our side. Lovely large stoep, protection from wind (although couldn't see sunset from stoep, a pity), great fireplace, outside beds - slept outside which was rather nice. Generator from the Lodge till 1 am though. That setting looks fabulous especially for big group. Fisherman Cottages not so well cared-for/nurtured landscape. A more rustic experience understandably, but interior needs some renewing at least of reed ceiling, a nightmare for allergies. Ancient cheap shelving with hundreds of layers of paint in awkward corner in bedroom. Cottage needed airing before arrival as dank smell, fearful I would get asthma - thankfully could sleep outside - dankness did improve but still dark, just plain unattended for years. Pamphlet with walks or trails, (distances helpful for those liking long hikes), would be nice on arrival. If detail on website didn't check prior to arrival.

Central West Coast location with zebras and goats all around the houses. Nice farm atmosphere and 5 minutes away from the sea. Herman gives very good service.

It sits in the perfect spot. Best of both worlds. Close to the sea and the silence and tranquility of a farm environment. Great 4x4 route. Beautiful animals. Perfect getaway spot.

We were warmly received by Herman and he stopped by every day to make sure that everything was in order. The houses are rustic, but have everything you need and were very tidy. A bonus was that we saw all the wildlife on the farm - some just opposite our farm gate. We drove the trails on the farm and had a picnic at Aap's hole. Furthermore, we enjoyed the tranquility, the birds singing, animal sounds and shining stars. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Ideal for outdoors people!

"Pleasant stay in quiet surroundings."

The quiet nature of our stay suited us well. The walks we relaxing. However, the cleanliness of the cutlery as well as the cushions on the outside furniture could be attended to better.

It was an absolute pleasure and our dogs enjoyed it so much to be able to chase bunnies and just walk around freely, the farmhouse is beautiful and everything was just perfect. Best getaway after all the lockdown and was even treated to a team that came to clean up the kitchen. Will definitely come again.

"Old Cape romance"

The old Cape house with its hearth, windows looking out over the wave of yellow flowers and Zebras and ostriches that graze diagonally on the other side of the house is beautiful. Herman and his team were very helpful and peaceful. Although the site is about a 10 minute drive from Yzerfontein, it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. No noise from vehicles, planes, just peace and quiet.

"Very quiet and peaceful on a working farm, our pets especially enjoyed it, farm people are very friendly, the view and nature are great."

Wood was provided, could have a great barbecue and make a fire in the fireplace in the evening. Farm sounds in the morning were a precious experience.

I am not one for many words. But all I can say is that it was not our first or last time at Blombosch. Looking forward to the next getaway there.

Back to basics - solar panels, gas and fire are your friends.

Had a great time at Blombosch. Ample space, parking, facilities clean and working well. Great for large groups of friends, families and pets. Staff were attentive and sorted out any issues swiftly. Had a broken water pump that was fixed within a few hours on NYE morning. Would recommend to anyone.

Blombosch Lodge is on the Yzerfontein road. About 5 kilometers dirt road to accommodation. Lumberjack cottage is practically furnished for a more "rustic" stay. Upgrading is needed to make it a better value for money destination. The tranquility on the farm, the hiking trails, zebras, moose and water buffalo are positive points.

Was still unfortunate that there were no plugs in our cottage, as there is nothing in the description of it.

"Better than the National Park."

Our stay at Blombosch Lodge was so beautiful. We went in Spring and the Jaghuis was surrounded by this beautiful yellow flowers that smelled like chamomile. I couldn't keep my eyes of it, especially in the morning when the sun gave the field a golden shine. The stuff is super friendly and helpful. And the best part of our stay was the daily visits by zebras and bokkies. Looking forward to stay with you again. All the best, Nic, Sarah and Rebecca.

Most beautiful place to be. Would like to go back to Jagtershuisie again. Enjoyed it very much! Quiet evenings around fire with beautiful moon rising. Being without electricity didn't bother at all.

We will definitely book here again. Two suggestions are a gate to carport at cottage. There are 2 openings where the zebras and buffalo came in while we were sitting by the fire. May be dangerous. An outdoor shower next to the house or in the bath will save a lot of water, draining a bath takes a lot of water. Furthermore, we absolutely love the place! If we can order wood next time that will also help.

Lovely linen. Very clean and enough braai space inside and outside! The without power enjoy. Wouldn't oil lamps work better and cheaper than candles? The bath can cause a problem for older persons to get out of. Very smooth and no grip to pull you up. The fight against invasive forest was outstanding, well done! Nice stay!

Basics such a silicone around bath will make a huge difference.

No lights on stoep or next to beds. Lock on front door near impossible to open, no bedroom door, Need a shower, dishes for salad etc yard should be tidied up of fallen dead trees and old coals from other peoples braais. Directions to cottage were sketchy at best.

"The environment is beautiful. It's quiet and private. Highly recommended for people who just want to relax."

Bonni was very nice and went to recharge our mobile phones every night. It was very hot, and since there is only solar power, a fan is out of the question. Fortunately the cottage is very cool inside. It is truly a lovely place to stay. My only suggestion is to maybe consider a shower - use less water, and the tub is quite small.

Our stay at Blombosch Lodge Yzerfontein was everything we hoped for. Calm, peaceful and quiet time was just what our family needed. With loads of play space for the kids and a beautiful view made the evenings and mornings a wonderful experience. Definitely something to recommend.

Generator was a misunderstanding. It is not for use at the "fishermans cottages". Only for lodge guests.

We had a great time, and recommend the following. Please make a flashlight available, and put candles in all the candle holders. The blankets were a bit short - we had to use the blankets from the unused beds. There was only 1 towel in the master bedroom - we shared other towels.

If you want to escape every day life and relax with only the bare necessities, this is the place to go.

It was really wonderful to experience the peace and quiet. The fridge was just too small and the pots were dirty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They want you to safe water, but not really possible if there's only a bath.

Really wouldn't recommend, actually wanted to go and stay elsewhere immediately! Photos are misleading. False advertising. The first impression was so disappointing. I thought I was at the wrong place. I wanted to turn around and leave. We were there for our anniversary! It looked dirty and rundown even from the road. Definitely too expensive. Run-down, disgusting, looks like a worker's dwelling. Dirty: dead flies in fridge, the ice tray was full of grime just to name a few cases. Pillows on the sofa were dirty and smelled bad. Towels are disgusting. I am grateful that we took our own along. Cobwebs in the corner. No plug for the kitchen sink. Pots are rusted. Are the units inspected? The pots were dirty, bedding too. We were almost too scared to sleep on the beds. A double bed would've been nice. It's mostly couples staying here. But the whole setup in the room is laughable. No privacy. No curtains in the house, except in the bedroom since the other house is on top of this one! The place is falling to pieces: the front door, grout in bathroom, basin is busy falling off the wall. Absolutely run-down. Taps in the bathroom are grimy. Mouse droppings in bed. Geyser is faulty, water is hot for only 30 seconds. Had to put the water on about 40 times for a drop of bathwater and then boil the rest on the stove. And only 2 stove plates work. The toilet doesn't work properly. I had to pour water in at the top. If they allow people in the other cottage to bring a dog, they should let you know as there is no fence and a barking dog is unacceptable. The dog barked 24/7. Really bothered us. The neighbours music was so loud. I made a complaint to Esther directly - but she did nothing - pathetic. Buffalo Drift's old car driving up and down was bothersome. We left the house in a cleaner state that we found it.
