Beautiful units at the trout ponds. The unit is very well equipped and comfortable.
Surprised to catch 7 small black bass and no trout. Otherwise, a great time was had. Enjoyed the peaceful surroundings together with the wildlife. We recommend that appropriate "safety stickers" be pasted on the sliding doors to prevent persons from colliding with the doors when closed, as the doors are kept spotlessly clean and are at times not recognised as being closed.
We stayed for a week, in Kingfisher Cottage. Appointed with everything one needs, a great fireplace that kept the cottage warm and there is the convenience of daily service by charming staff. We were working away from the office and the wifi was fast and stable. Back up generation is available for loadshedding. Besides trout fishing, you can take walks on the farm, and view the Blesbok, Zebra, Springbok and herds of Fallow Deer. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets when the weather is favourable. A slick and customer-centric establishment.
Pity about our geyser that didn't warm up enough for showering and wifi that was buffering quite often, otherwise really enjoyable.
The pond in front of the house is so beautiful! It feels like a little place in Europe.

We stayed as a family in the Kingfisher unit. Was very nice and peaceful. Went for a walk and looked at the goats. Just wish the fishing was better. But overall it was exactly what we expected.
My wife would have loved it, she will, however, be bringing her own hot tub since there isn't much for ladies to do and enjoy other than accompany the fishermen haha. Loved it. Really great place and surely is a piece of heaven right on the city's doorstep.
Small table in the bathroom maybe to put toiletries on and not on the floor. The sticker on the sliding doors can go through the glass door.

We went for trout fishing and were very disappointed.
The reeds are starting to take over the dams which is a bad thing for fishing. The reeds need to be cut back and removed soon. We would appreciate top sheets being provided on the beds as the duvets are too hot and heavy and we prefer to remove the duvet and sleep with the blanket.
Our weekend break at Blue Crane Farm was just what we needed. Chalet was perfect. Clean, neat, tidy and cosy. Everything you needed away from home. Thoroughly enjoyed the fly fishing and meeting the farm's friendly fallow deer that popped over to our chalet every evening to say hello. The place has a magical, relaxing feeling. Thank you, that is exactly what my husband and I needed. Will definitely recommend it and return to Blue Crane Farm for another visit in the near future.

It is very peaceful, quiet and particularly beautiful here. Just brace yourself for no wifi. But this is exactly what you need to force yourself not to work and to see the nature around you. (Very clever). Had a great rest and the people who clean your fireplace and house are so pampered.

We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Crane. The unit is spacious and well furnished with everything you need. The farm is also just outside Dullstroom, so it's nice and quiet, but close enough to go into town for everything you need. We would definitely recommend the accommodation and are regular visitors!
Blue Crane Farm offers everything a farm can offer, silence, privacy and many activities for the children. We fished, hiked, barbecued and most importantly, rested! Will definitely go back again!

We only slept one night as an overnight stay after a visit in Dullstroom. The place is neat and clean. They provide wood and lightning. Everything well arranged.
Spacious accommodation, well planned, quality furniture and equipment, and good privacy.
Have a good rest, with pond and animals.
A few suggestions to make your guests stay a little more comfortable: 1. Extra toilet paper available in the unit. We were given 1 roll for each bathroom (with an extra roll in one of the bathrooms) for our entire stay. If I recall the roll given in the main bedroom was not even a new roll. We ran out by the last day and we had to share a roll between the two bathrooms. . 2. The kitchen could be better equiped with more utensils and crockery (i. e. , a coffee plunger, more plates, an extra pan would have been nice). . 3. The geyser takes very long to heat up and while this wasn't the end of the world, there is a lot of water wastage when we have to wait as long as we did for the water to heat up. . 4. The weather was quite chilly and the fireplace was lovely! However, the bedrooms were slightly chilly. An electric blanket or better heaters could have helped to just take the chill away as a quick option for bedtime or just after a shower/bath. . 5. Whilst I understand the idea of not having wifi available, it would be nice for this to be specifically disclosed beforehand. I had a long meeting to join and would have preferred wifi over my phone as a hotspot due to unpredictable signal issues. . Our stay was lovely otherwise and the fishing an absolute delight. Your staff are all friendly and the service quick and helpful. We would definitely make another trip to your farm.

The farm is conveniently located just outside Dullstroom. It is peaceful and well maintained with space to walk and explore. The unit was neat and tidy, equipped with everything that you might need during your stay. We will definitely visit again!

Blue Crane Farm is one of those destinations that you actually want to keep to yourself so that we can always go away there, but at the same time you want to share it with everyone to also get the opportunity to experience the Highveld at its most beautiful! The ponds in front of the cottages create a peaceful atmosphere, the goats that graze in front of the house are just perfect, the whole farm Blue Crane is everything and more.
We rested very well. The unit is spacious with enough space to accommodate 8 people. I like the privacy of the units. The ponds definitely have trout in them, and we had some good fishing. Can definitely recommend them.

Blue Crane Farm is very good value for money. It's amazing to wake up in the morning with that nice stretch, silence and calmness. The staff are very friendly and helpful and you feel that you can relax.
The cottage is modern and well equipped. Good security. The farm is tranquil with the trout dam situated in front of the cottages. Several antelope, zebras and birds on the farm. Easy access to the main road (R540) to Dullstroom which is approx 16 kms away.
It's a nice break. Communication from Blue Crane farm is excellent. Close enough to Dullstroom but far enough to rest. The unit was not 100% clean. The unit was also not ready at 14h:0, it didn't bother us much because we went for a walk straight away, but it could be important.
Weather did not play along, planned to catch some nice fish but next time. Rest of stay lovely, beautiful accommodation.

Blue Crane Farm is an incredibly beautiful place in a beautiful setting. The houses are new and modern and good attention is paid to the trout dams, the environment as well as the accommodation. It's close enough to Dullstroom itself for a visit, but also far enough away to appreciate the silence of nature. I noticed that there are still houses being built and if I can make any suggestion it will be that they will not build too many houses as it will break down the tranquility. We will definitely visit the farm again!

We had a great time at Blue Crane Farm in a 6 bedroom unit. The units are new and very nice. A week might be a bit long with kids, especially if the weather doesn't cooperate, but perfect for a weekend or long weekend.
Too expensive for what is offered; very small bathroom with inferior towels, no/too few quality recliners, for the price you expect unlimited firewood - not just two bags. There are much better accommodation options in the area for significantly lower costs.
Absolutely fantastic, the area and the unit are beautiful! David is so friendly and very helpful. We also didn't feel unsafe at any point and we were kept updated and informed regarding the address, check in times etc. We could also check out at any time on Sunday and not the usual 10:00. Blue Crane and the management definitely gets a 10 out of 10 from us.

There are heaters and a fireplace, it's close to trout dams and just 15 minutes out of town.
There was a freezing cold wind blowing while we were there so unfortunately we couldn't fish. But the direct view of the water and surroundings was more than enough! We also thoroughly enjoyed the animals' visits, just like that on the grass in front of the stoep. Although it was freezing cold in the evenings, we were wonderfully cozy inside - thanks to the fireplace in the living area and also the heater in the room. Thanks for that! All that might still make a difference is perhaps windbreaks or sails on either side of the porch, so that you can still be outside, even if it's a bit cool and windy.

We were there as an extended family: our 2 "old people" in the small 2-bedroom house and our sons with their families of 3 children each were in the big houses with 3 bedrooms each. In the evening we lit the fireplaces and during the day we could experience the peace and calm of just looking out at the trout ponds, or walking or fishing or hanging out on the large porches or the spacious living areas. The finishes, color schemes, comfortable furniture and luxurious beds and linens added to the feeling of being "spoiled". It was truly the right place to forge family bonds! You will see us again soon!

Terribly beautiful surroundings and fishing was top notch. Dawid was on the ball and always willing to help with wood and ice. Walking routes were well laid out and the whole farm was very "child friendly".

The cottage is easy to reach from Belfast and Dullstroom. It's located in a very peaceful and beautiful farm with magnificent views over the lake. We could watch to the animals from all the rooms and terrace. On the terrace are some outside furniture. There are a few houses at one side of the lake but they are far enough to not disturb each other. The surroundings around the house are great for those who look for peace and silence. Did some great walks on the farm with lots of footpaths to roam. Also beautiful is the 'ama poot poot trail' on the Uitvlugt farm.We booked for three nights and we were sorry we had to leave. The house is very well equipped, light, spacious, beautifully decorated and luxurious. Everything was extremely clean. We bought a few bags of firewood and in the evening we lighted up the fire. It was very cosy to sit back and relax after an active day. In the bedrooms are some heaters if it gets to cold. Contact with the owners on the farm is easy, very friendly and warm. We would surely would like to recommend this house to everyone who will be staying in the neighbourhood of Dullstroom.
Karlien and Team David! Thanks so so much for the friendly reception to Blue Crane Farm. We spent a few wonderful days there. David and his team was so helpful and treated us as though we were gold. The house has a warm atmosphere and is outstanding. So wonderful to enjoye a getaway but not to leave the "quality' feeling of your own house. From the toilet paper to the firewood, everything was the best. We cycled and saw game on the neat farm roads, the kids played cricket and went fishing. Wow, Blue Crane Farm will definitely see us again!

We spent an amazing family weekend at Blue Crane in celebration of a Birthday. It was absolutely stunning, the location is amazing, the lodge is new and well appointed with great attention to detail. The views are phenomenal and the peace and quiet are incomparable. The lodges are private and distant from each other which offers a private and peaceful stay. It was a simply stunning weekend and we will most certainly be back for more.
We had a lovely time at Blue Crane. The house is spacious, neat and modern. The large veranda overlooking the dam had nice braai facilities. The farm is very scenic with beautiful hiking trails for the whole family. The service from the cleaners was always friendly and helpful and they really went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We would definitely recommend this to anyone and would love to return.

Gosh, what a wonderful weekend, your farm is amazing and so beautiful, the peaceful atmosphere made us forget all abou the stress and the turmoil back home. The weather was wonderful with a few solid thunder showers and obviously we tried our hand at flyfishing ... it's takes a bit of skill apparently! Delicious pancakes were had in the little town and delicious Illy coffee! You will definitely see us again! Kids jogged around the dam over the little bridge through the mud en through the reeds, but it was a great adventure! Thanks David for bringing wood and Rose for the cleaning the place, we know it's not easy when there are little kids! Little fireplace was amazing!
Wonderful accommodation for a couple/family/large group (especially if you book units 2 and 3). The little house has everything you need. Beautiful trout dams and wonderful nature for hikes, so peaceful but close enough to Dullstroom for a hike. Recommendation: electric blankets! There is a small heater in the room and a wonderful coal stove in the lounge, but it was still freezing, electric blankets are not debatable in the Dullstroom area.

Saw quite a lot of game, the house is stunning and clean. The single bed mattress is a bit hard, definitely not suited for adults. Will go back.
Blue Crane Farm is conveniently located between Belfast and Dullstroom. Accommodation area was very quiet, and peaceful. The units are quite far apart, providing a great deal of privacy. Large area for walks, and pond has a boat for adventurous paddlers. There is a lot of wildlife to see. Staff were tidy, nice, and helpful. The only less enjoyable aspects of our visit were: Building/construction work taking place on site contributed to disturbance of rest. The unit was recently upgraded, but sloppy finishing resulted in paint and tile grout spilling on many surfaces, and not being cleaned up.
Stylish, modern with everything your heart desires. The beds have percal linen and soft throws for a great nights rest. Safe, manicured paths on the farm that gives you a good view of the zebra, deer, and water birds. Units are very private and the views are awesome.

Had a wonderful weekend. The location is perfect, far enough away from town, but not too far. House 4 is separated from the other which gives you some privacy. The house is fully equipped. Friendly and helpful staff. If I'm being particular I would recommend that they install more cupboards with more hanging space. There is enough for one person but if there is a family you'll need to live out of your suitcase. Which is not alway ideal.
