Saturday was our 4th wedding anniversary and Sunday was my wife's birthday. They made us feel especially welcome and made an effort to make it special. We had one problem with the shower, but it was fixed right away. Will go there again. Thank you very much for everything.

Greek Villa was amazing. Large porch with nice braai facilities where we could sit and visit until late. Judy made us feel so welcome and was quick and always willing to help with any queries. Big pool is lovely.

The location is amazing, the houses very nice / individual decor themes, very large garden with hammocks etc., and very nice, neat walking place on the farm. The Tuscan unit is very neat and very well equipped with everything you might need. The hostess, Judy is very helpful and friendly. The walking route was wonderful and our dog children enjoyed themselves tremendously. We will definitely book there again.
What a wonderful place so close to the city. Everything you need, only pack your bags. My furry-boys had the best time as we went on off leash walks and they made some play-friends which made the stay even better. Set in the Magaliesberg just off the Klawer road this has a very tranquil feel with each unit having an individual fenced in garden, braai facilities, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable bedroom and large bathroom. The unit was well insulated on a cold weekend. Enjoyed our stay and can recommend for a weekend break.
Desperate for a break from Jo'burg, but can't get away for more than a night or two? Then this is a great destination, especially if you have dogs. It's close enough to drive to on a Friday after work and still fit in a walk with your fur baby before sunset. Peaceful and laid back.

I believe the lack of seclusion should be clear as daylight on the website. It is not and thus misleading. The area is not in the mountains or hills, it's very close to the road and does not offer much in the line of hiking etc.
Judy goes to great lengths to make you feel at home and comfortable. All the places are painfully neat and have everything one needs.

The owner, Judy, goes out of her way to make you feel special. We were there for our anniversary and received roses and champagne when we arrived. And on the day of our anniversary she surprised us by decorating the table with rose petals and little candles.
My wife and I decided to return to Blue Roan Country Lodge for a second visit. We booked the Honeymoon Suite this time after staying in the Greek Villa a while back. Once again we were very pleased with the accommodation, Judy's hospitality and just the general cleanliness and safety of the Lodge. We decided that we wanted to try all seven of the units, as each one is unique and has a completely different theme and atmosphere. We have never stayed in self-catering units that are fully equipped like at Blue Roan. You literally only need to take food and drink with you. This Lodge is a gem and we are now planning our third visit. It is definitely worth the money and effort to stay there and we can recommend it anytime.
My wife and I stayed in the Greek Villa for the weekend. The place is fully equipped with even items such as soap for dishes. The accommodation and grounds are painfully neat and pleasing to the eye. Judy, the owner and gavro went out of her way to make everything as convenient as possible. We immediately felt at home and really enjoyed the place. We will definitely book there again and try some of the other villas as each has a different theme. We haven't enjoyed a "self-catering" weekend so much. We can recommend the Blue Roan Lodge to anyone who needs a break. It is also very safe.

Judy is a fantastic hostess. Everything was just calm and in place from arrival to the last minute of our departure. We had a wonderful rest and no one came to bother us and also Judy was always available when we needed something. The units are spotless. The spa bath in "The Barn" was lovely. The pool area is also beautiful, but unfortunately we couldn't swim because the weekend was cold and windy. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to escape the city for a few days.
It's not worth the money you pay. And when it rains there is mud everywhere you look. The pool is not even close to the cottages.

Perfect pet friendly accommodation. My wife and I visited Blue Roan with our 2 puppies for our wedding anniversary. It's the perfect place for dogs as each unit is privately fenced and plenty of walking space too. The unit was very clean and tidy and everything you could need was in the unit. Judy was the perfect hostess and went out of her way to make everything as comfortable as possible for us. Would recommend the place to anyone and will definitely visit again. Just the right distance from the city to be quiet and clean your head. Nice and private, quiet and tidy. It's our second time at Blue Roan and will definitely go back again.
